My Laptop Keeps Shutting Down After Being On For About 2-5 Min. HELP?
OK. This can be caused by a few different issues. 1. Overheating. If the System detects that the CPU temp is going beyond its set max temp range then the system will automatically shut down the computer. This is comonly caused by the fan assembly not removing the heat from the heatsink over the CPU. Get yourself a can of compressed air form Dick Smith or Jaycar and, with the computer turned off, blow out the fan ports in the side and back of the laptop. 2. The other common overheating issue is caused by the batter being constantly charged while installed in the laptop. Remove the battery and plug in the AC adapter and use the laptop. If it still shuts down then you have hardware problems. 3. Power supply issues. You could have a faulty power AC adapter. Have it checked by a reputable laptop repair store. 4. Motherboard failure. First do not use any remote access software to let someone check your puter, very bad thing to do. You might have a driver problem. Make sure all your drivers are current. yo have al the Windows updates installed. Make sure that you have the current version of Skpe. Just in case make sure the fans and vents are clean and clear. Get a couple cans of compressed air and blow out the vents and fans. You can find some good video on YouTube on how to keep a laptop clean.

I assume you are using Windows, so next time you start it, run the event viewer and check the system logs and see what is happening before the system crashes. That is about the only way you get an idea what is happening.

This is almost always due to overheating. Are you putting it on something that can clog the air vents? Most laptops draw air through vents on the bottom of the computer, and blow it out the back.If you regularly use your laptop while on your bed or something, use a lap desk to keep it up off the bedsheets and give it room for the air to flow.
