Kitten With The Runs.

Kitten follows me then runs away?

Your cat may have been a semi feral kitten before you adopted him. He needs more socialization. Give him time to come to you. He follows you because you are now his family, but he is scared. I have fostered many feral kittens and if they are feral it can take 3 to 4 months for them to come around, but when they do, they are the best cats.
I would sit down and when he comes to you, give him a food treat. After a few times of this I would lightly stroke him and speak softly while he gobbles down the treat. Do not chase him or force him to interact with you. Since he isn't hiding from you it shouldn't take too long for him to come around. Congratulations on your new friend

My kitten runs away when i come to pet her. Why?

Make sure you aren't running to her. The cat may be getting startled by sudden movement. The best idea is to let her come to you. Talk to her and sit by her. Eventually she'll come up to sniff you and then you can slowly pet her. After awhile she'll get used to you so you can pet her whenever. Just move slowly and make sure she can see you coming. She might just be skittish and not used to petting yet.

Plus if she's a young kitten or a new addition to the house she might be still exploring and figuring out what is what.

Good luck!

What should I do if my 10-week-old kitten has gotten the runs?

First thing you should do is make an appointment for your cat to be seen by a veterinarian. Your kitten may have intestinal parasites (worms) or one of many serious illineses or infections that can cause diarrhea. While you're waiting for your appointment, feed your kitten equal parts boiled or baked chicken and white rice. This bland diet should help slow the diarrhea. You can also opt to use pure baby food (puréed) chicken as long as you check the ingredients and make sure there is no onion or garlic added—most brands don't contain them but a couple brands do (onion and garlic are toxic to cats). Another thing you can try feeding your kitten is canned pumpkin. Many cats love it and it has been used in both cats and dogs to curtail diarrhea as well as constipation (it is considered an equalizer for the intestinal tract).Good luck!

My kitten has the runs and poops while he is farting and doesn't realize!!?

He is around 12 weeks old.. he has been wormed just recently but keeps doing it.. we have to wash him all the time and he mostly does it when he sleeps and when people are holding him.. he also does it when he purrs but he seriously never realizes he is doing it.. i guess he thinks he is just farting.. we feed him whiskas and he has plenty of water.. any ideas as to why he might be doing this and what can stop it??
Thanks

How do i find my kitten that ran away :( :( :(? in runescape it ran away cuz i didnt give it attetion?

put up some posters

Kitten has the runs... He keeps standing/sitting in it...?

Quality canned foods do NOT give the cats the runs. More likely he has some sort of parasite causing it. Has he been to the vet to be checked for worms, coccida, and giardia? If not, then there you go - and whatever he has, so does your other cat. Most kittens tend to come with the added "bonus" of parasites, and those can cause diarrhea. So can foods with corn. The dry food he's eating is probably from the grocery store - and that means it's practically all corn. Corn isn't digested well by cats, and undigested food can lead to large and stinky poos, and the runs.

He is pooing all over the house because he can't help it. Until you can get him to the vet keep him confined to one easy-to-clean room like a powder room. Get him a food - preferably canned - that is free of corn, wheat, or soy. Since he's got the runs, he NEEDS the extra moisture from the canned food to keep him from becoming dehydrated.

ETA - never, ever starve a cat to get them to eat something they do not want. Cats can go into liver failure (hepatic lipidosis) in 3-5 days of not eating. And yes, some cats will starve themselves rather than eat something they don't like.

My new kitten runs around like crazy at night, and wakes me up and annoys my other resting cats.?

I live in a 1 bedroom apartment. I have two older cats and one new young cat who is about 5 to 6 months old. At first he followed the other cats example by going to sleep at night. He just woke up earlier and starting running around. That wasn't that big of a deal. I just put him in the other room early in the morning for a while. Now he stays up all night, and runs around like crazy back and forth, and torments the other sleeping cats trying to play fight them all the time, even when they are trying to sleep. If I put him in the other room alone, he just meows and meows for attention, and I cant sleep. If I put a cat in there with him, he seems to do fine, but then the other cats are not getting their normal rest. My question is will this new kitten grow out of this? is this just temporary? any suggestions?

Why does my kitten run from room to room, look at me, run away again but has a bushy tail and arched back? She looks at something then runs away every time I look at her. She is normal after a while though.

She is likely trying to entice you to play with her. The bushy tail and arched back are threat displays cats do in either a mock battle or a real one. She goes back to normal when she decides that you are too stupid to pick up on the invitation to play and she has tired herself out.You are too big to play tag with her, or to fight with, her, and if you tried you would really scare her. But your hand is about the right size to stand in for another kitten. You can play stalking games with her where your hand hides and then pounces out and chases her a bit, maybe knocks her over before retreating for her to take her turn attacking your hand. But be careful, kittens will use their teeth and claws in play, and they are sharp enough to really hurt you or cause a scatch that will get infected, since they use their paws in the litterbox, too. If your kitten attacks your hand, do not fight back, make it totally limp, and the kitten will let go once it has “killed” its prey. Normally they do not use enough force to hurt you when playing, but if your “attacks” are violent enough to really scare them, they will defend themselves and bite or scratch hard enough to wound you. This is not a good idea, because while it is cute when a kitten plays a bit rough, you don’t want to train it as an adult to bite and scratch. If the kitten doesn’t stop biting and scratching when you go limp, use the “kitty curse word” and hiss at it like a pi55ed off adult cat, and the kitten will leave off attacking and go scrambling for cover.Better than teaching your kitten to attack your body parts, have it attack substitute prey, like a toy mouse on a string, a piece of string or rope, a long feather, or a beam of light from a flashlight in a darkened room. Balls that roll inside a donut shape with a grove on the edge so their paws can reach inside to move the balls works well for self-entertainment for a lot of cats. They love it when it seems their prey is just getting away from them, and if you don’t have the toy mice on a string, be prepared to sweep them out from under all the furniture daily after the cat has chased them their out of reach.

My kitten will not stop running around and biting!?

My kitten is a little over two months old. And she is drivingg me nuts !
I gave her lots of my old toys small / big toys to chew on and she does, but like maybe she doedn't get enough of it? Cuz she still wants to play with my hands! And foot! Like when im just walking or standing she would like jump to my legs and bite it and run away , at times she scares me so much its not funny. Yesterday i was giving her bread and she bit my ring finger so hard , it bled. And today she scratched my face and it bled a little.
Yes, this is my first time owning a cat or kitten. Is it always gonna be this way? And she just runs around all over and i can't even stop or catch her! And she knocks few things !
I wanna try the spray bottle things but im scared shes gonna like freak out even more. I also try whenever she bites, i tap on her nose and face gently , but it doesn't seem to work.
Please help :/

It's been around a month, but still the kitten runs away every time I try to hold her or pet her. Why is it that the kitten hasn't become friendly yet even when I have been giving it food for more than a month? Why is it still scared to come near me?

If it is a feral kitten living outside, I’m surprised you can even get near it. Why is it still afraid even though you feed it? Because it isn’t tame. You have to have a lot more patience.First off, never try to approach the kitten while it’s eating. In fact, don’t approach it at all. Put the food down and move away. Sit in a chair situated nearby, but not so close the kitten won’t come eat. Then read a book, write a novel, play with your phone, do anything but pay any attention to the kitten. Leave after the kitten leaves.Do this for a week or longer. Then start moving the chair closer, maybe an inch at a time. Don’t move more than an inch a day, and don’t move every day. Eventually, you want to be feeding the kitten directly beside you. But still don’t pay any attention to it.Then (after a few more weeks), go out with your book or whatever and don’t put the food down. Have the food with you, but don’t put it down. Read your book and wait for the kitten to come up. When it mews or otherwise “asks” for its food, put the food down. But otherwise ignore the kitten as usual.Gradually, as the kitten gets more and more used to you, you can introduce contact as you put the food down. You start by just leaving your hand down near the food dish after you put the food down. You withdraw your hand after the kitten comes up to eat. You leave it for longer times until the kitten shows no concern about it. Then you can dangle your hand closer to the kitten. It all depends on the how the kitten adjusts to your presence. If the kitten gets pushy and barges toward the food dish when you feed it, you can put the food down so that your hand is toward the kitten. She’ll have to brush against your hand to get to the food.Basically, with cats you have to let them decide when they want to be petted. This pretty much applies to any cat, feral or tame, but a feral one will take much longer before it trusts you enough to want human contact. If you can catch the kitten and keep it inside, you may be able to tame it faster, but you will have to never let it outdoors, and the process will still take time. Some feral cats will never let themselves be touched by a human no matter how long they’ve known you and been fed by you. It’s just the way cats are.
