Living In Dubai With 3500 Aed And 1500 Aed Rent

Is 2500 Aed sufficient to live in dubai with family?

2500 AED is sufficient only for Bachelor's. I Will Say No to it. Consider below answer people are suggesting to share Bed space. Come guys question is for family. How you suppose to share a family space with stranger. This is ridiculous. As a Bachelor yes 2500AED is more than enough to live a simple life. To make it simple here the basic expense for your better idea.AS A BACHELOR:(PER MONTH)DEWA (electricity and water) with WIFI - 650 AED( There are more Bed space available for Bachelor )Travel Expense : 200 AED ( Between two Zone Twice a day. May increase if you travel all the region)Food: 1000 AED ( All three time in hotel) Lets take 150 for other expense still you can save 500 AED per month.AS A FAMILY: (PER MONTH)Rent :- 35000 AED per year(Studio  is available)  ie: 3000 per month.DEWA (electricity and water) - 500 ( Average use )WiFi - 250Travel expense : 400 AED ( Since it 200 For you + 200 for your partner and child)Grocery - 1000 AEDThis it self will cost you around 5150 AED. If your child is in the age of attending school. Then you have to spend couple of thousand to that. I will suggest at least you should have 8000AED to run a normal family life in Dubai.

What is the cost of living in Dubai?

Unlike most, I wont brag about Dubai’s luxury instead I will get straight to the point by explaining the cost. Your question is very general, but I will try my best to answer it. Now, cost of living in Dubai varies, but for the ease of understanding I will break down the cost into three different classes with earnings.Low class: A person who earns between Dhs 2000–6000 a month, either shares a room for Dhs1000 or pays Dhs 3500 for a studio in rare cases. Drives a Toyota or Honda and is not able to save anything out of salary as whole of it goes in covering necessary expenses like rent, transportation, food, internet and phone bills etc. In this category you’ll find most expats to be Filipinos, Pakistanis, Indians, Bengladeshi, Sri Lankans, Egyptians and many others.Middle class: earns between Dhs 7000–30,000 a month. Lives in his/her own condo, is able to save money after deducting all necessary expenses. Drives a four wheel, Lexus or even a German in some cases. Also, the cheapest studio in Dubai rents for about 3500–5000 /m.If a person can afford that and is still able to save then he or she’s in middle class. This categories is predominantly filled with Indians, Western Arabs, Europeans, Americans, Emiratis and in some rare cases Pakistanis too. Also, people in this category get benefits.Upper class: earns between 35,000–3,00,000. Either lives in a condo in Marina or in villa in Jumeirah. Drives Germen, is able to pay rent between 15,000 to 30,000 monthly. Lives the same life as describe as how Dubai is described on TV. You’ll only find, Indians, Emiratis, Western Arabs and Westerners in this category. These three categories will give you a general idea of earnings and the type of lifestyle a you can afford with it. Now, most sources won't tell you this, but if you ask from anyone who is able to give a realistic answer will agree with my explanation. Not many people will tell you this story instead they will talk mostly about the glit and glamor.Edit (09/02/2018): Thank you for all the upvotes and comments. I haven’t been to the UAE in two years so I’m assuming the cost of living has probably increased especially with the arrival of VAT this year.

Can one survive in Dubai with the starting salary of AED 2000 with accommodation, if all meals and official transportation is free?

In short and Simple Nope if your living alone. Even with free Mess meals and office transport. Like every human being on earth there will be side expenses. Like a decent Internet access, the occasional restaurant/ outside food. Let's be honest the added pressure of working in Gulf will leave you wanting to blow off steam by visiting amazing places UAE has to offer. A decent Hardee's Meal would cost ya about 30-47 AEDA meal at TGIF or Red Lobster or any good restaurant would cost ya about 100 AED light meal 145-250 heavy meal per person with drinks A taxi ride from Dubai to Sharjha would cost you .... I wanna say 60- 70 at night no traffic.(not really sure)Chips and cold drink would be covered in 3-5 aed depending on your choice Most of the touristy places have an entry fee of range of 5-20 AED(Unless you plan to go for Dolphin Show or Desert Safari)Even hobbies like fishing will burn at least 120-150 aed Also You have alot of sales going on and festivals and concerts. So You might be able survive but dont expect to save.Unless you are void of all human emotion and fun, have also sold/ lost your soul You might just make it with 2000 AEDI spend like an hour at the shooting range and it cost me about 1,200 AED so stuff can get pretty expensive but there were weeks where I barely spent over 50 AED going to the beach sitting some cola and my music and a good bookp.s pardon my newbieness with big uncropped photos.

How much is the cost of living allowance in Dubai, UAE?

Over the past year the rent in Dubai has gone up an average of 33%, so be prepared for that.
Here is what I would say the average per month for a single 25-35yrs, with a normal social life etc not starving but not living extravagently...
(All in dirhams. FYI 3.68dhs = $1 usd)

-Rent 3500 (for a bedroom in a villa.)
-House extras (like internet, elec, maid/cleaner etc) 300-500(if not included in rent)
- Car payments or rental 1300
- Petrol 200
- Food 400

That gives you a rough idea.
Then some other costs to give you an idea.
- beer at pub 17-30
- glass house wine 15-25
- Big Mac meal 14
- bottle wine at restraunt 100-150
- Starbucks coffee 13
- Rayban avation sunglasses 500
- average meal for two at average restraunt 200
- All you can eat lunch buffet at Pizza Express 25
- Ipod (the biggest storage one) 1200
- DVD from Virgin 40-80
- DVD from Chineese dude knocking on your door 10-13
- Movies 30

I hope this helps in giving you some idea as to how much it will cost you....
Good luck in Dubai!

Ronnie...I have just tried to reply to your email but can't for some reason. To answer your email...

You can have a look on www.expatriates.com and there will be rooms avaliable there for rent.
Also www.dubizzle.com
It takes a little bit for visas to go through, for they get so many, so I would not worry too much.
Where are you from?
I do not know any other Auto Cad operators, so I could not tell you if that was a good deal or not.

Hope I have helped you a little. Anything else that you want to know, then feel free to ask.

Is 7000 AED salary enough to live in Dubai for a bachelor?

I do not know how much of my opinion is gonna be helpful for you, but this helped me when I stayed here in DXB as a Bachelor.Keep in mind, accomodation is where most your of money is being spend. The rent depends mostly on the location you choose to stay.As mentioned that you’re planning to live in DXB as a Bachelor. So choose well in where you plan to stay. There’re a lot of Bachelor sharing accomodations, mostly in Karama, Bur Dubai, Naif. You can get sharing rooms for decent rent. The second expense comes on food. Most Bachelors prefer in not cooking & would rather go to resturants which burns your wallet. There’re three option for this:Cook by yourself: once you find a place to crash, you & your roomates can share the expenses for food & cook. This is fun too. Have a couple of zips of your favourite drink & enjoy the moment.Hire a Cook: if none of you cook at all, you can hire a Cook for it. All you need to do is purchase the grocery & Cook does the rest for you. One might think this’d be expensive, but it is not. Trust me.Tiffin Service: is also available. In short they’re the “Dabbawalas” of Dubai. They’re hard to find though.Out of the above three, cooking by yourself allows you to spend less on food. Now, weekends’re the time you start getting bored sitting at home. You & your friends would decide to roam around. Always depend on RTA transport like the Metro & Buses rather than Taxi.NB: In the first two months after you arrive here, try understanding how you’re managing your money. Once you get the flow & have some saved aside, send it back to your hometown. Let that be a saving.
