Macbook Pro Taking Forever To Fully Charge And Then The Battery Drains Very Quickly. Whats Going On

Why is my macbook battery dying quickly?

If it's new then take it back to the apple store, it has a 1 year warranty. But I think it's the way you are running it.

The number 1 component that consume the most battery life is your screen, turning down the brightness level will give your battery the extra boost.

Second item that consume battery life is the CPU and the drive, so setting the asleep timing when idle to like 5 minutes interval will boost your battery life. Even if you don't close the screen

Third thing that will affect battery level is background tasks, so if you have time machine backup every 30 minutes, it will increase the battery usage. Then set a longer interval whatever background task you have. Or plug it in.

If you on the go and can't juice it, then set it to sleep every time you are not using it. Or set the screen to turn off every 5 min or so.

Try this and see. You can do a test. Write down the battery level now. Close the lid, which will put the laptop to sleep (as long as you didn't change this behavior in the pref) then open it back up in an hour or 2 or overnight, see what the battery level is then. It should be the same or almost the same. If you are sure it was sleep and the battery ran down significantly, then take it back to the genius bar at the apple store, they will take care of you.

Good luck.

Why does my macbook pro run out of batteries so quickly?

Wow Mac haters.

First how old is your laptop? if it's a couple years old then the battery could be running on its last days.

Second you can check your battery's capacity by clicking apple sign on top left menu bar, then go about this mac, then go more detail, the click on the power menu on the left then check the capacity of your battery. High = good battery life, low = short battery life, etc.

There are alot of free mac widgets out there that can help you too.
Try coconut battery and istat pro.

If your battery capacity is high and it's only last 10 minutes the chances are you got a faulty battery. Go to one of the apple store and get a replacement if you're under applecare if not then buy a new one.

Macbook Pro (13") battery draining fast...?

Please remember that certain functions take up more battery life, also they say seven but expect 4 to 5 it's always been like that even with windows systems. Also to save some battery power and increase your battery life you should be able to change the settings to gain a bit more use out of your battery, i.e. having the screen a bit dimmer when you don't have it connected to the wall.

Why does my iPhone's battery drain quickly?

The first thing you may want to to is bring your iPhone into an Apple store. They can help you determine if it's a hardware issue. If it's not a hardware issue, below are a few things you can do to preserve battery life. One of the biggest battery drains is screen brightness. To make sure your brightness is not too high, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. You should see this pop up. From here, you can turn down the brightness if it's too high. The screens below are all available from Settings:Now, you'll want to see which apps are draining the most juice.Apple has battery usage stats built into the OS.To see them:1. (first to to Settings, as shown at the beginning above) Go to Usage2. Then click "Battery Usage."3. Voila! You can see which apps are using the most battery. To turn off apps' ability to auto-refresh in the background:1. (from Settings, as shown above) 2. Then go to Background App Refresh. 3. From here, you can toggle indivual apps off, or just turn all of them off, based on what you just learned about which apps are hogging battery.GPS is also a huge drain. Some apps are on all the time pinging your location. To adjust your location settings, and restore some sanity on your phone:1. From settings, go to privacy2. Then, go to "Location Services."3. Finally, you can scroll through the list of apps using your location. I noticed that Dropbox was a battery hog, so I turned its setting from "Always" to "Never." (all Dropbox needs my GPS for is to begin a camera upload; not a critical function, I can just open Dropbox every once in a while to begin a camera upload). My last suggestion is to turn off automatic downloads, app suggestions, etc from the App Store.1. From Settings, go to iTunes & App Store2. I turned all of these off. No automatic downloads of music, apps, books, or updates will happen. And Spotlight will use less juice hunting around on the App Store. I left Apps alone; this way the spotlight can still find installed apps on my device. If anybody from Apple is listening, stop the madness!!!! Either spend more energy on getting better batteries to us, or have your UX and engineering teams handle more of this in the background. It's crazy how fast my battery drains without doing these things.

My iPhone 6 has been charging weirdly. It drops the battery even while plugged in and sometimes takes a while to charge. Why is this?

Thanks for your A2A.Why has your iPhone 6 battery been charging weirdly, losing its charge even when plugged in and taking too long to charge? It could be a combination of things. Anything from applications that are power hogs to a bad cable or bad charger, or even the USB source you are using for power isn’t providing enough to increase the charge.First thing to try: Plug it into a wall outlet instead of a computer. Make sure you are using an Apple certified charger and charging cable. If you aren’t using the ones that came with your iPhone, go to an Apple Store or anywhere Apple accessories are sold (Best Buy, Target, etc.) and buy a GENUINE Apple branded charger and/or cable. Another obvious thing to try is to completely shut the phone down for charging. If you do this and it still takes a long time to charge, it is either the cable, the charger (or the device into which you are plugging it for charging), or the iPhone itself.Next, restart your phone.Third, go to Settings -> Battery and scroll down to the Battery Usage section. Tap the Last 7 Days tab. What apps are using the most battery power? If anything has been using more than 25% of the battery consider turning off the background app refresh for that app in Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh. If neither of these things make a difference search the App Store for “Battery” and install one of the higher rated battery management apps. Finally, if all else fails, take your iPhone to an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Retail Center. They have diagnostic tools that can figure out if you have a bad battery.

Is it possible to charge a Macbook Pro's battery faster than usual?

Say that my Macbook Pro has 10% of battery left

Will the Macbook Pro charge until 100% faster if I:

A) Let the Macbook charge without me touching it
B) It won't matter what I do during the charging process

If I play an intense game while charging the Macbook Pro, will the charging speed slow down? As in, normally it would take 4 hours to charge, but if I played a game during the charging process, will it take more than 4 hours?

How long do i charge my macbook?

Its a new macbook pro purchased less than a month ago. How long should i charge it and should i charge only when the battery is fully drained? How long does a mac battery last anyway? For a day i mean. How many hours?

MACBOOK BATTERY QUESTIONS?

im buying a macbook air and i was told whenever you get a new computer the 1st charge is most important you're supposed to drain the battery until the device is completely dead and then you charge the computer 100% then you drain it again...etc.

i was also told you are always supposed to do that and that if you plug in your computer when its half way charged the battery is gonna get completely messed up...is this true?

if youre like a professional computer person...what do you do? what do you recommend? i know that most computers come with 1/2 charge or something
