Liberals And Conservatives

Who's right, liberals or conservatives?

Neither, the closest I can muster is libertarian (socialy liberal, fiscaly conservative).

Vote independant, the two party system has failed, stop the corruption.

and to those who say liberals are more like comunists... both liberals and conservatives are closer to comunisim than libertarian. Lest we forget the deffinition of a comunist... a social conservative, fiscal liberal.

It seems to me most americans now-a-days meet this definition (comunism), and are afraid of freedom.

Who are better, liberals or conservatives?

I'm a fairly conservative person (more libertarian, though), but I in no way have ever felt “superior” to liberals—whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.In short: liberals and conservatives need each other. They're there to communicate effectively as a means to better society. That's why democracy exists.Liberals are high in openness but low in conscientiousness. They tend to be less orderly but are extremely creative. Liberals are good artists, entrepreneurs, and academics; but they're not very good at running things.Conservatives, however, are high in conscientiousness and low in openness. Not saying they're stupid, but their style of thinking isn't as free formed as liberals', so it's more constrained. But since conservatives are high in orderliness they're very good at running things that already work (i.e. business administrators).Sometimes the liberals are right; sometimes the conservatives are right. Because the environment is always changing in unpredictable ways you absolutely need dialogue between the two sources constantly. This is also why we need free speech.Any smart and ethically fit liberal or conservative should agree to that.

Who are conservatives and liberals?

Conservatives and liberals are two groups of people in the USA, and most places, and are mainly political parties. They have different outlooks and ideologies and lead the country in different ways when they lead.Liberals are mostly Democrats who believe that people with different ideologies and thinkings should be respected. They believe that the government should invest in the workers and employees to make their lives better and that Democracy to the fullest should be available for all. For example, they feel everyone should get access to healthcare, higher education, housing, public transit, etc. They believe that the government should control the main human needs. They particularly believe that the people and planet should be valued over profit. The conservatives are mostly Republicans who believe that the government involvement should be kept at a minimum. They believe that the government involvement would scrutinize job growth in the private sector, and that the growth of private sector industrial economy will lead to prosperity. Thus, they want to protect the American jobs and encourage the buying and selling of American goods. There are things in both the parties that I agree with. And that's how most people are. Both the parties eventually want the same thing. No party would want people to live in poverty. But this is my thinking.Note that not many people are purely conservative or purely liberal. Most are in the middle of the spectrum.

Can liberals and conservatives compromise with each other?

Liberals should compromise on their anti-markets, anti-business, anti-rich people beliefs, and then conservatives should compromise on their anti-gay, anti-choice beliefs.

Liberals stay out of conservatives wallets. Conservatives stay out of liberal bedrooms.

It's called compromise and it will make everyone more happy.

Fellow liberals, the conservatives are in bed because they have jobs to go to on Monday morning. Let’s talk bad about them. Ok?

Yep, they need to get to McDonald's by 6am so my coffee is ready by 7.

Liberal conservative views and conservative liberal views?

Abortion is a bad example. Roe v. Wade was monumental because it struck down control of abortion law at the state level and made it a federal issue, thus increasing the power of the federal government. Most conservatives would be happy with the power to decide abortion law returning to the states (ie less FEDERAL government).

I think gay marriage is a better example. Republican idiocy reached new heights when they started talking about making an AMENDMENT to the Constitution banning gay marriage...wth? True Republicans would leave that issue alone and let the individual states decide. Democrats, opposing any restrictions on gay marriage are actually siding with the less federal government.

What is the difference between a liberal and a conservative in the USA?

It’s pretty simple.By and large conservatives believe in limited government, that the Constitution means what it says, and personal responsibility. We think it’s better that problems are best dealt with at a local and state level and the less federal government the better.Or to put it more simply conservatives look at a problem and think “what can I do to help”.Liberals believe the government best handles problems, and they like one size fits all government solutions (0bamaCare being a prime example). They believe in “interpreting” the Constitution, that is for the courts to change its meaning to fit modern circumstances. (Rather than going through the intentionally difficult amendment process). They look at problems and thing “what can the government do about this”.That’s admittedly simplified, but I believe it to be pretty accurate. Obviously these are generalizations, liberals and conservatives are individuals and the one thing we all have in common is we are all different!
