What is the runway code of the Taipei Taoyuan International Airport?

I'm afraid I don't understand your question. As far as I know there is no such thing as the runway code. I can only think two possibilities. If you mean IATA (International Air Transport Association) airport code, for Taoyuan International Airport, it is TPE.If you mean ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) airport code, for Taoyuan International Airport, it is RCTP.Hope it helps.

Is there anything to do near Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport?

The area around Taoyuan Airport is mostly industrial, suburban and partially agricultural. For most of the time since its opening in about 1979, the area was rather lacking in tourism. After all, it was meant to be the new airport for Taipei, where the old airport can longer expand due to encroaching development around it and was selected due to its then rural characteristics. Access at the time of the opening was via the then brand new north-south toll road and prefectural route 4. Later, due to industrial, commercial and residential development sprung up along route 4, as well as Taiwan’s increased investment in domestic infrastructure projects, drivers can use the new highway #2 from the toll road (now highway #1) to access the airport. Recently, an elevated train service linking Taipei, the Airport, and nearby high-speed rail station has commenced.Visitors on perhaps less than 4 hour transit period may consider taking the elevated train from the Airport to the high-speed rail station, where there is a new American style outdoor outlet mall called Gloria Outlets for shopping and some local food. Alternatively, visitors can take a taxi to the nearby Tai-mall on route 4, though due to heavy development, the timing of travel cannot be easily controlled. A third alternative for people with short transit period (though 4–6 hours and not less is recommended) is to take the elevated train toward Taipei and stop at Linkou station and walk to the Mitsui Outlet Mall for local, Japanese and some American/European shopping and eating options.People with longer transit time (12 hours minimum) may consider taking the elevated train service all the way to Taipei. The presidential palace, Chiang-Kai-Shek memorial, and the 228 Park are all near the Taipei terminus of the elevated train service. As you may have noticed by now, that area is also very rich in what Taiwan does best for its visitors, namely providing eating and shopping options. For people who do not want to travel too far from the airport but have more time on their hands and are not interested in eating and shopping, they may consider splurge on taxi and ask the driver to take them to the Martyr’s Shrine in Taoyuan. It was formerly a Japanese Shinto shrine that was converted to remember Taiwanese martyrs. Recent renovations retained its Japanese style and is one of the best-preserved buildings from the Japanese era.

Layover in Taipei, Taiwan, what options do I have?

It depends what you're looking for. If just a place to stay for 12 hours or so, there are hotels adjacent to CKS airport. The airport is located in Taoyuan, so just search for Taoyuan, Taiwan on your favorite travel website to find hotels.

If you have a bit more time, and are interested in a little nighttime sightseeing, a good place to stay would be in downtown Taipei, near the Taipei Railway Station. This is a nice, active nighttime area, with shopping, eating, and hotels (international chains and local walk-in type hotels), all within easy walking distance of CKS Memorial Park.

US citizens do not require a visa for a stay of up to 30 days, Philippine citizens require a visa. I don't know Taiwan's rules regarding transit passengers from the Phillipines, best contact the Taiwan consulate in Manila to be sure.

Taipei Airport layover?

First, in Taiwan, the main international airport is called TaoYuan international airport http://www.taoyuanairport.gov.tw/CKSeng/

You are not going to Taipei airport http://www.tsa.gov.tw/2005tax/english/e-...

So, you are going to TaoYuan international airport. It's not in Taipei just close to Taipei .
Normally the Taipei airport is for domestic not for international.

You'll layover at the TaoYuan international airport.
Then you have to change terminals from no.1 to no.2. Between this two terminals has a train (free) can take http://www.taoyuanairport.gov.tw/CKSchi/...

or take free shuttle bus :
http://www.taoyuanairport.gov.tw/CKSeng/transportation/bus_e.jsp

or by walk.

Usually should have at least 2 hours to do check in before departure.I don't know, one hour maybe is not enough for you to do it,because now it's summer time(peak time) many traveller go abroad, you have to think about it more and find a best way to transfer flight.

I think you have to ask your air flight company or travel agency to help you.

How do you visit Taipei 101 from Taoyuan Airport?

From the airport you can take a bus which will take you to the main bus terminal in Taipei. The ride should be 45 minutes to 60 minutes usually. Longer if there are traffic. Fare is around 150nt or so. From the main bus terminal you can walk to different level and you get on the MRT which is the Taipei subway system.Taipei metro map, TaiwanHmm scratch that it seems like the Taoyuan MRT station is in operation since March 2017 so you should be able to from the airport hop on that and ride directly to the Taipei MRT main station and transfer to the blue line and get off at Taipei 101. Should be pretty easy and straightforward now!! Fare should be about $200nt or so one way. Have fun!Be aware that Taipei main station is huge and packed with tons of people most of the times but especially during commute. You might wanna try to look on youtube for videos to see how it looks.

Have you ever hitchhiked into downtown Taipei from Taoyuan Airport?

It's true that hitchhiking is not a common thing in Taiwan. However, if you are a foreigner looking lost, and you happen to run into a nice Taiwanese driving into Taipei (I’d suggest asking for directions at the entrance of the parking lot), I would say you have 50% of chance getting a ride. Hospitality is very big in Taiwan. Good luck!

What are the fun things to do during a layover at the Taipei Taoyuan International Airport?

The only thing that immediately comes to mind, if you’re there during the hours it’s open and have enough time, is the aviation museum right on the grounds of the airport.I had overnight layovers twice several years ago, and one morning went there with a friend who was teaching at an English-language kindergarten nearby. The exhibits weren’t half bad, and the price of admission was really low.
