Looking Up Details Of My Collection Of Books

What is a collection of books called?

The commonest answer suggested is “a library of books” but that is misleading because a collection of books may be scattered on the floor (like in my office, ha ha) or in boxes (like in my closet, ha ha). Other possibilities are a series of books or a shelf of books — pretty uninspired. The best literal term is the one librarians themselves use as the most general term and which the question in fact uses, thereby answering itself: a collection of books. Many libraries have administrative units using this term, e.g. Collections Development, Special Collections, etc.But I presume that something whimsical along the lines of “a murder of crows” is wanted, so I humbly suggest “a pageant of books”, with runner-up, “a cooking of books”. Of course if you don’t like my suggestions you might consider “a burning of books”.

How can I sell my comic book collection?

I have over 400 different Moder Age comics, mostly from the 80s and 90s. How can I sell them?
I don't think Ebay would be an option just because of the number of comics, and the time constraints of selling each one individually.

Do you have a large book collection?

Yes, I have a large collection of books. Haven’t counted them but I’m sure they number in the hundreds. We live in a house that has beautiful built-in bookshelves (one of the things that attracted us to this house) and have filled those shelves completely, as well as several other bookcases scattered around the house. I have a couple hundred ebooks as well, and a few audiobooks. My father valued books and reading and taught me to do the same. I also make regular use of the public library so I can keep up with new books without breaking the bank. Very grateful to be able to pay taxes to support the public library.

What books are in your personal collection?

Even though I'm a vagabond right now, books are an integral part of my luggage. I always carry around 5–6 with me and have around 40+ books at my home. This is what my current collection looks like:The Intelligent Investor: Because Mr. Buffet said it is the best book he read on investing.Questions are the Answers: Because it was no 1 best seller in marketing section on Amazon.Eat that Frog: Because I’m a Brian Tracy fan (go watch few of his videos on the YouTube, you’ll thank me later!)Who moved my cheese: Short motivational story about “why you should keep reinventing and keep learning” (completed this in few hours)Getting Things Done: Because it was no 1 in the productivity section on Amazon.Deep work: Because I watched author’s TED talk.Think and Grow Rich: One of the must read book, before you die!The little Book Of Common Sense Investing: The book talks about index funds and investment.Rich Dad Poor Dad: Great book for learning basic finance and investments.Copycat Marketing 101: Short and fun reading on marketing. The Art Of Thinking Clearly: As the name suggests, it has lots of gyan on how to focus and make right decisions.Travelling is no fun with this much extra weight, maybe I’ll switch to Kindle in couple of days.

What are some good books/links to understand garbage collection, JVM, classloaders, Java memory structure and Java internals in detail and depth?

That's a BIG question, because your questions covers a lot of ground and therefore a lot of books. It all depends on your personal knowledge level, which you haven't told us about...I have set up a list of top Java books and sorted from beginner to expert.Marcus Biel Software Craftsman – Must Read TOP 10 JAVA Programming BooksI would mostly focus on good authors, and these are:Kathy Sierra - regarding more advanced topics, read her OCA/OCP 7 book.(Robert C. Martin - Clean Code not related to your question)Dough LeaJoshua BlochBut if you really want to know about JVM internals - there are not many books about those internals out there.Maybe "Decompiling Java" or "Inside the Java Virtual Machine 2".Also, you might want to have a look at the offical language specifications, they are available as free pdf and as printed books, as far as I know. The contain A LOT of details, but are very tough to read (NO FUN!)I am also working on a Java Video Course, but at this is also not related to your book question, I am not going in further details (Look in my profile or look up my name...)

How do I find my stolen comic book collection?

Open a phone book or check online and find every comic book store in a 50 mile radius. Call them all and mention your collection was stolen and be on the look out for anyone selling one. Describe the books inside it.

If you were buying in the 80s and 90s, though, it'll look like every other comic collection out there.
