Just Wondering Is It Possible To Get Rejected To This Many Colleges

Is it possible to get into medical school with a D+ on a college transcript?

I doubt they will reject you for one D. They might require you to retake that course that you got a D in because most colleges require a grade of a C or better in order to get credit for a course.

Why are college admissions so unpredictable?

If a school has 1000 spots - and 10,000 stellar applicants, it's really like a crap-shoot for a lot of them, especially on the buble.

Decisions get made for reasons other than, 'this guy is actually 'better' than the ten other guys we rejected'; sometimes it's more like, 'we've got ten great people here, who sounds cool?' - or just 'we've got ten great people here and only room for one of them, they all have 4.2 gpas and played a sport and an instrument, but which one of them is from Kansas, we haven't taken anyone from Kansas for awhile.'

It's not rocket science, it's admissions.

And remember, even the great students are applying to ten schools - so every school gets more applicants than they can take. If Harvard accepted all of the same 10,000 people who applied to Yale - then no one else would get any students and the schools would run out of room.

All of the good students get in somewhere - it's the marginal students who have something to worry about.

You should be more grateful for the great position your parents have put you in and be proud of working hard enough to take advantage of those opportunities.

Is it possible to be rejected from Marshall School of Business, but accepted into USC for different major?

Just wondering, if i didnt get nto usc could i still get into usc as a different major? i was talking to my counselor (im a transfer student) and she said it was absol. possible but i just want more opinions. also, would they tell me on the same letter? like, would it say 'sorry uve been rejected from marshall' but 'your accpeted for(Whatever major)"?

Because i did apply to ucla, uci, ucb and other colleges where you put down 2 majors but they didn't say anything like 'you were rejected for this and this major'. oh yeah, and what 2nd major would get me the best chance of getting in? like should i put undeclared or 'communications' to help me have a better chance of getting in?

Options after getting rejected from Marine NROTC?

Would they let you be a college programmer? If you really did that well, I'm sure they would, and if you really want to be a Marine you'd do it without the money initially

Also, define "pretty decent grades" and "almost aced the PFT"

EDIT: With those numbers you should be able to get into NROTC SOMEHOW, just maybe not as a Marine Option Scholarship Midshipman

What to do if rejected form Med School?

Firstly - don't major in biology just because you want to go to med school. A solid biology education is helpful, but med schools are (supposedly) increasingly more interested in people with varied backgrounds! A biology major is not required... though you will have to meet some basic course requirements. (Experience working in a medical setting is often useful!)

If you do choose biology, you could always do research and/or teach! There are MANY other jobs though... check out this list! http://www.utexas.edu/student/careercenter/careers/biology.pdf

Good luck!
