Looking For A Well Known Rock Song But Not So Sure What It

What are great songs, yet unknown?

I love all these songs but I would bet if you grabbed 100 random people, only 1 (MAYBE) would have heard of any of 'em:

The Choir "Car, Etc."
Daniel Amos "It's the Eighties (Where's Our Rocket Packs?)"
Nina Simone "Sinnerman"
Bessie Smith "T' Ain't Nobody's Bizness If I Do" (actually famous among blues aficionados..but...most people aren't blues aficionados)
Cab Calloway "Everybody Eats When They Come to My House"
XTC "Mayor of Simpleton" (probably more well-known in their native England, 80s college rock band)
Sister Rosetta Tharpe "This Train" (great old-time gospel tune)
The Orioles "It's Too Soon to Know" (proto-doo-wop)
Al Dexter and the Troopers "Pistol Packin' Mama" (big country hit in the 40s..but there won't be many who still remember it these days)
Jackie Brenston and His Delta Cats "Rocket '88" (considered by some to be the "first" rock 'n' roll song)

@Litehouse: Love that XTC song.

Looking for a popular/well-known 70s(?) song with 'love' in the chorus (classic rock)?

I can't even remember the lyrics. I think it's something like "talk/ing 'bout loooooooooooove." The word love is held for maybe 4 or 5 seconds. It's a really upbeat song. The line is only sung once in the chorus...in fact, it is the whole chorus from what I remember. It has a bit of a funky sound to it as well, if that helps. I'd say it was released during the mid-70s, judging the sound of it. It might be Eric Clapton, but I'm not sure. The song breaks down a bit towards the end, then picks up quickly and goes back into the chorus and from what I remember, the song ends with "loooooooooooooove." The song is only sung by the lead singer, but the chorus has backing vocals on the word love.

What are some good, easy, well-known songs for a beginner to learn to play on an acoustic guitar?

Any song that has easy-to-play chords (with or without capo) and an easy strumming/finger-picking pattern is an easy song.A lot of Bob Dylan, Coldplay, and Ed Sheeran songs are pretty easy to be played on a guitar.A list of easy songs (as far as I can recall):Times like these by Foo fightersBig Me by Foo FightersYellow by ColdplayCrazy little thing called love by QueenA sky full of stars by ColdplayStrawberry Swing by ColdplaySummer of '69 by Bryan AdamsViva la Vida by ColdplayShape of you by Ed SheeranPerfect by Ed SheeranMull of Kintyre by Paul McCartneyGood Riddance by GreendaySleeping Sun by ColdplayHeroes by David BowieWake me up when September ends by GreendayWake me up by AviciiZiggy Stardust by David BowieWheels (acoustic) by Dave GrohlPatience by Guns n RosesCivil War by Guns n Roses (acoustic part)Knockin' on heaven's door by Bob DylanNothing else matters by MetallicaStarving by Hailee StienfeldAll I want by KodalineWonderwall by Oasis21 Guns by GreendayBoulevard of Broken dreams by GreendayLow man's lyric by MetallicaStand By Me by Ben E KingThe Unforgiven by Metallica (acoustic part)Can't help falling in love by Elvis PresleySomething in the way by NirvanaLittle Wonders by Rob Thomas (OST of Meet the Robinsons)Wonderful tonight by Eric ClaptonThree little birds by Bob MarleyLove Comes to Town by U2Hound Dog by Elvis PresleyWorking Class hero by John Lennonet cetera.P.S. What's a great rock song (1960s to 1980s) that's not well-known for any reason (including that it wasn't a commercial hit)?

Thanks for the A2A Claire.I have tons of semi-obscure rock songs that deserved better success than they received. The question is what you consider "rock". Thus, I get to regale you with a variety of rock styles and substyles, allowing me to cover more ground.Rockabilly:Hands-down, this amazing, foot-tapping song deserved to be a success. The artist, however, decided to record a different (and more dull) version of the song instead. Thus, this version lives on only as an obscure "demo" version. I present to you Adam Ant and "Manners of Physique". [Lyrics are NSFW]Pop Rock:All-but unheard of on this side of the Atlantic Ocean is the Spider Murphy Gang with "Mir San a Bayrische Band" ("We're a Band from Bavaria"). Why did this not chart over here? No idea. Maybe because it's not in English?Ska / Rock: (No idea how to classify this.)One of the most talented bunch of musicians to ever perform, the band "Madness" is known for their soft-rock hits "It Must be Love" and "Our House", but before that, they were known for their nutty and up-tempo sound... Are they mad, or One Step Beyond? Here's Madness:Punk Rock:When you think of punk rock on this side of the Atlantic, you'd think of The Stooges, The Ramones, and Teenage Head. On the other side of the Atlantic, the Sex Pistols and the Clash. There are punk acts on both sides of the ocean that most people don't know about. On the European side, there was a strange fellow named Elton Motello, best known for the NSFW song "Jet Boy Jet Girl" and for those of you with delicate ears and sensitive natures, should not play this song. The song didn't do much for Motello, but it became a staple of the punk shows performed [also NSFW] by Captain Sensible and The Damned:On the American side, I present Canada's first punk band DOA, led by a fellow from my Burnaby home-town Joe Keithly, better known by his stage name of "Joey Sh*thead". Here's DOA's cover of "Taking Care of Business"That's enough to whet your musical appetite for now. :-)

What rock song has THE most curse words.?

I'm not sure about the most curse words, but one rock song that displays a level of violence and vulgarity that would make some gangsta rappers take note is Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds version of the old blues standard "Stagger Lee."

What rock song uses violins at the beginning?

The song I'm referring to is extremely well-known, and of couse, I can't find out what it is. The violins are a mellow and melodic at the beginning and they continue throughout the song. I'm thinking the singer is U2, but I'm not sure. I think it's an older song.

Theres a rock song theres a rock song it starts off with a dog barking whats the name and who is it?

Not sure if it classifies as a rock song but there's "She Wants To Move" By N.E.R.D

Im trying to find this hard rock song that has a female lead singer?

It kind of sounds like you're describing Cradle of Filth's "Nymphetamine" video with the girl in a swing singing in a soft voice (Liv Kristine of Leaves' Eyes), but the gothic singer with the black makeup and hard voice in that video is CoF's male vocalist Dani Filth (though the make-up makes it hard to tell :p), so I'm not sure if that's what you're thinking of or not, but it's the first thing that came to mind, at least. Here's the video, anyway...

Could rock musicians write such songs without using drugs? For example, Kurt Cobain from Nirvana.

A2AThere is no doubt that some incredible songs were at least inspired by drugs. Let’s look at three songs inspired in the shower/bath.No More Tears. This is an Ozzy classic and a song that is played at virtually every Ozzy show. It’s iconic in metal. This non-tear jerker was inspired by Ozzy looking that the label of Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo. Yes, the Ozzman saw No More Tears on the label and wrote a song with that title. Was Ozzy on drugs when in the bath looking at the bottle? Well….I’d say the confidence is high, no pun intended, that Ozzy wasn’t entirely sober. Could a sober songwriter come up with it? I’d say yes…it’s possible.Smells Like Teen Spirit. Kurt Cobain’s inspiration for this song title, is the teen bath products that were around at the time called, Teen Spirit. The song has nothing to do with bath products, but it was certainly the inspiration for the title. It’s actually likely that no drugs were involved in the creation of the title, since Kurt didn’t make it up, he just used it.That Hormone Thing. Written by Jeff Martin on the Racer X album Superheroes. This song inspiration was while sitting in the bathroom, while “reading” a Victoria’s Secret catalog. If you weren’t 100% sure listening to the song, Jeff snuck a clue into the 2nd verse.Your secrets On every page My weakness Victoria's exposeThis song was 100% written without any influence of drugs, but certainly under the influence of women.I personally think that your mindset is responsible for the creative process and how it comes out. You can’t be too high, otherwise how would you even begin to remember what you came up with? I’m sure more great ideas were forgotten on drugs, than realized on drugs.
