Looking For An Edited Photo On The Internet

People on the internet tell me that I should always edit my photos, but I've seen photos taken with a film camera that look amazing. What is the best way to take photos with my digital camera emulating the quality found in film?

As many have already said, film photos go through a variety of precesses, from camera lens type, to film emulsion chemistry, to development process and chems, to scanning technique.I’d also stay wary of any advice that recommend to always do something, indiscriminately. This sounds illogical in more ways than one.If you’d like to take photos without spending time on processing them, which I understand may not be something everyone wants to do, spend some time to study the light. Understand that the same camera, lens, sensor can take wildly different shots, even with the same settings, in different light, from different angles. You can improve your photography ten-fold if you focus on light and composition and truly understand it.Also, try shooting film if you like the aesthetic. There are tons of fantastic equipment available online and in stores and it’s no difficult to get and process film. It will hep you to slow down, take less throw-away frames and teach you a little more about light. This isn’t a requirement, just a suggestion; you can do perfectly well with your digital camera if you have a proper technique without ever touching Photoshop.

How do you find the original location of a photo on the internet?

One good way is to try google image search.Save the image to your desktop, then go to images.google.comDrag your image from your desktop to the search box, and voila! The first matches are generally exact matches for the image[In some browsers, you may even be able to drag from your browser into a different tab running images.google.com]Save this image and try it yourself. You'll see a google  search result of this image on Flickr.

Is it illegal to use a photo from the internet on a t-shirt, even if I edit the photo in Photoshop?

If the photograph is copyrighted you are supposed to obtain permission to use it. If the copyright status is uncertain you are not entitled to assume that copyright does not apply so if you come across a photograph on the Internet it may not be OK to use. When people say that they edited a photograph in Photoshop they usually mean that they cropped it [or removed the copyright notice].If the editing in Photoshop is sufficient to claim that the work is an artistic derivative you might be able to legally use it but why take the risk.“In copyright law, a derivative work is an expressive creation that includes major copyright-protected elements of an original, previously created first work (the underlying work). The derivative work becomes a second, separate work independent in form from the first. The transformation, modification or adaptation of the work must be substantial and bear its author's personality sufficiently to be original and thus protected by copyright. Translations, cinematic adaptations and musical arrangements are common types of derivative works. “Derivative work - Wikipedia

How do I photograph/edit a nice looking product photo for advertising (for a beginner)?

Product photography is not an easy process. In photographing products for advertisements, there is a lot of preparation, discussion, and organization that will go into making the actual image. In this article, I will try to show you the process of an advertising shoot from both points of view: photographer as well as the retoucher, since I do both. I will dive into the making of the images, break them down and show you how it is all being put together. I truly believe that all of you will find something interesting whether it is in terms of a cultural aspect or the more technical side.http://photographystatistics.com...

Can I find a (relatively large) dataset of retouched/edited photos on the Internet?

Virtually any publicly accessible collection of photography will have retouched images. Some collections will have a higher percentage than others; some, virtually none.To help  refine your search, it would help to narrow things down a touch: in the most liberal definition, virtually every image on the internet has been manipulated, one way or another. JPEG format images have lost maybe 30% due to compression. Many if not most dedicated photographers do at least some correction between exposure and publication: tweaks to brightness and contrast are common.Other get into radical reshaping of facial features or environment...All that said, here's a search result:https://duckduckgo.com/?q=photog...

Photo Edit : Bra Strap?

I have a really nice pic from my graduation, except that my bra straps are showing. Is it possible to get them out without the picture looking like it has obviously been edited? If so, is there a freeware or shareware program I could use?

How to edit a picture to make it look like handwriting, without looking fake?

Go to DaFont & download some of the Handwriting fonts to your pc.
When you use the text option on Paint.net or GIMP you'll be able to select from the fonts you have installed on your pc.

Also, when adding the text to your photo it will look more realistic if you don't line everything up perfectly or space each line of text exactly the same. You might also want to rotate it slightly or play with the transparency to make it more realistic.
