Know Where I Can Find Any Cheap Skiing Deals

Cheap snowboard /ski clothing?

You can spend a ton of money but you don't need to. Polyester fleece is a skiers best friend, and think layers! Don't worry about how you look.

Invest in decent ski gloves. These are important. Then get some hand warmers for inside of them, if you will be skiing in cold conditions.

Get a fleece hat and neck warmer, and some warm socks. I like the ones used by hunters that are nice and thick, and made to wick moisture away.

Get a moisture wicking tee shirt, maybe a turtleneck and fleece pull over, plus fleece pants. You can get this kind of gear specially designed for skiing, but it is not really necessary if you are on a budget.

Get a jacket that is a bit long (like, down over your butt) and has several zipper or velcro closure pockets, and some kind of pants (lined, nylon, waterproof maybe, but if so, get gore-tex). The pants will be the trickiest part, probably, because most likely you will only wear them for outdoor winter activities. Both jacket and pants should be loose fitting enough that you can wear your fleece stuff underneath.

Look in sporting goods stores - if you are in a part of the country where there are Modell's Sporting Goods, they will have all of this stuff at prices for someone on a budget. Discount department stores like Kohl's will have very acceptable ski jackets from manufacturers like Columbia.

Finally, if you can borrow any of this from another skier, try to do so. Don't take gear from someone who doesn't ski (unless it matches up real well with how I described the items above), chances are they will give you something that is not suitable.

And above all, do not wear anything that is too small or too tight.

Where can I find cheap ski packages?

Probably the best place to find cheap ski packages is through local ski clubs. Local and regional ski clubs typically offer a very wide range ski deals. Our local club in the Albany NY area, the Out of Control Ski Club offers trips out West, in the East and to Europe, that are very reasonable. Other clubs also provide similar deals. of course these deals involve traveling and lodging with a group, but in return for that you get terrific savings, paying maybe half the regular cost for flights, lodging and tickets.

Is there a way to cheat the expense of skiing?

So my friends and I came up with a great idea, and this question is me just wondering but kind of half serious. Everyone knows how expensive skiing is, with adult/teen one day ski passes ranging from $90-$120+. Nobody wants to pay that, but we think it could possibly work.

My friends and I are going to buy ski tickets online this week, (we are 17 and 18, so tickets are like $96) and we noticed children's tickets are MUCH cheaper, in the $60's. So heres the hypothetical situation: Because its online, obviously no one knows who we are, so we'd buy a couple of children tickets, and a couple of teen tickets. I'm assuming we'd just get a print out version of the ticket, and we'd need to take it to the resort to get the actual ticket, and we'd have one person go alone with these ticket receipts and get all the tickets for the "family." Then when we all had our actual tickets we'd just go to the lift (children tix at different times/lifts) But 1st, Can they even determine child tickets? But even if one of the people scanning was like "uh you're not a child" we could act all surprised and say something like "Oh shoot I must have taken my brothers ticket on accident, but he's all the way up at the condo with my parents." and depending on how much this dude cares, probably not much, he might question us a little more, and let us go up.

Now, this is just a basic idea, but in all seriousness, does anyone know the true protocol for this? Is this a loophole that really could work?

Where can I buy cheap ski gear?

I shop at www.skis.com they have great clearance and closeout deals.

Ski dazzle? is there really cheap stuff?

Why is everyone so into the Lib tech gear? Hahha! Cracks me up!

Yes. Ski Dazzle has some great deals!
I got my little sister a Burton Feelgood for 75% off last time.

Ski Dazzle carries all of the gear from some major companies from the seasons before. You won't find much of the '09-'10 seasons gear, but you will find '09-'08-'07 and possibly some older gear there. It doesn't matter if it's new.. right? Some of the best deals on boards are the ones that have been used as rentals, they are basically new, with a few scratches here and there, but they go cheap and fast.

If you want to find the best stuff there, go the first or second day. Don't wait! It will all be gone! I would recommend going to Ski Dazzle to anyone who is looking for a deal.

Happy shredding!

Snow skiing is an expensive sport?

Compared to what?

The actual skiing doesn't have to be expensive. There are all sorts of lift ticket deals to be had.

But after you factor in equipment, clothing, travel, accommodations, etc. it can get rather expensive.

What ski area in New England has the cheapest lift tickets?

it's painful — since it's not easy to find a cheap ski are in NE. Normally, the cheaper, the more crowded, and the worse/poorer the ski trail. When I was young. my family sent me to Skiward in Shrewsbury, where the ski tickets are relatively cheaper, and they sometimes offer $10 for two (bring a pal to ski on Wednesdsy for free, etc) Howrver, after my ski skill improved, the cheaper ski area did not attract me any more. I no longer go there even though the ticket price is still cheaper than Wachusetts mountain, for example. So you need to consider a lot of aspects when asking for pricing …. Overall , for all ski areas, the night ski and weekday ski (non holidays) are cheaper. You can also Google for certain hotels near the ski area— they offer the cheaper ski package — stay one night and get tow ski tickets etc. Good luck !

What’s the cheapest way to buy lift passes for skiing?

The cheapest skiing per day, under any circumstances is to buy a season ski pass. Of course that is a waste of time if you go very little. Having said that, the most expensive skiing per day, is to walk up to the ticket window and ask for a single day lift ticket. There are hundreds of ski areas across the USA, from Maine to Southern California, with many located in the midwest. It really depends on where you are and when you want to go. Most ski areas have discount programs that sell lift tickets through ski shops, retailers, grocery stores…even Costco, at a discount.Do your research, keep your options going, and believe it or not…just call the ticket office of a couple ski areas you are thinking about, (call after Noon, when they are not busy), and just ask. The employees will generally share the options with you. They are usually quite friendly, and understand that people are looking for what they can afford.
