There isn't any degree in Linux but there is a certification provided by red hat (most used Linux distro in real time) . RHCE and RHCSA are the two certifications provided. You have to write the paper for it. And these certifications can help you get a job as a system admin. Well, certification is only a way to get in some high companies as they put it as a pre requisite (not all companies) but at the end of the day they test your skills. So, all the best.

It specifies who is apt for it. For fun, you can do it right away.I too did RHCE, by the time I was out of B.Tech. Coming to money, if you can get couple promotions with that or get placed as a SysAdmin at a reputed company, the one you mentioned above is just like an icing on the cake.
