Looking To Advertise A Rental In Nj But

I am looking for a cheap rental car one way?

I live in New York City and am planning a road trip. The plan is to drive from here to North Carolina and I am looking for a company that rents one way with rates that are affordable (since all the big companies charge around 80$/day). We would be flying back to save some time.
We are willing to take a train to New Jersey or Newark airport if this will help and starting our road trip there.. any suggestions for a company that might have rates for less than 50$/day?

Where can I find no-fee owner-direct apartment rental listings in New York City besides UrbanEdgeNY.com?

After having moved in the city 5 times in the past 7 years, I find that it's still difficult to use the web to weed through a lot of the broker-acting-as-owner listings that then discuss fees. In addition to the sites above (especially www.streeteasy.com and www.nybits.com, which I find to have been decent), I've done the following:Craigslist can still work. Just be careful because there are a lot of people posing as owners who have ulterior motives. If anything, craigslist is a good way to find numbers, call people up, see who are owners of buildings, and go from there.Walk around the neighborhood you want to move to and jot down numbers that owners post on the outside of buildings. Yes, I recognize this is an extremely time-intensive undertaking, but as you will see, a lot of owners are happy to pick up the phone and chat with you about their listings as well as what is coming up. Also, when you are walking around, simply make a point to take notice of numbers...perhaps a landlord/owner owns multiple buildings, not just in the neighborhood that you happen to be walking around in, at that time.Get a registry of all (most) landlords in the city and their number. Caveat: I know this sounds super sketchy, and you have to buy the list for about $40, but it's a one time fee and provides you with the contact information for a lot of owners in the city. Here is a link to the service I used: http://landlordlinks.net/. I spoke with a guy named Robb Ackley who was very helpful, and this source ultimately helped me find the landlord that I signed with who I would not have otherwise found using the traditional online channels, craigslist.org, etc. It's also worth mentioning that I have finally found a place that I will definitely be staying at for more than a year or two, which is a big relief for anyone who has ever gone through the trouble of moving in this city.Hope that helps!

How do I get an apartment without having a job?

everything is negotiable and this is too, however, things will go more smoothly if you already have a job that you're moving too. since you have money saved up, use some of that money to go to chicago and find employment before you need the apartment.

apartment complexes tend to have more rules than individual owners so you might want to start looking through the classified ads to find owners who only own a few properties or less. interview these landlords and negotiate with them.

here are a couple options:
1) find a rental that will do short term leases (possibly month to month) and ask for a 3 month lease, all paid in advance!

2) negotiate a lease for 3 months with the option to extend with proof of employment. if you don't get the jobs you're expecting the owner can make you leave.

3) have a friend or family member cosign the lease agreement; you may need to offer some other collateral besides extra payments.

4) look to buy a house going into foreclosure. you can purchase the house with (almost) nothing down and just start making the new payments. they don't have credit checks when you buy a house "subject to" the existing mortgage. however, if you do this you need to be absolutely sure you can get the job and make those payments because you'll be injuring someone else's credit if you don't make those payments.

there are 4 options for you. i noticed that several other posts have suggested getting the job first. i agree, that is the easiest option but it isn't the only option. you'll just have to decide how badly you want to fight for a home in chicago.

Craigslist : How to post in parking and storage section?

I am basically looking for a spot where I can park my car and hence wanted to post an ad on Craigslist. I do see that there is a parking and storage section in Craigslist but I am unable to figure out how do I post my requirement in that section? Please help if anyone knows.

What's the best way to market my short term vacation rental?

I recommend using a realtor. Many by owner sites charge fees that are as much or more than the commission a realtor charges and you still have to do all the work to involved in booking and servicing your rental. An Agency will represent your best interests while advising you about price, advertise your property, book your rental, write and send leases, collect deposits and hold security deposits in escrow, help you resolve problems that occur during the tenancy and help make your tenants visit enjoyable so they return. In NJ is you rent qith a realtor you will avoid the occupancy tax as well.

What is the law regarding renting out a room in your house in New Jersey?

Brian is mostly correct, as long as you own your house you need to check with your local housing department. That would probably be your city, maybe your county.Sometimes there are elaborate rules that you will need to conform with, sometimes there is nothing. However if you ask someone in the housing apartment, you then might be on their radar, so I would not give them your actual address. What most people would do would be not bother to find out what the rules are, draw up at least that you find on the internet, and rent out your room for something which you think is reasonable. You can advertise on Craigslist. Please be careful about who you invite to live in your house because after all it's your house, and you have a lot of stuff there. Think about putting locked doors on all the bedrooms.

Is there a site like Zillow for commercial real estate?

There are several sites out there that serve as online commercial real estate databases the same way Zillow operates for residential properties. However, there’s always a catch. The most comprehensive services out there will charge you considerable fees to search through their databases, although some people consider it worthwhile. Here are some of the biggest ones:RealAtomRealAtom is the largest online marketplace for commercial real estate borrowers to access the most lenders quickly and get multiple offers. Prior to lending marketplaces like RealAtom, CRE borrowers had to go bank to bank, or use a mortgage broker that charges significant fees to find the right bank or alternative lender who would grant them a loan. Online marketplaces like RealAtom make this process much more efficient by allowing borrowers to reach 2,500+ lenders with a single loan request, instantly. This makes the loan process much faster, efficient, and requires less effort than traditional methods. The team at RealAtom has more than 40 years of experience in the commercial real estate, finance and technology industries. RealAtom has access to the largest network of commercial real estate lenders in the nation and it offers streamlined CRE loan solutions for everyone in the space.ApartmentBuildings.comApartmentBuildings.com is another great sites that serves commercial real estate property owners and business owners seeking to buy or rent a spot. The site has a large database that covers most major metropolitan hubs in the U.S. and it is suited for both commercial real estate investors and those seeking to sell their properties. The site allows you to search for multifamily properties in the market, as well as land that you can buy to build your own commercial property. It has a simple and intuitive portal that suits investors of all experience levels.OfficeSpace.comAnother useful one is OfficeSpace.com, which links up commercial real estate properties, industry professionals and more. The site is relatively easy to use with single sign-on support, an easily customizable database that integrates various applications and a well-ironed mobile visual directory.Scheduling is easy on the site, while email and chat notifications keep you locked into your business at all times. You will also get information on how your facility is being used, as well as advanced APIs and data analytics on real estate properties.

My fiance and I rented an apartment and now the landlord is demanding one of us move out. Would he have any chance of winning?

We were supposed to get married in december, right before we were going to move in, but decided to wait until June. The landlord has taken issue with the fact that we share a bedroom and we aren't married. Nothing in the lease or the rules indicate anything of the sort, but he insists it is his right. We offered to just terminate the lease next month, but he says we would owe rent until he gets it re-rented and said he likely won't advertise it.
