Do the new MacBook Pros still have a problem with the screen coating wearing off in a few months?

This has been a massive problem for them. It is not just me with the problem, it is a well known problem worldwide and Apple are well aware of it.This has not been a “massive problem” for them. It’s been a relatively minor problem that Apple has acknowledged and fixed. They also have offered a warranty extension on machines that have that issue. And they have fixed it on subsequent models. It also didn’t wear off in a “couple months”; it wore off over a long period of time. So, minor issue that affected a small number of devices that Apple fixed in subsequent models and fixed the existing machines that had a problem. Of course, Apple gets measured by the special measuring stick where tiny issues get blown out of proportion and made to seem much bigger than they are.

My 2016 MacBook Pro has a screen problem, and I bought it 2 weeks ago, will I get a replacement with Apple care warranty?

You should be able to get a replacement screen, however, the new screen would have similar issues as their current supply of screens has inherent issues. Read on for details. If the screen of the MacBook lights up unevenly, or you have bright spots on the screen, then even if get a replacement screen, it would not solve your issue.I bought my MacBook in 2011, and its screen has bright spots. I took the system to the Apple’s shop and was initially told that all of the system that they had, had a similar problem. In short, all of the devices on display had unevenly lit screens with bright spots here and there. Upon my insistence, they agreed to replace the screen, however, the new screen still has the same problem: bright spots in 4 different places. When I brought this to their notice, I was told that there is nothing more that they can do, and I will have to learn to live with the problem. My niece received a MacBook Pro a couple of weeks ago, and its screen has similar issues. So when it comes to getting a screen fixed, people at Apple cannot help you much as their supply of screens is faulty. However, by insisting a lot, you would probably be able to get a new screen, but it would not make much of a difference.

Macbook Pro screen went black, is this common?

To test if you have a software or hardware issue, restart while holding the command and R keys for 45 seconds.

Do you still have a black screen?

"No"
Then it is software. If you have Windows installed by Boot Camp, the black screen can be related to Windows not loading. Otherwise, reinstall Mac OS X.

"Yes"
Then reset SMC and NVRAM ("PRAM").
(Technically, these are firmware resets, not actual hardware, but it isn't any software file. A similar idea on a PC is BIOS.)

The issue of Desktop Picture failing to load can be caused by any one of these:

– Disconnecting an external display or projector.
Usually waiting half a minute will allow your chosen picture to switch back in.

– Corrupt preference file.
Trash com.apple.desktop.plist
You will need to use "Go" menu in Finder to "Go to Folder", type:
~/Library/Preferences
and click "Go" to see that file.

– Incorrect permissions.
"Repair Disk Permissions" in Disk Utility.

As for "fried" drive, that's not caused by Mac vs PC. A PC uses the exact same drive as Mac.
Also, 80% of "fried" or "toast" or "ruined" drives are not broken. Most people just don't want to erase the drive ("format") to fix it. As a "lifelong PC user", surely you know about backup. Apple nearly forces you to make a backup by including Time Machine, putting the TM icon on the Dock, and causing a default reaction of the TM setup popping open when you connect an external drive the first time. Something about lead a horse to water...

Problems connecting Macbook Pro with HDMI TV?

I have a Macbook pro, 2011, with a mini display port. I connected it to my tv with a mini display port to HDMI cord, then changed the channel to the corresponding HDMI Channel. The TV and computer sync, with a blue screen.
Then the TV flashes black, static, and then my computer screen, over and over again. It flashes each only for a couple seconds, and I think I hear an occasional buzz from my TV?
I was hoping someone had a clue as to what is wrong-is it my TV, Cord, or Computer? Anything I did wrong?
Thanks for the help-it is much appreciated!
