Kidney Infection Help

How can one help someone who has a kidney infection?

If you or anyone has an kidney infection they maybe having fevers, pain and trouble urinating. First they should see their primary doctor for a urine test to urinate in a cup to see if they have a kidney or bladder infection. A kidney stone or even gravel can cause infections in your kidney. If the urine test shows infection the doctor will get an x-ray or a ultra sound scan to see if there is a stone causing the problem. If they do have a stone then the primary doctor will send them to a urologist. If you wanted to help your friend make sure they drink plenty of water, they can take ibuprofen for the pain and fever. Good luck

Kidney infection or herpes? HELP?

I am a 17 year old female, and I have experienced a kidney infection in the past and have struggled with UTI's plenty of times that can potentially lead to a kidney infection. It all started maybe two weeks ago when I had painful urination, so I purchased uti relief medication and it kind of helped but not as much as I had anticipated. Then I experienced slight itching around my vulva and decided that maybe I had a yeast infection, so then I purchased Micanozole and it relieved the itching and kind of helped with the painful urination. I was fine and just ignored the painful urination up until two days ago when I started to experience back pain (which I thought was just from work) and then maybe 45 minutes later my skin started to hurt like a fever was coming on, then shortly after I began to have a headache. Then the pain in my back moved to my left kidney. Since then I have been running a fever and it feels like I have a migraine, also I still have pain in my left kidney when I move in certain directions. My boyfriend and I are sexually active. He was diagnosed with herpes when he had a blood drawing, and he caught it early enough to where it is only in his blood. He has never experienced an outbreak and we have protected sex with condoms. While researching kidney infections the option of herpes popped up and it began to scare me...so I don't know if I just have another kidney infection or if its herpes???? I need professional input because I am not looking forward to telling my mom. I am going to the doctor today in a couple of hours but I am not intending on bringing up herpes to the doctor or my mom.

What helps a kidney infection for pain?

The only thing that helped me was to get antibiotic's and I also used ibuprofen and lot of water. Being treated with the right antibiotic will ease the pain. The ibuprofen will help with taking the edged off and is good for bring any fever down. The water flush’s out the bacteria letting healing begin. But you must get the antibiotic most important of all.

Can someone help me??? could this be a kidney infection?

Alright, my back has been hurting for about 2 weeks now and it doesnt go away! It hurts so bad that at times i start to get teary eyed. I cant sit down for very long then i have to lay down so my back will stop hurting. then after i lay there for a bit it starts hurting again and i have to get back up. i can barely sleep at nights. because i wake up to my back hurting then i have to get comfortable again. So I talked to my mom and she said it could be a kidney infection. Is this true? And we have school tomorrow. Should I not go to school and go to the doctors and get checked out?

Lastly, my knee. My right knee has also really been hurting me. i cant have my legs crossed for more than 1-2 minutes until it hurts really really bad. then i have to extend it. and if i get on my knees, or sqwat, its so hard for me to get back up. i can barely get on the back of my dads truck, i have to take it easy. so someone please help me

Should i smoke if i have a kidney infection?

not necessarily...your kidneys clean out your blood stream and your bodys waste and help you pee out waste..so i dont think smoking would affect it as much because smoking doesnt have to do with what comes out of your body as waste...alothough smoking primarily damages the lungs and esophagus though it doesnt go directly to your kidneys i wouldnt think..but reguardless the smoke does affect the overall body so i would atleast cut down a bit maybe until the infection is gone

HELP please, possible kidney infection?

I was supposed to have my period around the 10th of June and it didn't come; then on the 13th of June, i had unprotected sex, and had to get hte morning after pill. So i took the morning after pill that day; and now it's the 18th of June, and i started having cramps and got my period. Is this possible? I'm having very sever cramps in my lower abdomen and could it possibly be a kidney infection?

What can i eat/drink with a kidney infection?

Having been there myself be sure not to drink water with minerals like gatorade or Powerade or Smartwater since it's possible that those things help cause kidney infections even stones. You can drink water tab or bottle but try to limit it to water not enhanced with minerals or sugary things. I believe what you are trying to remember is Cranberry juice. In the case of stones it can help them pass. I think it's the citric acid that helps but not a doctor. I actually had fun when I had my infection though it's painless. I impressed the doctors & nurses with how tough I was. I threw up alot which was why I went to the er but I drove myself like a real man. Supposeably kidney infections & stones are similar to giving birth. Hope you feel better. Sorry reminder if you try Cranberry juice dont get the sugery type get the pure real kind.

How do UTIs differ from a kidney infection?

A kidney infection is in the kidney. While a UTI is an infection is an infection that can be in a number of places in the urinary tract, could be in you bladder, or urethra even the kidney. With a UTI you will have a burning sensation when you urinate and may feel that you still need to urinate after, there maybe a odor and the urine maybe bloody or cloudy. You may feel back pain. An infection can travel up into your kidneys so, it could also be called a UTI. It may seen that it is always a UTI, but a kidney stone can also cause an infection, which is just in the kidney and will cause back pain. But a stone can move out of the kidney causing a UTI. Hope this information was helpful.
