Low Songs For Females To Sing

Can you name some female singers that sing low songs?

I'm completely the same! Try...
Stuck Like Glue, Sugarland
Rolling in the deep (not the chorus. this song is also one of my favorites to warm up!), Adele
Shadows of the night, Pat Benetar
Dear Mr. President, Pink
Nasty Naughty Boy, Christina Aguilera
Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Pat Benetar
F*ck You, Cee Lo Green (not female, sorry. Good song to sing for the lower ranges though!)
Hurt, Christina Aguilera

To add power to the notes you can hit, fill your diaphram (tummy) and just sing like no one is watching. Confidence is the most important key... For high notes sing like you're talking in your head or if you have some friends who have a higher vocal range sing with them... Sometimes the only reason you can't hit a note is simply because you're scared. I was like that for the play I was in, but I sang with my old music teacher from like 3rd grade and he helped me! Haha, use anything you can!

PS I know that you said you can't do Christina Aguilera, but practice! I'm sure you can get it.

How many tones should a song arranged for a female singer typically be lowered when a male wants to sing it?

as you yourself pointed out, it depends on who originally sang the song ( as written) and who's going to be singing it next. If it's a "soprano" song, and a tenor is going to sing it, it should be able to stay where it is, only an octave down.
If it's a "soprano" song, and will be sung by a baritone, a major third or even a fourth down will do well.
If it's an "alto" song, to be sung by a tenor, he may need to move it up a minor third. ( a baritone can sing it, as is, just the octave down)

I'm looking at my collection of Classical songs here ( Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, etc) and this is the difference the editors have given to the "high" voice versus "low" voice editions. Seems to be fairly standard.
Pop singers have it easier- they don't blink twice if they need to transpose. Classical singers are supposed to sing as written. Especially in an opera ( although there have been famous exceptions).

What is an easy song for Alto females to sing?

I answered a similar question like this before. Here is my response.

Look for contralto/alto type singers and their songs. Anita Baker (songs like Sweet Love, Angel), Amy Whinehouse (although she isn't a great role model, Trouble is good), Nina Simone (anything by her), Oleta Adams (Get Here), Diana Krall, Rhianna (Umbrella, Don't Stop The Music). Mariah Carey isn't an alto, but Shake it Off is pretty low in range and Vision of Love (except for that whistle tone at the end...you can skip that) is also. Roberta Flack's Killing Me Softly or Lauryn Hill's version will work too. Lauren's cover of Can't Take My Eyes off of You is good for your voice type too.

Remember, any jazz song would fit your range, because most female jazz singers are alto voices.

If you need songbooks, look for book for either Contralto or Mezzo Soprano on the front of them. Also, the ones that obviously say "low" or "meduim low" voice. You can buy compositions individually also.

Some male artists you can borrow from are Stevie Wonder (All I Do, Ribbon in the Sky, Overjoyed), Robin Thicke's new one, Chris Brown's Hearts song, any male with a tenor voice will work since you have the notes.

There it is. In addition to that, try out different arrangements in your instrument that suites you. There are different types of altos. One song may be easier for you to sing that isn't easy for another alto. Test your specific instrument with pieces and go from there.

What are the best Bollywood female, low-pitch songs?

There was a time when female playback singers were preferred for their high pitched renditions. In the recent times, the market is more open to female singers who can render low-pitched songs. Also, many romantic songs nowadays have lyrics that can be sung/ adapted by both male and female singers.. take cover versions like Jeena jeena (Badlapur), Kaun Tujhe (Dhoni), Bulleya (ADHM) for instance, that find equal popularity among the singers of other genders! So you can imagine how fluid and flexible it's become now to adapt songs for everyone…However, few prominent ones come to mind for low-pitched female voices:Paani da female version (Vicky Donor)Main tenu samjhawan (Humpty Sharma ki dulhaniya)Teri galliyaan (Ek Villian)Main Pareshaan (Ishaqzaade)Mudi mudi Ittefaq se (Paa)Manmarziyaan (Lootera)Tose naina lage (Anwar)Mar Jaawan (Fashion)Sawaar Loon (Lootera)Moh moh ke dhaage (Dum laga ke haisha)Hansi ban gaye (Humari Adhoori Kahaani)Sun mere humsafar (Badri ki Dulhaniya)Zara zara behekta hai (RHTDM)Sajna aa bhi jaa (Waisa bhi hota hai II)Raabta (Agent Vinod)Mohabbat barsa dena tu (Creature 3D)Kabhi jo baadal barse (Jackpot)Sab tera (Baaghi)Rasiya (Kurbaan)Kabira (Ye Jawaani hai Deewani)Happy singing :)
