Confused?India is a Multi-lingual country and still your mind can only search for English Indian authors.Then what?You'd reply Vikram Seth, Rabindranath Tagore, Jhumpa Lahiri, Ruskin Bond, Amrita Pritam, Arundhati Roy, Amitav Ghosh, RK Narayan, Mulk Raj Anand, Ashwin Sanghi, Amish Tripathi, Rashmi Bansal, Khushwant Singh, Sudha Murthy and others.Would you reply Chetan Bhagat, Durjoy Dutta or someone else whose famous to write masala Indian easy English novels which act like eye - candy to Indian youth?But India consists of only 12.1% English speaking people.Which means out of 100 people 12 can read and write English. But this one group includes people who studied or are studying in Regional Language Boards too like Gujarati Medium, Marathi Medium, Tamil Medium etc.People who have English as first language is 0.019% of total population. Which makes hard to round off as 1% too.So masses love Chetan Bhagat and Chetan Bhagat loves Massy topics.You'd read his book secretly but think about the above conversation that took place. Would a literature lover find solace in his books?Agreed, you get leisure by reading 2 States maybe.
