she just did a nude pic of herself with a snake slithering on her in vanity fair magazine, without showing boobs or butt of course. before that though was the nudies leak where she had nobody to blame but herself for being such a fool. then add to that that she's probably smoked weed and gets drunk and for a little while dated a guy who was technically married. it's clear she's not "just like you" as all those press and pr people would love have you believe. and the fact that she is a fan of that horrible tv show with the kardashian crap is enough to tell me all i need to know and I'm a dude so no jealousy here. I just don't get it sometimes. and not trying to troll either just really wondering on this

I disagree with Jimmy Wales. It will have material impact on her career - and a very positive one.Regardless of Lawrence' celebrity status, not everyone knew her. For example, I've never heard her name. After the leak, she became much more known and popular.Given that her career is directly tied to popularity, she will benefit from it.Nassim Nicholas Taleb (author) explained it well in his book "Antifragile". Some careers are fragile and can be destroyed by PR events, such as politicians or executives. Some careers are antifragile and will benefit from PR events, such as singers, actors, artists.So, how should she react to it? Well, the best would be to be open-minded and honest. She should prosecute those who violated her privacy, but she shouldn't try to delete pictures everywhere - in accordance with Streisand effect they would proliferate even more. She should own to them, acknowledge her sexuality and go on with her life. Hopefully she won't get stressed or depressed for too long, and realize that the leak is not the end.

Like you may be feeling - having seen X-men & a couple of the Hunger Games movies I had no idea why Jennifer Lawrence was so highly rated, and presumed it was because of her appeal based on interviews and her PR.Then I watched Silver Linings Playbook. Now Rom-Com's aren't usually my thing (mostly the comedy aspect, and true enough in this I found Bradley Cooper an annoying character to follow through the movie), but I had heard this was a great performance by Jlaw and wanted to see what the fuss was about. Oh and I wanted something romantic, too.I loved her character in this, and I felt her performance carried the whole movie for me. I would *NOT* have enjoyed this movie if not for her character, but with it I absolutely loved it and was telling all my bro-friends about it just because I had to get it out.Granted, there is still a bandwagon following how she markets herself outside the red carpet. This is bound to happen, and it may be fair to say some people are hyping her acting because they feel they identify with her more than other actresses. Personally I see her as a positive contribution and will be looking out her in future roles, and don't feel she is significantly overrated.
