Loud Snoring Neighbor

Loud snoring neighbor?

He is extremely loud at night until 4am and then snores so loudly that I can hear it throughout my apartment. I've left a kindly written note on his door about his music and snoring and still nothing has changed. I've also filed a noise complaint several times and he still plays loud music into the night and has done nothing to suppress his snoring. I tapped on the walls one morning to try and get some sleep and the jerk started beating on the walls and turned on his vacuum and left it beside his wall. I want to take the most drastic route possible. I need sleep.

My neighbors snore so loudly?

Yes..im sorry you have to go through this.Ive been in a situation like this more times than I would like..you should write him a note: (see below)

Dear Neighbor,

My intent is to make you aware of the fact that you snore very loudly, the walls are thin and My husband and I cant get any sleep. It isnt your fault. And im not upset.I just want you to consult your physician and discuss it with him. Please do so as soon as possible. You see..Im sensitive to noise and I cannot just ignore this.I hear you snore everynight.I would like to remain anonymous to avoid any conflict that may arise..It would be nice if I could get more than 3 hours of sleep at night..I hope you take this letter into consideration and understand that this can easily be resolved if you take the necessary steps to troubleshoot this problem..Dont feel bad.Alot of people snore, its just that I can hear you and after months of keeping silent I am at the cliff brink of my sanity..

Signed,Sealed Delivered..

My neighbor snores so loud, what can I do!?

I live in New york city, my lease ends in June. I can't wait to move out.. Seems like the bastard moved his bed on the other side of the wall....from my bed. He snores like an animal.. I can hear him from the living room :(

I randomly chose this topic.... even if it doesn't go in here! (Didn't know where to put it) Sorry my grammar sucks.. I'M ANNOYED!!
What should I do? I used to turn the AC on so I won't be able to hear him.. went through many colds this winter due to that! Now they are starting to charge electricity, which is why I don't want to leave it on all night. Should I complain? 3,000/month to not being able to sleep at night is just terrible. The NYC night ambience doesn't bother me, but his snoring is just TERRIBLE.

How do I get my neighbor to stop snoring?

You can't shut him up. Move to a different room. If you must, buy a couch that opens up to a bed and sleep there. It will be an inconvenience and maybe not the most comfortable place to sleep but at least you can sleep peacefully without hearing all your neighbour's noises. You could also try a white noise machine or playing the radio softly at night.

Nasty snoring neighbor! What can I do?

Create a log of complaints. Go to your landlord, calmly and explain some of the things that upset you. Give dates, times and specific details. Keep a log for yourself as well. Record the noise or invite your landlord in when you can hear him snoring etc. Ask to be kept anonymous if possible.

She cannot kick him out for no reason, but with enough evidence and filed complaints to back it up she may be able to. If you know any of your neighbors encourage them to do the same.

Neighbor contantly snoring!!!!!???

My father in law had this problem. He lived in a condo and the guy next door was snoring so loud that you could hear it through the walls. He had a drywall company come in and place a second layer of sheet rock on the wall. He may have even had a layer of fiberglass insulation placed in between. He also used an air purifier to help muffle the sound.
The guy probably has sleep apnea. It is where you actually stop breathing and then gasp for air. Sleep apnea puts you at higher risk for strokes and heart attack. Most people with sleep apnea do not even realize that they have it or that they are waking up hundreds of times a night. He would have to check into a sleep clinic for an over night stay where they monitor him all night. One tell tale sign is dozing off easliy during the day because you are so sleep deprived. Patients with sleep apnea can wear a special mask hooked up to a machine that forces air down their throat when they sleep. Very overweight people usually have sleep apnea.
If your neighbor is friendly, I would say:
"I have to tell you something because I am very concerned about you. Do you feel exceptionally tired through out the day? I am asking you this because I can hear you snoring very, very loudly every night and it is not a normal sounding snore. I actually wear ear plugs to block it out so that I can sleep which makes my ears hurt in the morning"................. Then go on to explain what I told you about it and the risks. Whether he decides to go to a clinic is a whole different story but at least you can try!

What can be done regarding my neighbor that snores so loud it wakes me up throughOut the night? I have spoken to him, keeps telling me in a couple months he will get a sleep apnea machine.

I do sympathise with you. I used to have a neighbour who worked shifts and would arrive home at about 2.30 am (when I was sound asleep) almost always with a guest or two. They weren’t hugely loud but their normal conversations were *loud* amid the quiet of the night. Our brains interpret noise levels - especially at night - in many ways including the nearness of danger. We might well sleep through storms or heavy traffic passing outside our window, but a human voice or other *living* sound can act as an alarm bell.I have slept through a blizzard and yet been woken by a flatmate quietly padding through the hallway at night.Since your neighbour shows no immediate sign of getting this machine, could your perhaps change your bedroom to another room in the meantime? If not, could you move your bed to another part of your bedroom, so that the head is furthest from the connecting wall?Another option is to try a masking sound. Have a recording of something like the sea, or rainfall, that you can play over the sound of his snoring. it doesn’t have to be loud - just enough to cover his noise. As I said, it’s often easier to sleep through this type of ‘background’ noise than through human/living sounds.

What do you do when your neighbor snore so loud it wakes you up?

Talk to your neighbor about it. I’m sure he knows he snores, but he may not realize how loudly. It’s very possible he has sleep apnea as I do. Before my CPAP machine I could peel paint with my snoring and be heard half a block away. After I got the machine I don’t snore at all, or at least very little. If he has sleep apnea it needs to be treated, not just so you can sleep, but because there are serious health risks associated with it.Sleep apnea - Symptoms and causes
