Why do kids sit in the front passenger seat?

you know how you see kids sitting in the front seat of the car all the time. is that against the law? for kids to sit in the front seat in the car. cause I would sit in the back a lot and my brother would sit in the front.

Kids fighting over the front seat?

Simple, they take it in turns.
My youngest gets front seat whenever older 2 aren't around, but when we have all 3, the oldest normally sits in front, sometimes they will argue, so whoever doesn't argue and sits in back gets the ds or iPad or DVD player, that's what works for me.

What to do, when your kids fight over the front seat? The oldest is 14(girl) the other 12(boy) my daughter?

says, that if she has to sit in the back seat, she just won't go. The twelve year old is anxious and feels mistreated. The oldest says, ladies should get to sit up front. My daughter is strong willed and says she doesn't care where we are she just won't get back in the car. Yes, it sounds easy enough to say, "just leave her there" but, it could and would turn into a really stressful event for me. Both children can be very reasonable most of the time. I was pretty much an only child... so I never had to deal with these kinds of things. What is a reasonable conversation to have about this besides, "because I said so". thanks

How do you know when your child can sit in the front seat?

My honest thoughts on this is that if your child is tall enough to sit without a booster seat, they are good to go as far as sitting in the front. My parents were a little more strict and made us wait until after we each turned 12 to let us sit in the front seat. HOWEVER, according to this article by LIVESTRONG.COM - Simple Healthy Living no kid under 13 should sit in the front[1] . I have attached the direct link to the article[2] .Direct LinkHeight Requirement for a Child Riding in the Front SeatFootnotes[1] Height Requirement for a Child Riding in the Front Seat[2] Height Requirement for a Child Riding in the Front Seat

Child seat in the front of a works van?

You can use the front seat, but only as the absolute last resort. It is the most dangerous place to put a child under the age of 13..in a carseat or not in one....with or without an airbag. The reason is that since 95% of accidents are frontal or side impact crashes, you are actually moving them closer to the impact. People think that you "stand still" in an accident, but you don't. EVEN in a carseat. Did you know that even in a carseat (without using a top tether) their little heads go forward 32"? Using the top tether, their heads go forward 28"...that is in just a 30mph, one vehicle, head on crash. Their spines only stretch 2"...their nerves and brain stem do not. (that's why we recommend rear facing until the weight limits of their convertible carseat)

IF you HAVE to put your child in the front seat, push the vehicle seat all the way back. Install the seat as tight as possible. You will want to tighten the straps a smidge tighter than normal so it will keep the child as far back from the dashboard area.

What age can child ride in front seat Texas?

I looked at 3 sites for Texas and nowhere do they state that the child cannot ride in the front of the vehicle at any age. There is no age and weight restrictions, although as you obviously know, there can be no air bag in the front. So, you can have your infant seat in the front if you so choose.

My suggestion is to clarify at your local police station to make sure no laws have changed. When I had the passenger side air bag disabled, they put a big sticker on the dash in front of the passenger seat that says AIR BAG DISABLED, so that it is clear to any officer that there is no air bag. If your car never had air bags, they can certainly SEE that the car doesn't come with them.

My state also does not restrict where you can put the child so long as the child is in an appropriate safety seat or booster. However, when I am transporting OTHER people's children, say my cousin's son, I ask for their ok before placing a child in the front seat. Some people don't understand that the reason for the back seat law is because of air bags as the back seat is NO SAFER than any other seat.

Finally, because a lot of people don't think of this, keep in mind that if you travel to another state, you have to follow their laws. So even though Texas might permit front seat usage by children, a neighboring state or one on your itinerary may not.

Why do most Indian kids cry to sit in the front seat of a car beside the father, while western kids sit on back seat & let mother sit beside the father?

Car safety science says children are not supposed to sit in the front as there are chances the air bag injury, in the event of an accident .this is because the airbag is designed for an adult height.Hence all children are adviced to be seated in a car seat in the back seat. Many countries enforce it strictly with massive fines and hence all the children are conditioned from birth to sit in car seats. Even for a new born baby , one needs a car seat before being discharged from the hospital. Now the same child when comes to India will insist to sit in the front . Since the front of the car has better view than the back seat and due to all the gadgets in the front, children insist to sit in front. This is where the parent have to put their foot down and enforce the rule .Most indian parent are lax when it comes to this . I have seen many children in the front and the poor mother in the back. If you look gender wise , it is always the boy child that is seen sitting in front while his sister would be at the back with his mother. This can also be seen as a reflection of the patriarchal mentality of the Indian mindset .Many times it will be the other male member of the family in front while the wife and mother of the driver will be sitting at the back. Even of the wife wants to sit, often the child creates a tantrum which the in-laws , husband will support and the end result is the wife in the back seat. It is always better to keep the child in the child's place and give the spouse their deserved place - be it the case of the car seating or any other thing in life .
