Just Added Sports Calendar To My Calendar But It Comes With Crazy Alerts I Cannot Turn Off.

My yahoo calendar does not send reminders anymore, I need them?

This stopped working at the same time as email alerts. Yahoo decided not to fix these and pretended it was a deliberate decision to move on to their "core" business - i.e. mobile. OOPS IT AFFECTS CALENDAR, TOO! This makes me so mad - no one ever responded to my ticket even though I waited 2 hours on the phone for tech support. And the phone person said NOTHING about a shift in Yahoo's core strengths: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/setting-yahoo-mail-alerts-yahoo-messenger-sln3244.html - Dudes, you just dumped your core strength in favor of chasing mobile fairies in order to cook your books for a few more months. Ridiculous.

Calendar reminders not working!?

Everyone seems to be having a problem with Calendar lately. Reminders not working. Try this to reinforce them.
1. Click on the Calendar Tab at the top of your address book.
2. Click on the "Options" link in the upper right.
3. Click on "Reminders."
4. Ensure that all boxes are still set as you entered them originally, then click "Save" again.

Note: Found this in a previous answer.
Please check to ensure that the email address "reminders@reply.yahoo.com" is not listed under the blocked addresses section of your Yahoo Mail Account. Calendar reminders come from that address.

Problem is, I checked my blocked addresses list and it wasn't in there, but after I did the steps mentioned above, they started working again. ???

Can't delete calendar events?

Hi Ellen,

Thanks for posting.

If you are syncing your Yahoo! Calendar with a mobile device or another calendar application which syncs with Yahoo! Calendar, it is possible that the application or mobile is adding back the calendar events you remove when syncing.

- To check if this is a possibility, you can disable syncing between the device/application and Yahoo! Calendar, then delete an event and see if it returns as usual.

Additionally, for your reference, I have included the help article which explains the different methods of deleting a calendar event, below:

http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=cont...

If none of the above helps, please let us know in the comments of this question and I'll do my best to follow-up with you.

I hope this helps!

Best,
Peter

Synching to Shutterfly calendar makes my events show up 5 hours early. my time zone settings are correct.?

When I subscribe to other calendars such as Shutterfly, my events show up 5 hours too soon. It is as if they are all GMT when I am EST. All my time zones (Calendar options, personal settings/location) are set to EST. This is driving me crazy.

Should I delete dead friends from my phone contacts?

Yes. Always delete a contact when they die. If you don't you will randomly see their name come up at the worst times. A dead person is not going to be upset with you for moving on and letting go of them. They will not call you and you can't call them. Fill up a medium size balloon with helium and write down their number and a message to them on a card and tape it to the balloon and let it go. Watch it disappear and accept that they are gone. Everyone dies, we have to let them go and then move on with our own lives . There is nothing you can do to bring them back. There is no reason to think about what could have been because what could have been could have been worse.
