What one thing on a resume makes hiring managers immediately say "pass!"?
Just had this happen yesterday. I submitted a candidate who listed all of the jobs they’ve ever had. When a hiring manager sees too many jobs on a resume they automatically assume you’re a job hopper and they will pass on you.Only list the jobs you’ve had the past 10–15 years if you’re a seasoned veteran. If you’re a new professional only go back 5–10 years.
What would make you immediately dismiss a job candidate?
lateness without a courtesy call- if you are 30 minutes away and your interview starts in 15, you know you’re going to be late, do this to me and I will make you wait to the end. Then tell you we have no time.Body odour that bakes your eyeballs/ personal hygiene issues- in this day and age there really is no excuse for this.entitlement to the point of snowflakery- these types get a real wake up callunexplained gaping plot-holes in the work timeline- I’ll notice, and I’ll ask you questions that will have you cave quicker than a Pennsylvanian coal mine.Jeans- if you turn up to an interview wearing jeans, expect to be back on the lift in ten seconds flat.
What does it mean when a job ad says "immediate hire"?
I would assume that it means what it sounds like and they will hire you right after you apply, but I want to make sure, I'm going to need a jobs soon and if there are some jobs that will just hire you without an interview than I'm probably going to look for one of those, I do still think it would be cool to work in a place like goodwill, but I'll take what I can get. where do you live? that's the most basic part of the question. and who is planning on staying home with the baby when it arrives. that is also a big part of your question as to if you need day or night time work. don't know of any jobs in this economy that are always hiring, and the ones that do need help more than others are usually because the job stinks and there is a big turn over. what about checking with the state where you live to see what they have to offer at the employment bureau also temp services can be helpful by providing a part time job and multiple places which equal a full time job for you
