Lump Feeling In Throat. What Could It Be

Why does I have a lump feeling in throat after eating?

I don’t know and no one reading your question knows either. One individual tried to diagnose you — sight unseen, without a valid medical license. Diagnoses don’t take place online. Another suggested globes sensation, also called globus pharyngeus. Globus is a persistent sensation and has physical and psychological causes. Does sipping a drink temporarily alleviate the sensation?Yes, globus can be caused by GERD and tonsillitis. It’s also associated with anxiety disorders, depression, muscle disorders, allergic esophagitis (eosinophilic esophagitis), Zenkr’s diverticulum (which is a bulging, a ballooning of tissue in the throat) and neoplasms (growths both benign and malignant). However, the two most common reasons behind this sensation are GERD and anxiety. This does appea to cause you some concern and perhaps discomfort so I strongly suggest you see your primary doctor about it. You may initially be referred to ENT. If this turns out to be most likely psychological, please see a psychologist or clinical social worker to help you. Anxiety can also be a component of depression. Good luck to you.

What is this lump I get in the throat?

You are not the one who has this lump in throat. I would not be able to answer this without diagnosis so i would advise you to find an ENT specialist such as Dr. David Greene Arizona in your area and go for check and listen him.

How to get rid of that "lump in the throat" feeling?

since the feeling is tied to your high anxiety it is unlikely you'll be able to get rid of that feeling without removing or at least alleviating the root problem. it's great that you know these two things are related, so hopefully it'll help you in conquering this beast.

i've occasionally dealt with high anxiety and the best solution for me is to build up an arsenal of small tricks that i'll try methodically until one works. my favorite two are distraction and deep breathing. to distract myself i keep a pencil and a crossword handy, or perhaps 10 minutes of my favorite comedy movie. to breathe deeply i combine it with a little whistling exercise (whistle a scale or a song, but stretch it out and alternate every other note with breathing in or out) and to my surprise it usually relaxes me.

after practicing for a while i find i can usually catch intense anxiety before it gets out of control, which has helped to get rid of that sinking, hollow feeling in my stomach for the most part.

good luck!

Wisdom teeth related to lump in throat feeling?

Long story short been having symptoms like tightness feeling in throat after I choked on food. Got a scope done said there was a little irritation. Felt fine after that then it came back. Now have swollen lynpnod on throat so went back to the doctors said I had some drainage and tonsils looked red so gave me Antiboctics didn't do anything then went to er they seem to think its gerd. So I'm on stomach acid meds. Been taking them still no effect. But my front top teeth hurt into the gums the other day. And I'm 20 years old and a male. And my left ear hasn't been hurting but felt like needed to pop(left side) Could this be wisdom teeth related? Haven't had a lot of pain in that area but mild pain not often though. But my right second molar is angled forward like its impacting my first moler. Same side as my swollen glade on throat? I just need some options

Lump in the throat feeling, a constant feeling of wanting to take a deep breath, and?

Sorry to hear about your condition, I have experienced something similar but it was very fleeting so I didnt got to the doctor, however I found this page when I was going through mine, and it flagged up indigestion and allergies....I do have allergies so I put it down to that. A lot of people have been told it is stress related. I found putting my hand on the bottom of my belly and imagining that I was breathing into my hand, if you know what i mean, making sure my belly EXPANDED when i breathed in (not raising my shoulders) and went down when i breathed out. A lot of people do this the other way around. It worked for me and it was also really great for the stress. Take a look at the forum link I found....
Hope it helps in some way, and that someone has a brilliant remedy for you, sorry I couldnt be of any more assistance! xx http://ehealthforum.com/health/can-t-take-a-deep-breath-t139883.html
