Kinda Of An Interesting Question About Politics Humanity And The Internet If You Could Become

Can the internet become a living brain?

The important part is "how would we know if it did?"

Lets assume that it is (or will become a brain) responding to stimuli, what are those stimuli?
With animal brains we know intimately what senses are connected and the results of stimulating those senses, and even the mechanincs of how those stimuli are processed, but still have virtually no comprehension of the algorythms involved.

So, with the internet we can monitor and measure, we can analyse it all, but knowing the activity in someones brain does not tell us what they are thinking.

A more "us centric" and therefore more approriate? approach would be to consider it from a sociological point, what effect does rapid boundless communcication, combined with extreme peer pressure have on us as individuals and groups.

Something more... assume that the internet is (or does become) a thinking brain, is it the only one (yes surely), how does it stay sane in total isolation from any others of its kind.

Why doesn't God use the internet to communicate directly with all of us, instead of playing hide and go seek? Why not just show him/herself?

Because you would pretend that it was somebody pretending to be God.

Is the internet access a basic human right?

No, the internet, like homeownership and healthcare, are byproducts of prosperity. If they were anything more, the poorest of nations would be debating national healthcare just as we are. They are not because they do not have the prosperity to support private healthcare for their wealthiest, let alone government run healthcare for all.

Not having the internet does not inhibit one's right to communicate. However, one's ability to communicate is greatly enhanced by the internet. Unfortunately, the ability to transmit data and images around the globe does not appear to be a fundamental human right.

Ironicly, we are jeopardizing our prosperity, from which top notch healthcare flows, by trying to prove that healthcare is something more than a luxury of the prosperous.

"This whole internet thing is just a fad. People will get sick of email and surfing the web, and go back to writing letters and watching I Love Lucy." - said to me by the father of a former classmate in 1994

Will the internet revolutionise the lives of every human being?

when i was in school i used to go to the library and look information up by way of books, i used to go to the store a buy stuff
if you ask me, i think the internet make people more lazy than smoking weed

Why do people posting answers on Quora while completely evading the question?

Most questions on Quora are unanswerable by anyone but the person asking the question. For example people ask these 'what should I do?’ type questions, or questions about psychology, politics, human behaviour etc. These questions which don't have answers can be interpreted as a question looking for a direct answer or else as a question looking for new perspectivesFor example with your own question you may be asking it as a genuine search for knowledge about this for your psychology major thesis, or you may just have a layman's interest in what goes through the mind of someone who posts an answer which seems irrelevant. Or you may just have asked a question and been offended by the answers and now you're looking to make a public statementI could assume that this is best case scenario where the answers you are referring to really don't answer the question. For example when someone asks a question like 'if X is 2 and y is 2, what is X * y?' and someone answers 'your mom is a whore'. But then it seems ridiculous to speculate about why they haven't answered the question. Then again maybe they think they're providing motivation to the questioner to get off their lazy ass and find out the answer themselvesIt entirely depends on people's approach to the internet how they answer questions and it entirely depends on the nature of the person reading the answer to decide on it's relevanceSo yes in not answering your question I might be trying to demonstrate to myself my own self perceived intelligence, or I could be trying to help a fellow Quoran think outside the box, or I could be trying to make a human connection over the internet, or many other possible reasons, each interaction on the internet is uniqueIf you are having a hard time, you can seek help from other peopleIn a strange way everyone is in the same boat

How would it change your life if suddenly the Internet ceased to exist?

This is actually an interesting question to answer. If we have to live without internet then if we think practically, everything will be a mess, for those who use to study on the internet, for those for whom the internet is the only source of entertainment, for those for whom the internet is the only source of getting attached with someone.Life will be a little impossible for them but there is a good thing about Human Beings, we are very good at seeking alternatives.Sooner of later we will adapt ourselves to this change and will better come up with some good alternative. Maybe even better. This is Human tendency. For what we feel bad at some point in life. We keep looking for its alternative more than anything. Now some companies like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon will be of no use. Many online shopping portals will shut down. People will get unemployed, robberies will increase, the crime rate will increase. A havoc will be created all over the world.Software engineers will be just a topic of jokes. And last but not the least, "NO QUORA".

If aliens came to Earth, what kind of questions would they ask on Quora?

I was signing up for Google and was asked if I'm human. Do they have separate databases for my kind? Our race just caught hold of this thing called Voyager 1 with all sorts of creepy crawlies. What's this mean? This NASA keeps sending me signals from “humans”. Should I reply? Are they dangerous?Parroniacs vs Kleptomaniacs. Who'll win?I have §95,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. Will I be able to buy a light speed spaceship?I am successful in making objects go FTL. What do I do?Why is intergalactic travel considered mainstream?Do you believe in humans? Will humans eat us if they ever come to meet us?(I know I'm a poet)If humans had Quora, what kind of questions would they ask?

Do you believe the internet brings more harm than good?

Do you think the internet, overall, brings more harm than good, vice versa, or somewhere in-between?
What would you say are some "examples" of the internet being "harmful" or "beneficial"?
What about MAL, do you think this site is overall a "good" thing, or a "negative" stain on the canvas of cyber space?

Some debatable pros and cons on zhe interwebs:
Pros:
-The internet has increased economic and creative prosperity in a levelled way.
-The internet is a near limitless source of information.
-The internet allows for another means of socialization, keeping in contact with people and meeting new people you may not be likely to come across in your usual day-to-day environment.
-The internet allows people to express and advertise themselves in many shapes and forms.

Cons:
-The internet has allowed a large amount of criminal, offensive and discriminatory information to be easily accessed.
-The internet can be a threat to privacy.
-The quality of information online cannot always be relied upon.
-The internet allows for "cyber bullying" and another means for stalkers to gain information (potentially harmless, or more personal info) on a person.

Converse and stuff.

What happens when you loose all respect for humanity?

this is why you always hear about the world being such a bad place.
the people in it are terrible, and if you think about it, if you keep acting
this way, you are only contributing to it.

yes, it is very hard to witness, or just to live with in general, but you
have to keep in mind that there are still good people in the world. it
& that it is natural for people to be a little selfish, but just think of
how far we've come to even realize there is such a thing as selflessness.

also remember that most people have good intentions, they do not realize
they are doing any harm. you just view people that way because you are blind
to anything that does not agree with your outlook.
people also tend to dwell on the negative and let positive things go unnoticed.
this is because we expect everything to go our way if we see it as correct,
and when things don't go as we plan in our minds, we have trouble understanding why.

this is the position you are in right now. you are mad
at the world, and you are feeling helpless because this place is so big,
you feel like you have no power, no influence, even though you're only
trying to do good. you are treating people like crap because you feel like
crap yourself, and you figure whats the difference, other people are just
as small and pointless. you think people are just horrible & selfish, even
though it's just human nature.

the problem is that people realize how bad the world is, complain
endlessly, and never do anything about it. eventually something good
happens to them, they focus on their own lives. and they forget how
badly in need this world is altogether. and nothing gets done.

the least you can do is be nicer to people. there is no reason to
be angry, because you cannot honestly say you've ben selfless
your entire life.

unfortunately all you can do is accept it and move on. find solace in yourself,
reach self-actualization. know who YOU are. then you can move on to
accomplish great things, and change lives. who knows, maybe even
change the world. have hope.
