Just Got My Ears Pierced With A Gun .i

Can I take my earrings out when I sleep? I just got my ears pierced today and wanted to know if its safe to take them out when I go to sleep.

No. Your lobes take 6–8 weeks to heal, your cartilage takes 12 weeks, and the earrings should not be removed until your holes are healed.Your holes can heal partiially or fully overnight. Even if your piercings stay open, you should not be taking out the earrings and replacing them; it introduces bacteria into the piercings. You should be washing your piercings with unscented soap (I like Ivory) and water, or the wash they gave you. Apply triple antibiotic ointment with a Q-Tip the first three days, then Vaseline. Your hands need to be clean before you treat your piercings.Unfortunately, piercings can be uncomfortable to sleep on. I get it; I sleep with 18 earrings and three other piercings. You can try putting bandaids or soft medical/bandadge tape over the piercing, so you're not poked by the earrings' stems. If you were pierced with the gun, you have extra-long stems, which is one of many reasons not to get pierced by the gun.. If it's the soreness from the act of piercing, there's not much you can do, but it passes. Try sliding down your pillow, so your ears are hanging off your pillow. I've done that. Sometimes after your head has been on the pillow for a few minutes, the pain chills. You can also try sleeping with no pillow, or a flat one, which helps keep a different part of your head resting on the bed. You can take Tylenol, ibuprofen, or other OTC pain meds to help manage the pain as well.Your piercings will heal. It's going to take some time, and there will be pain, but it passes. Good luck!

I just got my ear pierced with a gun, can I use Dioxogen on it? (Contains: hydrogen perioxide 50%)?

NO. Sea salt & warm water only. Hydrogen peroxide drys out the piercing & all the other ingredients in that are unnecessary for a healing piercing. (also, for the future - piercing guns=bad)

I got my ear pierced with a gun what should I do?

The debate between guns and needles will never end. Thousands of people, including me and my children, have had their ears pierced with a piercing gun and never had any problems. In your case, your ears are now pierced, so there is no point in worrying about how they were pierced. The important thing now is to keep them clean for the next six weeks while they heal. Follow the directions you were given for cleaning your ears and turning your earrings and do not try to rush the healing process.

How much does getting ears pierced by a gun hurt?

It really depends on what part of your ear you are getting pierced. Getting your cartilage pierced hurts afterwards more than your earlobe and it also needs longer to heal since its not ‘soft tissue’ like your earlobe. You also need to clean it properly in the way your piercer told you to clean it and I would also recommend leaving the earring in longer than recommended to make sure it's really healed if you want to change it.Where I am from you can only get your earlobes ‘gun-pierced’ and not your cartilage, for other parts of your ear you need to go to a piercing shop and get it pierced with a needle by a professional piercer which can be more expensive. So I am not entirely sure if you are even able to get a cartilage piercing done by a ear piercing gun.Getting your earlobes pierced with the gun hurts a bit and your earlobe goes numb immediately afterwards, but you will notice a pulsating pain throughout the rest of the day and it can also hurt if it gets touched in any way (putting your hair behind your ear, sleeping..). There are also other factors that make, getting your ear pierced by a gun, painful. For example my earring was to tight and it got infected, so you should check if it feels to tight. You should also clean it more often and properly in order to prevent an infection, since gun pierced earrings get infected more easily.Getting your ears pierced by a needle is a lot less painful, you still feel the pain of the needle but it doesn't hurt as much afterwards. It also doesn't pulsate from pain afterwards. The chance of getting an infection from ears pierced by a needle is also lower, or at least that's what I experienced (also since someone will put in the earring per Hand they can tell if it's too tight or too loose). But you still will have pain when you try to touch it too much.Hope I could help! :)

Is it safe to get your ears pierced at Walmart?

I wouldnt at a walmart, just because the employee turnover rate there is so crazy high. However, I’m rolling my eyes at all the self-righteous peeps here being so down on ear guns. Ear guns can be sterilized ( and the gun only touches an area around the pircing spot on an earlobe..not a mucous membrane, and the only part that touvhes the inside of the skin is the earring itself. People handle filthy money and take their cell phones in to the toilet and want to bitch about stupid piercing guns. Definition of stupidity)and they dont do all this major damage to lobes. For gods sake, EVERYONE over 30 probably had them done with a gun. The ones that didn’t probably did it at home. My mother’s friend did hers with a straight needle with a potato held behind her lobe when she was 13. And no, there were no complications. I had mine done at a Claire’s at age 8, with a gun. No complications. Had three cartilages done there as well. Again, no problems. As long as you insist on making sure they alcohol swab your lobes and can check the dots before they pierce, it will be FINE. Most complications in ear piercings are from lack of aftercare, poor cleaning, sleeping on them wrong, etc, not the piercings themselves.. For Pete’s sake, this world is getting to be so damn WIMPY.

I got my ears pierced at Claire's and now I'm afraid I'll get an infection. What should I do?

My daughter's ears were pierced at Walmart.  It's essentially the same thing. You bought a piercing kit with sterile piercing earrings and the clerk disinfected your ears and popped the earrings in with a gun.Now you need to clean each ear at least twice a day with disinfectant on a clean cotton ball. That means a new cotton ball for each ear every time you clean them.Your kit should have come with a bottle of disinfectant.  If it didn't,  you can get a bottle for a couple of dollars at the drug store or a discount store.Your ears will probably get a little red and sore, but don't worry about that.  They have to form thick, tubular scars around the earrings.  Your immune system treats the earrings like an infection that needs to be removed,  so you get the same kind of response as if the ear lobe was infected. After a while, the immune system gives up on fighting and walls off the  intrusion. The result is a tidy little hole in the earlobe where you can hang jewelry.

Ive got my ear pierced with a gun and i used dioxogen on it what now?

First of all, of course it is supposed to hurt. Especially because you got it done with a gun. You just shoved blunt posts through your skin and left them there, basically blunt force trauma. If you get punched, it hurts for quite a while, so think of what a piercing is supposed to do.

Use a sea salt solution to clean them twice a day. Don't use alcohol or peroxide or anything, just sea salt water. Don't touch them or turn them because it causes scarring. Just clean them twice a day and leave them alone. It'll be fine.

I got my ears pierced n now theyre infected??

did you get them pierced with a gun or a needle?
If you got them pierced with a gun, which can't be sterilized, then you are probably having a reaction to the jewelry that you got pierced with, so I would switch out the jewelry to something that is nickel-free
If you got pierced with a needle you might still be having an allergic reaction to the jewelry if it is cheap stainless.
I would find a body piercing parlor in your area that you can have them change the jewelry out to and also what are you cleaning your piercings with?

Ear Piercing???

I just got my ears pierced and the lady told me to twist them two times a day. I got them pierced by a gun. About 2 months ago i had my belly button pierced at a Tattoo & Body piercing place and the lady that did my belly button said that you should not twist your earrings or any jewelery when you get it pierced....and my belly button is healing just fine! So should I twist them or should I not? And if so what happens if it hurts to twist them? Also, how soon should i start twisting them? Thank you for your answers!
