Jobs For 15 Yr Olds In Lake Worth Florida

Can a 15 year old work at McDonalds? If so, what sort of jobs would they be expected to perform?

You will likely either take orders at the window, or be in charge of cleanup to start with. Most stores, don’t have set ‘positions’ as it were. You’ll be hired on as a “crew member”. Which basically means, you do whatever position needs done. The key thing for you is… take it seriously, and get to know you co-workers.I know it sounds odd, but the biggest mistake people make is they don’t take the job seriously. Too often people go in, do as little as possible, and then move on.Here’s the problem. All those other people there, are doing the same thing. You don’t know who your next boss will be. I’ve known people that got rejected from really nice jobs, because they worked at some crappy store, and treated their job like crap, and one of the people they worked with moved on to be a manager at a nice company. Then they go and apply for a job, and the guy interview you says “oh I know you. You worked at that McDonald’s 10 years ago, didn’t you?” and that was the end of the interview. But that manager remembered this guy was a loser at that store, and barely worked, showed up late, and left early.Don’t be that guy. That guy you work with, could be the best key for you to get a good job later. He may also be the brick that smashes a good job later. Be a good employee… work, and make friends with your co-workers.I actually had a lady I worked with years ago offer me a job as a manager, because she knew me from over 10 years before, when I worked at Wendy’s with her. I didn’t take the job, but that’s an example of how early teen jobs, can have a long term effect.Take it seriously. One thing, learn to talk AND work. The problem isn’t talking generally. The problem is, people stop working when they talk. Keep your hands moving. You’ll be fine. And one side note.If figured out that if I had saved all the money that I earned while I was in high school, and invested it… I would have over $300,000 dollars today. Actually that was some years ago I would have had $300K. It would be more than that today.Save your money wisely. Your buddies in school will try and convince you to blow your money on all kinds of crap, and the money will be spent and gone.Don’t follow your buddies. Save and invest for the future.

Is it possible to start medical school at 27-28 years old in order to become a surgeon? Would I still have a place and a decent career?

I went to Medical school in Boston. There was a woman in my class who was 60 years old in the first year Med school class. She was 64 years old and on graduation day, was sitting next to me in cap and gown and I asked her what she was planning to do after graduation. She replied that she was going to a family practice residency (which would be 3 years). So I said you’ll be 67 by the time you are able to practice. Why did you wait so long. She replied “I’ve been a flight attendant for over 30 years. One day I accidentally spilled a soda on a passenger and he made such a scene by yelling, cursing and dehumanizing me in front of the entire cabin. He told me ‘you’re just a lousy waitress who never amounted to anything’ I was in my 50’s at the time. I cried so much that day. I had always liked science in school and wanted to be a doctor when I was growing up but my family and life’s circumstances forced me to get a job in my early 20’s and give up my education. That incident stirred up something inside me and I was determined to pursue my dream. So I used the money I saved all those years and put myself through pre-Med classes and medical school. I needed to know that I could do it. And even though I may only practice a few years after all the hard work and training, I will have realized my dream.” I was so proud of that woman for her determination and spirit. I wish I had gotten to know her more throughout medical school. She inspires me to this day.

Dallas or houston??

I would choose Dallas/Ft Worth over Houston. I have lived in both places.

Houston is closer to the coast, BIG FREAKING DEAL, have you seen the water at galveston? its like swimming in nasty chocolate milk. NO I am not kidding, see the silt from the mississippi fills the gulf and the water currents cause that silt to head towards texas, the water is dirty cloudy for hundreds of miles, before clearing up. If you are a beach person and think houston will keep you closer to the beach you will be sadly dissappointed. I have lived on the west coast, visited florida, and mexico, and the caribbean. I will NEVER go to a texas beach again. Sorry I just need to say that, because sure when I was young and had never been to a beach besides the ones in Texas I thought it was nice... till I went elsewhere....

Both cities are comparable on most levels. Dallas is more 'cosmopolitan' than Houston. Houston is more laid back. Dallas felt a little more materialistic. Dallas is more segregated. The alternative lifestye crowd is bigger in Houston. Dallas has zoning and planning, Houston has none. Houston is dead flat. Dallas is slightly more rolling. (that is relative though, Austin is very rolling) Dallas is close to many nice lakes (some of those beaches are better than the coast) Dallas is HOT in the summer, but Houston is HOT and HUMID (which is way way way worse). Dallas gets ice storms and tornadoes and once every few years snow, Houston gets flooding, tropical storms, hurricanes, occasional tornadoes, and once in 20 years a snow, PS last time they said it snowed I personally wouldnt count it, as it was more like visible rain, since as soon as it touched down it melted. School systems are comparable, both citys have schools to avoid and schools that excel. (mainly city schools, vs suburb schools). People in both cities are relatively nice. Houston has a higher immigrant population, AND many New Orleans escapees are still living in Houston, I have heard making jobs more scarce, but I left Houston last year before Katrina hit so I wouldn't know first hand on that.

I will never move back to Houston, Dallas I would.

What kind of people can afford 1 million dollar homes?

I bought a $1.25M house by leveraging a combo of selling a previous rental property and using another rental property for monthly income.Bought a condo 15 years ago for $100K, sold it for $115k, doesn’t sound like a large profit but I collected ~$75k in equity and walked away with $90k. I had another $110k saved up. Had a little help from family (think it was around $25k). So my total down payment was $225k. My mortgage is $4k/month, on a $100k/year income and take-home pay of $5k/mth. I would be cutting it close but have $1.5k rental income from another property I paid off. That rental property was bought for $90k 15 years ago, was paid off and could’ve fetched about $225k on the market. Basically, had I decided to sell it rather than leverage the income I could’ve bought in the $1.75M range but would’ve struggled with monthly mortgage payments. With total monthly income of $6.5k, a $4k mortgage (including tax, insurance), and other bills like utilities-internet totaling $500/mth I got $2k left over. I set aside $250-500/mth for emergency and renovation projects.I’m going well over the 25% rule of thumb on mortgage/income. However, I have no educational debt and minimal credit card debt. No married and no kids. I view my house as a savings account growing at a good interest rate, so the more I put into it the better. I plan to sell the house when it hits $2M, then buy a much smaller place and live extra comfortably.

Hobby LobbyFloor Salesperson/Back Up Cashier in Orlando, FL: (Current Employee) “not for experienced workers, anyone needing an advance schedule,or having competency in crafts,decor-not needed.”
Pros
IF given FT,you will receive min 32hrs and better than min wage(currently $11.) PT work pays $8 &some get less than 15 hrs per WK. The work itself is SIMPLE,no challenges. stores have a loyal following, much Christian decor displayed.
Cons
mgmt not interested in labor: lip service but not practiced. among these "Christians" feels like a viper pit: morale low,back-stabbing,gossip,goldbricks . driving out real workers by cutting hours and keeping those who tow the line(shut up). promised when engaged in slave labor readying store(12-16hrs day x 20 straight days) that you'd get FT spot- then hired new PT for holidays instead of giving those w/"sweat-equity" the hrs. most(even FT) still looking elsewhere.this store does not post schedules in advance=fri find out for week starting mon !? projects need completion?get them to stay late/come early - a little planning, scheduling would go long way. mistakes made receive write ups- but training( yes, WE learned from them) would prevent in first place
