Letter Request For Putting A Roof On The Deck

How can we repair cracks in concrete roofs?

The important thing to know about cracks present on concrete slab is their nature. As we all know that on variation of temperature, RCC slab get expand and contract which is called thermal expansion and contraction. On rise of temperature it expands and on fall it contracts. These variations will reflect on the cracks too and there will be a movement on cracks. So, anything which is to be applied on the cracks must be flexible enough to accommodate the movements. Two types of treatment can be usedPU(Polyurethane) sealant treatment- In this treatment, after cleaning of surface, slight V-groove cut has to be made on cracks. Again cleaning and application of PU sealant is to be done.just put some sealant on your finger and fill it on V-groove cut carefully.Flexible acrylic tape-This treatment is little tricky but you can do it with some effortsReason behind application of masking tape-we want to prevent acrylic tape to be completely stick to the crack. This technique makes acrylic tape independent from the movement of the crack.any adverse effect of movement of crack will not reflect on acrylic tape.

What do you do If there's a Dead Bird in Your Rain Gutter...?

Best thing to do is get some latex gloves on get a ladder out and go get it. Put it in a plastic bag and either bury it or throw away after wrap well in plastic and bag. Then I would wipe down spot on gutter with antibacterial wipes and rinse so the flys will leave. Then get rid of gloves and wash hands well. ;)

What are the things I need to consider before selecting a roofing contractor to replace my roof?

The biggest obstacle homeowners face when looking to fix or replace their roof is choosing the right person to do the job. After a damaging storm, they need to quickly get back to normal and perform the necessary roofing repairs. But that doesn’t mean they should just choose the first contractor who knocks on their door. Finding a roofing contractor who is trustworthy, honest, and professional may sound difficult – but that’s where you come in.Get local referrals. There is less chance of potential issues or scams when you choose a contractor from your community. They are more familiar with local rules and code regulations and have a relationship with area crews and suppliers.Look for manufacturer designations. Manufacturer designations are considered a badge of honor because the contractor must pass certain minimum requirements to be factory-certified (although, some manufacturers have more stringent requirements than others).Research Better Business Bureau (BBB) ratings. Some contractors blow in (no pun intended) right after a storm looking for work, so it’s important to look them up on the BBB website and make sure they have a good score. Stay away from contractors who do not exist on BBB.Get an extensive warranty. Not all contractors can offer manufacturer warranties that include coverage of the contractor’s workmanship. If a contractor installs the roof incorrectly, it may take months or years for the damage to show up—and insurance won’t pay for it. If the contractor won’t fix it (or worse, has gone out of business), your only recourse is to pay for their mistake yourself.Be concerned about safety. A contractor without a training or safety program may not be the best person for your job. GAF sponsors a unique national training organization called the Center for the Advancement of Roofing Excellence (CARE), which has trained more than 200,000 professionals. GAF is the only roofing manufacturer with a dedicated team of trainers in the industry.

Satellite dish installed on screened deck. Will it work?

We would like to get DirecTV, but we are currently living in a second-floor apartment. The deck has a clear southern exposure, but the dish would have to go on the deck, which is screened. Would this work?

Also, I understand that it is necessary to embed the pole on which the dish is mounted in a bucket of concrete. Who would I contact to do this?

Heres a riddel do u like?

Early in the morning middle of the night. 2 dead boys went out 2 fight. back 2 back they faced each other. drew their swords and shot each other. a deaf policeman heard the noise, and then he shot the 2 dead boys. if you don't believe this lie is true. Ask the blind man he saw it 2!!!

Original owners of house never had inspections to complete building permit, now we are in violation ...?

You are responsible, as the present owner, for ensuring you comply with building codes. However, there are two things to keep in mind.

First, you are only responsible for making sure the previous work meets the building codes that were in place at the time the permits were taken out (that is, in 1985). Don't get suckered into bringing your whole house up to date.

Second, you probably have recourse against the sellers, if you can find them. If we are talking about a few hundred dollars, it probably isn't worth pursuing. But if we are talking about several thousand dollars, you may want to see if you can track down the former owners and sue them.

EDIT: On second thought, if we are talking about considerable money, I'd sue everybody in one big law suit. I'd sue all of the previous owners, back to the original one who did the work. I'd also sue the permitting authority for allowing the non-compliance to go unabated for 25 years. Your hope is to either get the money to bring the house into compliance from the original owner, or to get a court order compelling the issuance of an occupancy permit from the county/state.
