Many Of My Read Yahoo Emails Are Going Into Spam Folder Automatically. This Is Happening From A

How do I stop getting spam emails and advertisement emails (Yahoo Mail)?

Spam can get to you in different ways and it’s important to know those to avoid spam as much as possible:you subscribed to some online websites that resell your email address to dodgy marketing companies. Note that this is not illegal in many countries if this behaviour is specified in their terms & conditions (we all know that nobody read them, they know too)you subscribed to some online websites but never read their newsletters - due to a lack of interaction with those emails, the spam checker will think that are unwanted emails, therefore it’ll move them into spam.spammers can generate random email addresses to send emails, sometimes they create yours and you get dangerous emails. The spam checker anyway will protect you putting those into the spam folder. Now, for the 3rd point there is nothing that you can do but trust your email service provider (ESP), in this case Yahoo Mail, that is marking an email as spam for you.For the first two points, you can act in this way:If in your inbox and spam folders you find legitimate newsletters that you are not interested in, take your time to go through them and click on the UNSUBSCRIBE link.(Please, use the unsubscribe link and not the spam button for real companies. Sending them to spam would potentially ruin their business as their reputation will get lower, potentially marking their company as dangerous.)Use filters! - Few people know that modern ESPs give you the possibility to automatically filter and organise incoming emails. For Yahoo Mail, enter your settings and find the section FiltersHere, give a name to your filterSpecify the rules (i.e. if you know a specific email address is used to send you spam, write that address in the “From” field)Select the destination for the email (Delete Items if you want to automatically get rid of the incoming spam)Another useful resource is the Yahoo Mail guideline for spam: Manage spam and mailing lists in Yahoo Mail

Why is Yahoo so inept at blocking spam from my Yahoo email account? I get the same “Lonely Married Women” email every day. I understand that the spam email address changes every day, but why can’t Yahoo spam check the subject?

Actually, Yahoo! blocks a ton of spam. We have a team working very hard on this challenge that we all face. Check out this realtime view here: Visualizing Yahoo! Mail (make sure you click on the "reveal blocked spam" button) to see how much spam is being blocked at any moment. We block 4 messages for every 1 message we deliver.Still, you are seeing spam in your inbox which means that some comes though despite our attempts. But you can do things about this too.Remember to set the spam filter on your email client. If you are using the Yahoo! web client go to the Options tab and check to see that you have spam set to be filtered out and deleted. When spam comes though, please mark it as spam. We pick up that signal and it helps improve our algorithms. This way we can block more spam in the future for you and others.General tip -- make sure not to post your email address in full on a web site. I saw a report once that showed how spambots harvest email addresses from blogs and site by searching for "yourname@host.com" pattern but they don't search for "yourname 'at' host.com"  So you can reduce your risk of inviting spam by making this small change. If you get a spam mail, don't click on the links. This sends the signal that you are a real person who clicks on spam. Just delete these emails. I'm sure you don't need the pills anyways.Did you know that Yahoo! also give you disposable email addresses that you could use, say if you are doing online shopping?  This is another way to make sure that your email address is only used by your real friends, and that websites only see addresses you don't care as much about.Maybe these tips will help your emailing experiences. You've been with Yahoo! for 10 years, we hope you enjoy our services for at least 10 more too!

How to keep yahoo from deleting email trash folder?

We have no control over the trash bin, Yahoo empties it at random every few days. The best thing to do in not put things in it, save them to a folder until you are sure you don't want them. Or you can flag it and that will tell you that you are saving it for a reason. We can't get anything back once the trash is emptied.

How do I recover accidentally deleted 5 month old yahoo mail?

How can I stop getting so much spam email?

There are a few things you can be aware of to ensure you're less susceptible to spam (unfortunately, you'll never rid yourself of it completely)...These are taken from an article I published recently titled "Still Getting Spam? 4 Email Mistakes to Avoid Today"...You’re Clicking UnsubscribeYour first instinct is to click the little unsubscribe button that’s hidden at the bottom of your email subscriptions and most spam messages. All it does now is inform the pesky spammer that they’ve found an email address that’s in use. Delighted at his success, the spammer lets the rest of his spammer entourage know about you.Do This Instead: Hit delete or if it’s definitely spam, flag it as such (Report Spam in Gmail, Spam in Yahoo), so your email client knows to filter future emails from that address. You Replied to The SpammerWhen you reply to a spammer asking them to give you a break, you’re doing two things that could slide your inbox into email hell.First – you’re whitelisting the spammer’s email. With that reply, your email provider thinks you know the sender and will have no future problem with new emails.Second – you just informed the spammer’s system of an email address that’s being used. Automatically, your spam levels will rise.Your Friends are CCing You Into MessagesWhen friends or colleagues CC you into messages, every other recipient in the group can see your address. If any of their email accounts are hacked, your email address will be found and harvested, making you more susceptible to spam. You Didn’t Read The Small PrintDisreputable sites (or dishonest employees of those sites) that you sign up to can illegally sell your email address to other companies and spammers. Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do about this, other than only sign up to sites that you trust.

Yahoo mail only shows the most recent 90 emails, but shows 400+ Spam emails. How do i see all my inbox emails?

All email that is currently available in your account is in your folders, or your Inbox. Yahoo! does not automatically archive your content or anything of that nature.

If you are certain you have never deleted or moved any email, but cannot find an email you are sure is there, something may have happened to delete email from your account. Commonly this is indicative of connecting to a phone or other mail client, and configuring it to pull the content from your mailbox but not saving it to our server. It may also be indicative of a security breach.

Since restoring missing emails requires specific information, we have created a special form to gather the required information. Please visit the following Yahoo! Mail page and fill out the required information:

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ym...

Please be advised that there is a very short window of time available for any attempt to restore your emails.

Once we have received your request through the form listed above, we will look for a copy of what your Yahoo! Mail account looked like at a specific point in time just prior to your requested restore time.

We will attempt to find the nearest available snapshot, which may have been taken minutes or possibly even hours prior to the time requested. Your entire mailbox (including your Inbox and other folders) will look exactly like it did at the time the snapshot was taken. Please remember that any emails received after the recovery time will no longer be available.

•Since we are only able to restore your entire mailbox, there are some limitations to what we are able to do when restoring:
1. We cannot restore any specific message(s) or folder(s).

2. We cannot restore any message(s) lost while composing.

3. This process cannot resolve issues that may prevent account access or cause Yahoo! Mail to behave unexpectedly.

4. We cannot undo this restoration or restore messages lost because of this restoration.

•Before requesting a restore, backup any messages sent or received within the last 48 hours that you want to keep. We strongly encourage you to do one of the following:
1. Forward emails to another email account (such as Outlook).

2. Print emails that you want to save.

3. Save emails to your desktop as a text file.

Once the form is completed we will do our best to restore your mailbox.

Does viewing an email send a message to the sender?

In the old Yahoo mail I could check a box and delete an email without viewing it. In beta I have to view an email in the preview pane to allow me to delete it or send it to spam. Does viewing an email in the preview pane allow the sender to get a message that this email has been viewed? This would let them know that they have a real active email. I don't want that to happen.
