Besides to be a cultural thing, it's something each of us has to decide. I'm the mother of 2 sons, and i havent idea when my sons started having sex. But i think it has been when they were 15 or 16. We talked with them about sex, explained to them about sexual sickness, and to be sincere, for me, to have sex or not, is not related to religion. It has to be related to each person decision. They are 31 and 32 now, and both are single. Both have gf's and 1 of them is living with her. They rented a flat, and are living together. It's ok for me. Its their life, not mine, then they have not to ask me permission for anything. When i was young, those things were almost taboo. Things happened the same, but pple were much more hypocrites We didnt talk about many things. But I raised my sons in a different way. There werent taboos at my home, and they could ask about any subject they wanted to know. They always got a reply. About your aunt....... May be because your grandfather was so conservative, is just that your aunt is "very liberal" as you say. He's HER son, not your grandfather's.,,and to the only that has to sound normal or not, is to her. Even, remember that the difference in cultures is so big. We arent talking about a religious point of view, but about a big difference in uses among Lebanon or some other arab country, and Canada. BTW...why did you call your aunt to tell her what your cousin had told you in confidence? You know? I should have replied to you, the same that she did. i'm Lebanese :) there are a few that can be snobs but if you get to know them they're really nicee. but in truth, most of them are sweethearts. i agree with you, the girls are really pretty. and the guys are delicious ;) and some of themm can be really easy and some have like a fence around themm. just act like yourself, and if she doesnt do anything, you make a move on her. she'll love it, you're a foreigner. they love foreign guys. also, the other people that answered obviously have not been to lebanon. the ones that have to marry muslims are the ones with their whole bodies covered, and Lebanon is more developed than most states in America and other countries. they have luxury brands just like we have in America. the people that answered are people that obviously are intolerant and typical people that think they know everything when in fact, they know nothing except for the fact that they think they are better than everyone else.
