Left Shoulder Hurting Really Bad

Why does my left shoulder hurt sO BAD ?

This could be any number of things, from a muscle type pain, nerve pain or blood vessel pain. If you did not do anything to cause it, it might be a good idea to get it checked out.
If you were witting at your computer, chances are you were looking down at your screen, with your shoulders rounded to ward the front. This can cause some muscle pain or other types of problems.
Try to feel around your neck or shoulders for any tight muscles or muscle spasm.
If you feel tight muscles or muscle spasms, take an ice pack wrapped in a towel and put it on your shoulder area for 15-20 minutes for every waking hour. you may also want to take Aleve or Ibuprofen, both over-the-counter pain medications to help with pain control. Take with food.

if you are still having this pain after a couple of days, tell your parents to take you to your family doctor for further check up.

My left shoulder hurts really bad when I move it in certain ways...?

I have no idea why though. It just started happening out of the blue a couple of days ago, and I don't remember falling on it or hurting it in anyway. It's not excruciating, and it's not constant it's only when I move it in certain ways. I can't shut a door with my left arm or stretch it out or even just random motions just send a shooting pain through my arm. It's really annoying and it hurts really bad. I mean, I can definitely deal with the pain it's not THAT bad but it does really hurt and it prevents me from doing certain things. What could be wrong and how can I fix the problem?

Thanks,
Trisha :)

My right side and shoulder hurt really bad!!!! Help?!?

Yup, I would go tell your parents/family what's going on so you can go to your doctor so they can examine your shoulder. It might be dislocated or you might have pulled something in there.

Ice the shoulder (heat increases inflammation so I wouldn't go that route).

There is always a SLIGHT chance it's your gallbladder even though you are so young if this started after eating a fatty meal (I used to get shoulder, upper back pain, and pain right under my right ribs with my gallbladder attacks which started when I was about 21, I'm 23 now and just had my gallbladder out)

Feel better!!

Shoulder problems, including pain, are one of the more common reasons for physician visits for musculoskeletal symptoms. The shoulder is the most movable joint in the body. However, it is an unstable joint because of the range of motion allowed. It is easily subject to injury because the ball of the upper arm is larger than the shoulder socket that holds it. To remain stable, the shoulder must be anchored by its muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Some shoulder problems arise from the disruption of these soft tissues as a result of injury or from overuse or underuse of the shoulder. Other problems arise from a degenerative process in which tissues break down and no longer function well.

Shoulder pain may be localized or may be referred to areas around the shoulder or down the arm. Disease within the body (such as gallbladder, liver, or heart disease, or disease of the cervical spine of the neck) also may generate pain that travels along nerves to the shoulder. [1] Conversely, pain felt in the region of the shoulder blade or scapula nearly always has its origin in the neck. [2]

I slipped in the shower and my shoulder hurts really bad when I lift or move it. Is it broken?

I fell by running in the shower, I have a big shower and I ran and slipped and fell on my left hip, and left shoulder. I also fell on my right hand and if hurts as I text. Is if broken or fractured? My shoulder hurts when I pick up a glass cup and drink, text, lift or move it . I keep on moving it on purpose in a motion and the pain goes away but am I making it worse by doing so and if I rub on it will it make it worse? What should I do for now until I see a doctor?

Why does my shoulder hurt so bad?

Pinched back muscles often send the pains to the shoulder area so freeing up your back muscles should get rid of your pain for you and here's how to free them up:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Why does my left shoulder hurt when i yawn?

You may have TMJ which hurts. It sounds like a tendon, whatever it is. When you yawn, your jaw opens real wide and maybe it's time for a medical checkup before it progresses, okay?

Left shoulder blade pain?

My left shoulder blade hurts really bad. I think the reason to this is i lay down on my bed and i watch T.V or go on the laptop and for a while my left shoulder blade (where the shoulder blade and spinal cord are in between) hurts a lot... When i feel it there i feel the rib bones and some muscle? It's really weird when i feel my brothers i can't even feel his ribs! I saw online that some pain is caused my keeping your head forward all the time but even if i put my head back it won't stop... When i move it doesn't hurt any more.. There is a constant sore spot that won't go away unless i go to school or not lay on my bed.. Which sucks because any time i lay down on something after 20 min it starts hurting.. I know this because when there are school days and i have a crap load of homework i can't lay down because i have so much homework so i sit on my table and do it and it doesn't hurt... Oh yea and i'm 14 and a guy... tnx

How badly does getting a top of the shoulder tattoo hurt?

I'll let you know in a few weeks, as I have plans for a shoulder tattoo.  However, since I have three biceps/upper arm tattoos, I can tell you that there is a high level of pain whenever someone repeatedly sticks your skin with multiple needles!  Most people tolerate the tattoo pain with a moderate- to high level of discomfort for two to six hours (or more!).  Some people have to take breaks every few minutes just to try to make it through the tattoo experience while others find the pain tolerable.  Different areas of the body hurt much more than others when getting a tattoo. The upper arm (and likely the shoulder?) is probably the least painful area for a tattoo - but it's gonna hurt!Remember, the smaller the tattoo, the sooner the pain ends, but even a little 3"x3" tattoo can take an hour to finish, depending on the detail.  My upper back tattoo (on my shoulder blade) took almost 5 hours to finish (5 hours of constant, stabbing pin pricks in my back!) and it's only about 4 inches wide by 7 inches high with detail.  Your tattoo artists' experience will also dictate the length of time to finish a tattoo - you don't want to rush somebody that is putting a permanent piece of art on your body.  Do your research, go visit several tattoo parlors in your area and talk with the tattoo artist to get an idea as to how they work. Also, you can watch as someone else gets their tattoo.  Just look at their faces.  You'll see the pain level in their face - if you don't hear "pain" noises coming from them.  The shoulder tattoo I get will be my fifth, but the pain doesn't lessen the more tattoos you get.  I'm looking at getting a 3D tattoo so I need to find an experienced artist. I've been researching for about a month now.  In a few more weeks (months?), I'll find the right guy - or girl to do my tattoo.    You can google 3D tattoos and get an idea about what they look like. What tattoo are you considering? And before anyone responds with, "tattoos are no longer permanent", I know that, but that is for a different discussion.

Why does my right shoulder hurt after my left shoulder surgery?

Postoperatively, you're favoring the operated shoulder. Pain in the unoperated shoulder suggests:1. You're way overusing the unoperated shoulder. Or2. Your unoperated  shoulder is also pretty bad and "normal use" is bothering it.
