Why does my Airsoft gun shoot to the right?

Trouble shoot list, from the easiest to fix to more complicated problems:You are tilting when you are firing. This cannot be fixed due to how airsoft guns function - the gun uses a hop system to “spin” the bullet such that it goes up instead of a perfect straight line to increase range. You must fire the gun more-or-less up straight.Your sights are somehow tilted to the left. This is easy to fix as you can just tilt it back to the left if you are allowed to do so, or zero the sights if possible. There is too much pressure applied to the hop up rubber. This is also very easy to fix - just reduce the amount of hop applied to the gun (refer to your gun’s manual on how to modify the hop of the gun) and usually it will fix the problem. The hopup rubber is messed up, either because it is way too worn, have too much residue on it, or is not positioned correctly. Usually, disassemble the hopup unit, replace/fix the rubber placement (depending on if it is damaged or just not placed correctly) will do the trick.Dirty barrel (thanks Grant Garlock). Take the barrel out and do some cleaning with a cleaning rod and a cotton with alcohol. The barrel is not centered correctly. The cheapest way to fix it is to use duct tapes and wrap around the barrel, just sufficient to let the barrel go back and be inserted into the outer barrel while wouldn’t wobble as you shoot. The inner barrel is messed up, either by misalignment, really bad quality or actually bent/deformed. This is trickier and usually not possible to fix without buying a replacement.Air tightness problems. This is unlikely but might be possible.

Airsoft warriors...?

Truth is, shooting real guns takes maturity to handle and a big investment of time to be proficient at it. This normally means the only shooters you have are ones where their fathers introduced them into the sport.

And yet there are some guys who see guns on TV and guns in video games, and want to emulate what they see. Unfortunately due to our sissyfied and overly PC culture they have a fear of real guns. So airsoft lets them play around with cool looking toys. In their minds this makes them just as cool as the movie characters they see. It can be a big ego blow when one of these guys finally shoots a real 9mm, realizes it kicks, and realizes that there is more to shooting than just yanking a trigger, because none of his shots are on target, and everyone else around him is blasting tight groups in the bullseye. Yet the airsoft takes so little investment of time, like so much in today's culture, it is instant gratification. This is due to no recoil, plus the accuracy being of a level that it just isn't judged the same, so their lack of control is never called to the fore. (No airsoft in town will deliver even old AK level of accuracy, putting 3 shots in a 10" ring at 100 yards)

This mix of fear and attaction, of trying to prove themselves yet also being aware of their inadequacies is a volitile emotional mix, and they are often overly defensive of their hobby.

Besides, unless given lots of proper disipline when young, boys age 15-25 tend to be mouthy know-it-alls and general bick-heads when left to their own devices.

And most boys in today's world weren't given enough attention and disicpline

What should I do if my Airsoft bullets swerve to the right?

Consistent curving of the BB is generally due to one of three things, depending on the aggressiveness of the curve.Subtle Curve: Your barrel is probably dirty. A dirty barrel in a brand spanking new gun is extremely common. Solution: Clean your barrel. Take a bowl of warm water and add a drop or two of soft soap. Use your cleaning rod with cloth, along with the cleaning solution to clean your inner barrel. Do not use silicon oil to clean your barrel. You need that added friction from the barrel for consistent trajectory.Consistent yet Subtle Curve: Your hop-up is misaligned. Yes the hop-up influences the trajectory along the Y-axis (height), but if it’s twisted or the spacer/nub isn’t sitting properly, that Y-axis can rotate a bit and now you have a subtle curve along the X-axis (left or right). Solution: Disassemble then reassemble the hop-up components. Usually the misalignment is so subtle, that just by looking at the parts, you won’t see it. So just take the thing apart and put it back together. It may take 2 or 3 assemblies.Aggressive Curve: This is something I typically see with a bent barrel or when a player is using a mock suppressor that isn’t quite threaded properly. Solution: Remove and replace the mock suppressor/barrel extension. Be sure the threads catch properly this time. If it continues or you don’t have a barrel extension, check your inner barrel. It may be bent or you may have an imperfection at the end of the barrel. It’s typically easiest to replace the barrel, but for imperfections at the end, you can sometimes fix them depending on the severity.
