Laptop Is Lagging Too Bad

Why is my Laptop lagging so much?

I am assuming that you are running an uptodate antivirus.

There are only a few main causes (and many minor causes) for a computer to be slow like this- insufficient RAM, malware, insufficient free space on your hard drive, and too many programs in your startup group.

In Win 7, press Win key-E and look at the thermometer gauge under the C drive. At least 10% and preferably 20% of your HD should be free space. If it is under 10% your computer will slow to a crawl. You may have to move videos, pictures and other large files to another drive to gain space. Uninstall programs you seldom use. In all OS's press Win key-E, right click on the C drive on the left side of this window, and select Properties for more detailed info.

Run CCleaner and Malwarebytes to get rid of malware. Don't use any so called registry editor other than the one in CCleaner. Many are too aggressive and will remove needed registry items. The CCleaner, Tools, Startup will allow you to see what programs are running every time you run your computer. Disable those that do not need to run all the time. Google the names of programs you are unfamiliar with to see their function and if they are safe to disable. Disabling does not uninstall. It simply stops these programs from running every time you boot the computer. You will still be able to run these programs any time you want.

If IE or Firefox is very slow opening pages, go to Help and select "Start without add-ons" and see if this speeds things up. If it does, go to Tools, Manage Add-ons and disable add-ons until things speedup. Uninstall browser toolbars and search engines that you do not use. Simply not using them is not enough.

Why is the CS:GO game lagging on the laptop?

There could be a myriad of reasons why the game could be lagging on your laptop.Possibility one, your laptop is extremely out dated hence a really old graphics card or cpu which will most certainly deter your gaming performance.Possibility two, your laptop has no dedicated graphics or enough RAM but typically that wouldn’t be a problem which leads us to possibility number three, have you made sure to check your in-game settings. Cracking up the game’s maximum settings while relying on on-board graphics or limited RAM is a huge no-no, so you might want to turn the graphics down and see if performance improves. Turning off other background applications would also yield better performance in gameplay.

Why Is my laptop slow even after upgrading to SSD?

Thanks for the A2A.While replacing a hard drive with an SSD can speed up performance, it is not the only thing involved in making your computer run faster. In your case, you are using a processor that is 3–4 years old. There is only so much you can do to speed up that machine. If you are willing to spend a little more money, max out the RAM. 4GB of RAM is just enough to run the operating system. So the reason you are seeing lag times is a combination of the slower processor (which you really can’t do anything about), and the fact that with only 4GB of RAM, the computer is doing a lot of swapping with the virtual disk. But the best recommendation I can make is to not put any more money into this computer and buy something newer if you truly want to see a speed increase.

GTA IV lagging too much!! help?

GTS IV is a bad console port it struggles on most systems without a dedicated graphics card/new overpowered system this game will never run smooth even with tweaks

your ram is a little low for gaming generally andlaptops typically are not a great choice to game with

My laptop has high specs but it still lags in every game. How do I fix this?

Thanks for A2A.The truth is that you can't expect great performance on a budget laptop in comparison with performances of desktops available out there. However, trying these tweaks, you can maximize your gaming performance:Always keep your drivers up-to-date. In this case, go to Nvidia's official page to download the latest driver. Never use third party drivers. In Windows control panal, change power mode from balanced to high performance mode both in battery & plugged in mode. Use this same methodology in Nvidia control panal. While gaming, avoid using minimized or hidden applications running. Use task manager to kill those unwanted apps. Now let me unveil the most effective tick to increase FPS in gaming. Always disable anti-alising (MSAA, TXAA, FXAA, SSAA etc.), vertical synchronization, ambient occlusion (SSAO, HBAO etc.) and lower the anisotropic filtering to 2x or 4x or just disable it. Sometimes, you can lower the resolution to get huge FPS boost. Believe me this trick gonna make your laptop run every game till this date in playable frames. You may use game boosters like Razer Cortex etc. in order to get 2% to 5% increase in performance.

Why is my Windows 10 slow? I have a laptop with 16 GB RAM and core i7 2.4. I did everything written on the internet, but it is still slow and has a lot of bugs.

I have a laptop with nearly identical specs, specifically a Dell 5559. It was excruciatingly slow at times. When I opened Task Manager, the 1 TB hard disk was nearly always thrashing at 100% but the processor and memory were seldom running above 50% capacity - and usually much less. That’s a pretty good clue of where the bottleneck was. I replaced the spinning drive with a good Samsung SSD and now the little machine runs lightning fast.Task Manager is an excellent built-in tool for troubleshooting performance problems. Open it up in detail view and run some programs while watching activities under the Perfomance tab to see which component is the bottleneck. Also open the Process tab and see if there are any programs hogging resources.Since you have an i7 processor and 16 gigs, I would bet that your hard drive is the problem. If not, and you find some resource-hogging program processes under the Process tab, kill them and and see if that helps. Don’t kill any Microsoft processes that you are not sure of; they may be essential to the OS. But, if you do cause a crash, a restart will also start up the essential processes once again, fixing your error.

Sometimes my laptop getting too slow. How can I smothly run my laptop? When I am going to run a game my fan is running speedly.

When you play a video game... or encode a movie, or even just open Google Chrome, the processors in your laptop (the CPU and GPU.... or maybe the APU if you are in an AMD state of mind) work harder to continue to provide you with the best experience they can.  When the processors work harder, they generate more heat.  When the temperature of the laptop rises due to the processors working harder, the fan(s) will spin faster to shed the increased heat.Now... here is what the heat sink in a laptop looks like if you don't clean it for two or three years. When the dust and debris builds up between the heat sink and the fan... and it will... the fan can't push air through the heat sink.  The laptop cannot shed the heat, and the fan runs faster for longer periods of time, because the laptop temperature is very high... which makes the laptop crank up the fan.  So, unless this laptop is brand new, it is likely that PART of the reason your laptop runs slower when you play video games and such, because it cannot shed heat properly. Then again, I know nothing about your laptop.  You could have purchased a Special Buy Sale Laptop for $300, and you could be expecting it to play Assassin's Creed.
