List Of Uk Cruise Lines

Which is the best cruise line?

There is really no "best cruise line". While some lines are better than others in certain areas, each cruise line appeals to different people. The only way to find the best cruise line is to actually sail on most lines, then see which one you liked best. In the end, it all really depends on personal preferences. If you really want to see and experience first-hand the different variances in cruise lines, and find what appeals to you, you'll want to sail at least one line from each of the following groups:1. These are the lines that have a "party all cruise" feel to them, and are great for the younger crowd-Royal Caribbean NorwegianDisneyCarnival2. This list has a more classic and elegant feel to them, attracting an older crowd (although Princess and Celebrity are somewhat of a mix between this list and list one.)-Holland AmericaPrincessCelebrityCunard3. And these lines are luxury lines, on the fancier, more elegant, and yes, pricier side of things-SeabournAzamaraCrystalRegent Seven SeasIn conclusion, if you cruise a line in each of these lists, you'll most likely figure out which line is right for you, and after you found your catagory, narrow it down to the one cruise line that appeals most to you.If you liked this answer, please give a follow for more! Where can I find job listings for cruise lines that aren't scams?

Don't pay for information you can get for free. Go to www.cruiselinesjobs.com, there's quite a lot about cruise line employment there for free. Also, they have a long list of recruitment agents in their directory.

The best places for applying for a job on a cruise ship are probably websites of individual cruise lines - Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, Disney Cruises, etc.

I find specialized job sites useful as well, mainly www.allcruisejobs.com and www.catererglobal.com.

Who owns the Viking cruise line?

The company is owned by private investors, with its worldwide headquarters in Los Angeles, California and its operational offices in Switzerland. It currently operates river cruises in Europe, Russia, Egypt, Southeast Asia and China, and has recently expanded into ocean cruising as well. They are believed by many experts (as well as a few grownup deckhands like me) to be the class of the field in river cruising and have been a welcome participant in the ocean cruise business. All of the information about the company is available on their website. A browser is a wonderful invention!

What is the best cruise for Europe?

There are so many that the first step would be to decide what area of Europe you would like to see. I can only tell you about the ones that I have been on although I have several others on my bucket list. We did the U shape cruise from Rome around the boot of Italy to Venice. Stops included Rome, Sicily, Dubrovnik, Corfu and Venice. Each stop was a different cultural experience. Another cruise we took was the Baltic Seas Cruise with stops in Copenhagen Denmark, Stockholm Sweden, Helsinki Finland, St. Petersburg Russia, and Tallinn Estonia. Again great variety of cultures to experience. This was one of my favorites because I had never thought I would visit some of these countries in my lifetime. I made a video showing what you see on the Baltic Seas Cruise. Seeing the pictures & video of these travel destinations might help you decide whether this is a cruise you would like to take.http://www.scattertravel.tv/2012... We also did some canal cruises. You can see those at the same website. On my list of Europe Cruises is the Greek Isle Cruise, A cruise going through Holland to Italy. I am taking a group to Turkey on an escorted land cruise in September if you would like to look into that. I hope you find a cruise that you enjoy. It is a great way to get to see many cultures in one trip.

How can i get a cruise ship job?

I want to work a cruise ship and i was wondering if anyone can offer me advice, or share their cruise working story. I am hoping to work in the Mediterranean or any cruise that takes place in/near Europe. There are so many scams out there I am unsure of what websites to follow and what ones to avoid. At the end of the day, i just really have no idea where to start-there are hundreds of cruise lines offering thousands of jobs-but there are also thousands of applicants.

Help is appreciated, thanks!

Carnival cruise waiting list? This weekend, is it too late? How much per person?

As a travel agent.. the $250 is per person. If you were told there are only three people ahead of you, then you need to get on that list. Usualy waiting lists have around 100-150 people on it.

People do cancel out the the week of their cruise, or even the day of their cruise, due to accidents, illensses, etc.

As for pricing, when you put down the deposit to be added to the waiting list, you are securing the rate as it is at the time that you put down the deposit.

To help you get the best chance, do not just waitlist for one specific cabin type on a specific deck. There is no extra charge to waitlist for additional categories or cabin types.

NOTE:
Many of the above answers are incorrect. Cruiselines DO require a deposit to be placed on waiting lists.

And cruiselines submit their final manifest to homeland security 1 hour prior to departure. You can actualy book a cruise by just walking into the terminal. However, I do not recommend it - most ships sail sold out.

Chef life on-board a cruise ship?

I read your "essay," so I guess some folks don't understand an adult attention span.

My understanding is probably based on the same information you found online. (I did some light research for fiction.) It's that the hours are long and split shifts are common. Entering the industry may not take advantage of your actual skill levels or experience, so you could be working in the ho-hum free onboard dining rooms where the cuisine is way, way less than four stars. Crew quarters are cramped, have no exterior view, and it's my impression that crew are strongly urged to stay out of sight when they're not working unless their day off is in port, at which time passengers may see crew disembark and reboard. (Shocking!)

I never found out how it paid for the position I needed to know (onboard maintenance), or for anything else. The cruise lines keep that information private. I do remember reading more than one place about a crew member of many years never being able to save up enough to return to his or her home to raise their child. They earned just enough to send to the relatives raising the kid to keep them doing it. Of course, a chef is likely to earn more than a room steward or housekeeper, so maybe that's not you.

In your position, I'd consider applying to the big-name cruise lines and seeing whether they offer you anything. At that time, you'll at least get a feel for the pay scale and the contract requirements. If the contract's not long, you could put your stuff in storage and give it a try, and if you don't like it, cross it off your list.
