The difference between PU leather and real leather:See Also: https://www.amazon.com/Bdgiant-U...On the off chance that you are in the market for the new leather wallet, you may have acknowledged at this point you can no longer simply approach the counter and request a wallet.  There are various different sorts of wallets for different purposes. Indeed, even the material they are made can be fuddle. On the off chance that you've been doing some window shopping on Amazon or eBay, you may have experienced the terms PU and veritable leather. The principal warning you ought to be careful about would be the cost. PU leather wallets are for the most part at the lower end of the value range. This is on the grounds that PU leather is effortlessly made contrasted with real leather. While PU leather looks honest about goodness enough now and again at first glance, cautious examination of the rear can influence you to perceive how the "leather" part is quite recently stuck on.  Finally, check the surface of the thing. Real leather may not be 100% smooth since creature skin has common grains and defects. PU leather, then again, are smooth to the touch since they are produced that way. You can likewise check the leather for pores as characteristic and real leather originate from genuine creatures so the pores will be available contrasted with PU leather.

Can you pound/carve a pattern in pleather like you can leather?

No, not really. Pleather is plastic and doesn't hold a pounded design, it simply bounces back into its original shape or it will split apart and be cut from the embossing tools. If you are trying for a relief look -parts of a design stand out from the background you can cut shapes from pleather and glue them on a pleather backing. Place the largest shape first and then glue smaller shapes on top until you get a shape in high relief from the background. This will work for a costume. It will look reasonably good and and you don't need to buy expensive leather.

If you do want to try leather stamping might I suggest checking out a thrift store or charity shop for cheap leather clothes, luggage/purse/whatever? sometimes you can find good leather for cheap and use that to make a costume. When a friend too a leather tooling class they were sent to second hand shops to find leather for practicing on -for a costume an old coat might be perfect.

What is the difference between a male and female leather jacket?

I have a leather female jacket and I was wondering what the difference between a male and a female jacket is. If possible, could I modify the jacket to make it appear male?

What fabric/material should I use to sew my trench coat with?

I am sewing a trench coat and am wondering what type of material to use. Even though the back says to use wool type materials, I am not fond of wool so will use something less thick and lighter. On all my non-wool trench coats the tags say they are made of 100% cotton. What are other material fabrics out there that I can make my trench coat with that is HIGH QUALITY and not wool?

Where can I find sewing patterns for Korean style men's jackets?

Metrosexual websites

Men's winter fashion (Pea coats and v-neck sweaters)?

For question 1. I personally think if you are looking for a sleeker look wearing something light underneath and wearing no beanie/hat then go for the leather gloves and if you are wearing something else underneath, have a large scarf and a beanie/hat then wear the mitts.

For question 2. No you don't need to show your sleeves although you should have your collar out and the ends of the shirt if wanted. I think if you do it may add width to your wrists and where you want the width really is in your shoulders so that would be counter-acting that.

How long does it take to make a lined coat?

You? I have zero information about your sewing skills, speed, available time or complexity of the coat. Couldn't begin to give you an accurate timeframe. A week to possibly never?Me? Probably a week in my spare time if I dedicate most of my “free” time for a lightweight basic coat and at least two weeks for a wool winter coat with lining, interlining and hand bound buttonholes, but that won't tell you anything helpful. Why? You don't really know my sewing skills in general, for lined garments in particular, for coats, for working with whatever materials and pattern I choose, whether the pattern requires alteration prior to cutting, whether I plan to do mainly machine work or will hand hem and do hand buttonholes, etc.If you are trying to second guess the stated time line and price for custom work, don't. Simply get estimates or prices and the training/experience information and references from multiple tailors. Each tailor may have projects in advance of yours and owe them completion under a contract before your work can begin. There are multiple considerations regarding the time/cost for a custom garment from a business some of which have nothing to do with you directly.

How much leather needed to make a jacket?

Q: How much leather [is] needed to make a jacket? As others mentioned, style, size and type of hide all matter. If the jacket is long, it’ll obviously take more. A traditional working western jacket for men might take 35 sq feet provided the hide is cow. Here is a photo of a jacket we used to make, style 11150 (worn by a woman):If you cut this from pig, it could take 40 sqft because the hides are smaller. If cut from lamb (real lamb, not “lamb”), it could easily be 50. Deerskin could be close to the same depending on how the hide was harvested but elk would be a little better, maybe 45 sqft.Another example; this woman’s jacket, style 21245, size M (now a small) would take about 20 sqft if cut in cow. If pig, it might take 22 or so (this is what we used). If you used lamb or goat, it could be about 25.I should also say that these patterns are broken up specifically for the type of hide they were intended to be made of. Lamb jackets require more piecing to use the skins more efficiently. Cow hides are larger so one wouldn’t need to piece front (or back) segments into upper and lower unless the design had certain style lines in it. The particular jacket above (21245) has solid front sections but the side panels are pieced upper and lower; the fringe covers the seaming. The back is cut the same except it also has a finished (not over laid) stylized one point yoke.I made these patterns about 25 years ago; the company went under in the late 90’s and I ended up with these. Still have them hanging on a rack; can’t bear to throw them away, keep hoping someone will want them or they’ll come back in style.

Are there cheap leather jackets (for men) out there?

I'm looking for cheap leather jackets. I don't care really for brand, but I'm looking for quality brown leather jackets for men.

I've been having a really hard time finding quality leather jackets that aren't in the $400-1000 range.

I did find this one though: http://www.leatherup.com/p/Xelement-Mens-Retro-Brown-Bandit-Buffalo-Leather-Cruiser-Motorcycle-Jacket-with-Level-3-Armor/97999.html

According to the reviews, it's a real nice jacket --- but it's not recommended for casual use. I love the style, but I'm concerned it'll be too heavy to be comfortable for casual use. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind heavy jackets, but I mind jackets that are so heavy to a point where it's uncomfortable walking around in them.

Are there jackets like this one in its price range out there? I know there must be. I'll leave it to the pros! (you guys)

Thanks a bunch!
