Looking For A Job That Requires Me To Be Away From Home; Spending Alot Of Time Gone But Coming Home

What military branch spends the least time away from home?

planning on enlisting soon. just curious as to which branch out of the navy army and marines spends the least time away, and how long and how often are you home if u get deployed?

What are some jobs that keep you away from home a lot?

I'm working on a story, and one of the characters is kept away from home a lot because of work. It's more like he's kept overtime, rather than being away for several weeks on a business trip or something. Something such as a cop/detective.

Help?

Do men and women in the Navy spend a lot of time away from home? What about other branches?

It is more than 6 months out of every 18 months. While that is the longest deployment there is also exercises, trials and workups that take place on a ship or submarine. These can be where he is out for a few days and back on the weekends; he is out for 2 weeks; he is out for a month; he is out for a few months; or he is gone longer than 6 months. He can be gone up to 75% of the year sometimes, 50% other times.

If he gets into construction as a SeaBee then their deployment schedule is different it will depend on where they are going and what they are doing. They can answer to disasters around the world as well as doing community work and rebuilding of certain areas. They can go to places like India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Djibouti, Philippines, etc...

For things like HM - Corpsman then it will depend on where he is assigned. If he is with a Marine Unit then he will deploy when they go so his schedule will be harsh at times.

Then there is other jobs when they are with a Squadron or Command that only goes out for a few months here and there. Or even be on Shore Duty during his first enlistment.

This doesn't include the times when they are at home when he does have to work on board the ship nights & weekends & holidays. then there is the duty days where he is there for 36 hours.

Life in the military is hard on a family. He has to be prepared to miss things like first steps, first words, first day at school, first day of sports, etc... along with the anniversaries and birthdays. He has to be able to come home to a house that isn't always the same way it was when he left. You have to be prepared to be both parents, spend nights alone. You have to be independent and be able to handle things on your own.

How long can pomeranian puppies and adults stay home alone?

I just had to turn a job down that would keep me away from home 10 hours a day. * hours is wayyyy to long to leave a puppy. I work 6 hours for the convience of my dog and still I get a sitter every chance I can. I dont want him to be alone sick, scared or anything else. maybe you can find a sitter?

What should I do with my EXCESSIVE free time? Help me! Dying of boredom.?

There have been some changes in my life, and basically I have a year of free time. I already spent 6 months of it doing absolutely nothing, except working a job.

I come home and have nothing to do. I have no kids. no significant other, so lots of free time. I get bored working out, bored watching movies, never feel like working on my hobbies, don't feel like pursuing a new relationship. WTF is wrong with me? I need to so something with my free time. Otherwise, I'm headed down the road to failure.

Do you think people look down on housewives who dont have kids?

Who says they don't do anything?
My friend makes all her meals from scratch, keeps the house clean, does the laundry, does the shopping, and makes sure the house is comfortable so when her husband comes home they can spend all their time together instead of spending time doing chores and running errands.
When did everyone decide they have the right to criticize what works for other couples?

I'm losing my job tomorrow, with two kids, a car and a house. What is my best thing to do?

I had a job offer 7 weeks later. I moved for the new job 10 weeks later about 500 miles north. Grabbing some dollars out of my 401k, that became available after rolling over to a traditional IRA, kept me above water. I probably put my retirement target age back about 6 or 10 months.
