I have an acer aspire one, windows 7 starter edition. I recently went to get on it and forgot my password. I have no reset disk and all of them cost money. Theres only one account on it and its mine which is the admin account. Please help me ! I have tried to download software on a different computer and make a reset disk, but when i put it in the locked computer it says either error or can not complete without full version.

My answer won't solve your problem but will serve as a precautionary action to prevent being locked out of your PC if you ever forget your password in future.Create a Password reset drive. You can do that in account settings in control panel. This requires a flash drive or SD card to store your password on ( in encrypted format). Upon next time, you only need to insert it and change.Write your password in an hidden paper in a random location you know.Use password hints. Hints can be made to not appear as clues to strangers but makes you recall your actual password.

You can try this two ways you can try starting the computer in Safe Mode. Supposedly this will enable the built-in Administrator account for the one session. The default password may be a blank. Get into Safe Mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key as the computer is starting up. If this works for you, then you can set a new password for your normal account.
