Loss Of Finger Control

How did Sauron die when he lost his finger but Frodo didn't?

Sauron didn't die, he just vanished and I think became weak because his only strength was the ring. Frodos strength was not in the ring, however the ring was trying to take control of him

If I cut off my finger and don't cover it, how long would it take to bleed to death?

I am not a medical person, but there are no large veins or arteries in your fingers. You probably would be fine after a while. There are other places on the body that will bleed out alarmingly quickly.

How much is one finger worth?

Workers compensation is a defined benefit system in all 50 states. That means you identify the part of the body injured, the wage earned, the percentage of the wage used as a compensation rate and multiply to get the dollar value.Joan Hoffman gave you the Michigan values. In Illinois the weeks alocated for amputation or total loss of use are :1.Thumb 76 weeks2.Index finger 43 weeks3.Middle finger 38 weeks4.Ring finger 27 weeks5.Little finger 22 weeksAs of May 1, 2014 the minimum compensation rate if you are single wit no dependents is $220.00; the maximum is based solely on wages earned in a base period and is $721.66Therefore if you are at the minimum rate and cut off your little finger going into the middle bone you will get 22 X $220.00, or $4840.00.If you are at the maximum rate you would get 22 X $721.66 or $15876.52.(The valuation based on level of amputation follows the Michigan pattern)It does not matter if the amputation is on the dominant or non dominant hand in Illinois. In some states such as Kentucky I believe, there would be a multupluer if you had the injury on both sides although I am not sure if that applies to finger amputations.

My fingers curl up and I lose control of them sometimes. Why is this?

Dupuytren's contracture affects the fingers and the palm of the hand. This condition usually develops slowly. It may take many years to develop. The pinky finger and the ring finger are most often affected. These fingers start to curve inward, like a claw. At some point, the fingers cannot go straight anymore. This can make it hard to do things like:Put on gloves.Shake hands.Grab something off a shelf. The condition usually does not cause pain and is not dangerous. The condition gets its name from the doctor who came up with an operation to fix the problem. His name was Baron Guillaume Dupuytren. Contracture means pulling inward.

Touch-pad loss of Edge Motion scrolling function?

After a longer or shorter time (sometimes days, other times an hour or less), Edge Motion scrolling (Mouse wheel scrolling?) ceases to function correctly. When I try to scroll, the page moves only after lifting my finger from the touch-pad. All other touch-pad functions (corner taps, etc.) continue to work properly. I use a browser (currently Firefox) more than other software. I don't remember it first occurring in any software other than Firefox or Netscape. After it occurs it behaves the same in all programs: Notepad, Firefox, WordPerfect, IE (which I almost never use), etc. I tried blocking certain types of graphics (Flash) but that didn't prevent it from occurring. Restarting Windows restores Edge Motion scrolling. I have an 850 Mhz AMD processor w/ 128 MB of RAM on a Compaq Presario Notebook running Win ME using Firefox 1.5.0.3.

Finger tip numbness and dry skin?

New years day I cut my thumb open on a cigar cutter, got 6 stitches and its healed quite nicely. Stitches are not out yet but that should not be causing my problem. A day after the incident the left side of my thumb tip running down the left side of the finger up to the injured area is numb and this has lasted til present day (1 week later) my entire hand was getting very dry on and off saturday but I decided that was because I had not been moving it much. That stopped but the numb area on my thumb reamains dry and is also slightly flakey. Through some research many people have had the exact same problem (some genetic problem/ fungis) but not resulting from something very immediate like a serious cut. Is this something else? Im also wondering if this will go away with time or If I need to do something to fight this.
dryness looks like the dry desert but really small/ numbness is only on outer layer of skin if I push down harder on the area I can feel it.... thoughts?

Orgasm causes loss of muscle control in hands?

Okay, this has NEVER happened to me before so I wanted to see if anyone else experienced this ... Shortly after my orgasm, my eyelids began twitching, my lips tightened into an O shape and I couldn't move my lips out of this position. Then, my hands began tingling and my muscles in my hands began contracting. I literally made fists and was unable to open my hands. We stopped. My hands were tingling so bad it felt as though they had been asleep. I stayed like this for about 5 or 6 minutes then my muscles in my hands slowly began to relax. My husband pried my fingers apart and held my hand with each of his fingers in between mine. After my muscles relaxed, I was shaking. Other than that I felt okay. I was scared because I couldn't control my muscles. Anyone have any idea on what happened?

What does it mean when you lose fingers in a dream...?

You are losing your grip on something important in your life.

This is interesting because you are also dreaming of overcoming a problem. I believe you are in a state of flux.

If I were to cut off blood supply to a finger for 3 hours would I lose control over it forever?

Yes you would loose control over it as the cells present in your finger would be devoid of oxygen and nutrients and be dead in 3 hours. Moreover the nerve cells don't replicate leading to permanent loss of senses i.e control of the finger.
