I'm new to rock. Looking for more bands like New Radicals?

Hi. I only listen to Hip Hop (not the garbage on the radio. real hip hip..) but I recently came across this CD "New Radicals - Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too" and it is incredible. But unfortunately they only made one album :'(. So I'm wondering if there's any other bands that make similar music? Thanks for any help. :)

Im looking for j rock bands :)?

Some suggestions:

Ayabie - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnE8luy_HrQ
They have some very upbeat, catchy songs.

An Cafe - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmTG-ZbH3Mk
A really great band. Lots of their music is kind of pop-ish, though they are a Jrock band.

Screw - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gxjd-8k_AJI
The singer has quite a unique voice.

Rentrer en Soi - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGWyPujAFkA
Some of their music is kind of dark, but very good at the same time.

LM.C - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Bf0vtiXfKA
Not sure if you'll like them, but I think they're worth recommending. This is one of their better-known songs.

Kagrra - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmQv-O27pwU
Kind of a different sort of Jrock, with a more "Japanesque" sound to their music.

Luzmelt - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvlpUSPBrkc
A newer Jrock band, very good. (Sadly I could only find the preview of this song, but it's a really good one.)

As for female Jrock bands, Exist Trace and Danger Gang are both all girls.

Im look for some new bands?

Im look for some new music. I want bands that are really odd and out of the norm, but still good, i like bands like type o negative, reggie and the full effect, MSI and really any thing, but if you could give me a list of good bands who are ether weird or odd or just plane good id really appreciate it. All music goes but rap and country thanks

Looking for some new progressive rock/metal bands.. Need some suggestions. :)?

I've recently got into the progressive genres of metal and rock, and I've fallen in love.

Gender of the singer doesn't matter.
Mostly looking for modern (1990-today) bands, seeing as I've heard of/listened to most of the oldies of prog.

Bands I've recently discovered (just a few): Glass Hammer, Thieve's Kitchen, Symphony X, Transatlantic, Dream Theater, Jordan Rudess, The Flower Kings, Spock's Beard, Porcupine Tree, Andromeda, Karnivool, Shadow Gallery, Above Symmetry, RPWL, and a myriad of others.

-- * --Not looking for death/gothic metal.. I don't like the 'growling' of vocalists. Disgusts me, and, in my opinion, ruins the song, even if the instrumental-part of the song is fantastic. -- * --
The vocalist's voice, however, can be a little scratchy. Just no freakin' growling or screaming in every song. [For instance, I enjoy the band "Budgie" - awful vocalist, excellent music]

Anything is useful, and all feedback is appreciated.

If I'm looking to get into modern rock, what bands or albums should I explore?

Since modern rock encompasses so many bands and albums, I'll try my best to be diverse:Black Holes and Revelations - MuseBoys & Girls - Alabama ShakesAM - Arctic MonkeysCurrents - Tame ImpalaIs This It - The StrokesRoyal Blood - Royal BloodSongs for The Deaf - Queens of the Stone AgeA Fever You Can’t Sweat Out - Panic! At The DiscoNoel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds - Noel Gallagher’s High Flying BirdsThe Black Parade - My Chemical RomanceWe Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank - Modest MouseSongs About Jane - Maroon 5Hmm! I love this album and I'm so sad that they never made another album that sounds like this one.Eye To the Telescope - KT TunstallHot Fuss - The KillersHopes and Fears - KeaneGet Born - JetThe Glorious Dead - The HeavyBlak and Blu - Gary Clark Jr.Anything by Dirty LoopsI honestly don't know as what I’d classify them, since it's like jazz-rock electro-dance pop fusion, but they sound awesome.Dance Gavin Dance - Dance Gavin DanceGood Apollo I'm Burning Star IV - Coheed and CambriaGrow - CHONEl Camino - The Black KeysOpposites - Biffy ClyroAvenged Sevenfold - Avenged SevenfoldThe Best Date - The Electriceels
