Laptop Connecting/disconnecting From Wifi Loop

How can we disconnect other users from my WiFi without telling them?

I think your question is "How to disconnect the users from WiFi without their permission/approval" because when you will disconnect someone from WiFi they will obviously notice. Why?They won't be able to access the internetTheir device will indicate no connectivity on UI.So, let's focus on the part to forcibly remove users from your WiFi and prevent them from connecting again. If it is your WiFi and you have access to Access Point control panel then by following ways you can achieve this:If it is an open network, enable MAC filtering and only allow your devices MAC. However they can circumvent this by spoofing their MACs to permitted one.If your network is an encrypted one, just change the password and reboot the device. They will disconnect and won't be able to connect due to unknown password. The other way is when you don't want to rely on encryption to prevent them. In this case you can DoS their device, so it can't connect to WiFi. This is done by most of the WIPS (Wireless Intrusion Prevention Systems) to keep out unauthorized devices.Note: This is illegal if you DoS devices on other networks (on which you don't have permission)It requies an wireless adaptor with packet injection capabilities, airmon-ng and aircrack-ngFollwoing links explains how to do thishttp://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku....http://hackaday.com/2011/10/04/w...Always remember, this is illegal if you target other's infrastructure and you can always be traced.Hope it hepls. :)Upvote if you like the answer and follow me for more answers related to WiFi security, Cryptography, IoT security and Cyber Forensics.

Can a weak 5 year old battery of a laptop cause internet connection problems?

My Toshiba laptop seems to drop it's connection from time to time when connected wirelessly, but with charging line still pluged in. I do not have the same problem with a newer laptop recently purchased.

How do I avoid frequent disconnection of BSNL Broadband?

BSNL is the leading ADSL Broadband service provider of India. It provides high speed & stabilized broadband connection in rural as well as urban areas across the country over Copper pair by ADSL Technology. But as BSNL uses old POTS underground copper pair for providing the ADSL broadband internet connection thus customer faces few problems in internet connection like frequent disconnection or slow speed problem due to excessive impedance in Copper loop especially during rainy season. One of the main problems that we find in accessing BSNL broadband is frequent disconnection of internet during surfing. At the time of disconnection when you will see the Modem, then you will notice that DSL/ ADSL LED is blinking. There are various suspected reasons for LED blinking.Reasons for frequent disconnection of BSNL Broadband:High Impedance in Copper Pair coming from BSNL CO to your premises, resulting Low SNR Margin.More than technological distance limit from BSNL CO to your premises, resulting Higher Attenuation. (NOTE: Now a days BSNL providing ADSL 2+ broadband technology and for which limit is maximum 4 to 5 KM in urban areas)Large number of joints in either UG Cable (Underground cable) or in between DP to customer premises.Faulty Splitter either at customer premises or at BSNL CO.Faulty ADSL Modem or Power Adapter at customer premises.Steps to fix the frequent disconnection of BSNL Broadband:We should solve our case one by one by taking above reasons, as same reasons may not be applicable to each and every one.If your premise is very far away from the BSNL Exchange or CO than the technological distance limit, then you have to bear it. As there is no any concrete solution for it.High Impedance in Copper Pair coming from BSNL CO to your premises, resulting Low SNR Margin. To check this reason you have to access your Modem through Modem IP: http://192.168.1.1User name :admin (Default)Password : admin (Default)Then go to overview or DSL Status page to check your SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) Margin as well as Attenuation data.

If a computer is connected to a network/internet by both ethernet (LAN) and wifi, will that cause any problems?

There should be no problem. A computer can have any number of network interfaces. Windows will automatically identify which can be used to access internet and how fast and reliable are the connections (speed, latency, packet drops…) and assign a metric to that connection. If some packets can be routed through multiple connections then the connection with lower metric will have higher priority. For information on how the metric is assigned see An explanation of the Automatic Metric feature for IPv4 routesIf you want you can also assign a metric manuallySetting network adapter metric priority in Windows 7How to give preference over one network connection over another? How to Change the Priority of Wired/Wireless Network Cards in WindowsHowever sometimes Windows will disconnect wifi if the computer was connected to ethernet. In this case just connect to the wifi manually once again then later it’ll automatically be connected without user intervention any more.Nevertheless there may be some cases that both connects to different networks that use the same IP range and cause a conflict. In this case you might need to change the address range of one network and it’ll be fineHere’s the result on my computer. As you can see I’m connecting to both ethernet and wifi, both have internet connection, and both belongs to different networksOnce it’s done, speed and reliability are often improved. That said, this isn’t a magic way to increase your internet speed if you really have two separate connections (like from 2 ISPs). The solution is to use Load balancing, but even in that case the speed to a single server might not increase, because connection can only go through one line

What does it means when a Wi-Fi is "saved" but not connecting?

As Tarun Desu said it can be that you reached the maximum allowed concurrent user limit, but some other explanations are possible:signal strenght is not enough for a sustainable connectionSaved password is not matching the actual oneLocal firewall is not allowing adequate use of the wifi interface Dns servers provided are not reachable or not workingDefault gateway is not reachableThere is an ip conflictDhcp server exausted available ip range or gives wrong setup Maybe someone is connecting using a mac address like yoursThere is some allowed time when access is granted...

If I remove the connection of the DHCP client from the DHCP server after being assigned an IP by the server, will the client still have the same IP?

Whenever a client gets a IP address through DHCP it is assigned to it for a particular time period , which is known as the lease time .This lease expires after a time period .But till the lease gets over the client will have the same IP . Unless you restart your router in which case you will get a new IP address with a new lease. In case you restart your computer you will get the same IP with a renewed lease. So yes it will have the same IP until it's lease gets expired , even if it gets disconnected from the DHCP server .
