Mathematics Book For Jee Advance

Which books should I solve to get 100+ in maths (JEE ADVANCE)?

At first I am giving a general story of most of the IITJEE aspirants. Let, the name of the representative student is Ram.At the beginning of class 11, Ram starts with ncert mathematics textbook. After some suggestions from others he switches to “SK Goyal skills in mathematics” or “Cengage Mathematics”. He finds out that SK Goyal contains all of the ncert concepts in just a few pages at the beginning and after that there are thousands of new new theories, formulas and tricks. Then Ram thinks that the problems came in Jee Advanced are based on those new theories. Ram says : “ ncert toh SK Goyal ka kuch page o me khatam ho jata hai, firse ncert kiu padhe”.Jee Advanced is not like the board exams, in which the problems came from some restricted theories/concepts. Ram thinks, in board exams the problems will be based on the first few pages of SK Goyal and in Jee Advanced the problems will be based on the rest of the ‘advanced’ theories. Though the first assumption is right but not the 2nd one. Meanwhile by reading so much theory he just forget to strengthen his main ncert concepts. In IITJEE the problems are based on different basic concepts ,not the so called ‘advanced' ones.Example -Jee Advanced requires analytical ability and thinking power but not extra advanced theory. You can't solve this type of problems only by reading those. There is no need of S.L Loney or Hall and Knight for Jee Advanced. What to do - Go to the preparation strategy given by Ratnodeep Bain in his answer to the question Do maths questions on the JEE-Advanced go outside NCERT study material? If it does, which books should I read to prepare for that?.

Which is the best book for JEE Advanced for math and chemistry?

Well, I dont know which are the best but i can tell you the ones i used.Maths:For trig and coordinate I used SL Loney.the calculus part is very important to understand properly. I used Tarasov’s Calculus to understand the basics. i didnt read the whole book .Just got an idea of what calculus is all about. Calculus Made Easy is one of the most marvellous books written for a beginner . It helped me to understand that the derivative is nothing but just a small amount of one quantity divided by another small quantity. I solved problems from Calculus in One variable by IA maron and A das gupta. Though i never solved all the ques , u may do so.for algebra i mostly did the materials given by my coaching institute. But some of my friends did Arihant’s books for algebra and coordinate. I did Hall and Knight’s Algebra but i dont think it was too helpful, though the theory is very good there.Chemistry:For physical Chemistry I solved ques from N Avasthi’s problem book. Dont spend too much time solving the level 1 ques as they are repetitive. Do the level 2 questions diligently. For inorganic NCERT is enough if u can identify certain trends and patterns in finding the products when compounds are reacted. Though I had JD Lee but I hardly found any time to read it properly. For organic I used Paula Yurkanis Bruice’s Organic chemistry. It is a book which will give you conceptual clarity about the basic assumptions and thought processes in organic chemistry. Some of my friends used Solomons and Frhyle. Ms chauhan’s a very good book to practice questions from. But in the end remember that it does not matter which books u referred. What matters is how much thinking u have put to understanding clearly.

Are Arihant maths books enough for JEE Main and Advanced?

Its enough. And the JEE MAIN edition book is just fab, i highly recommend Arihant Publications. But if you want some more knowledge i also recommend RD SHARMA (Mathematics for JEE MAIN) there will be two volumes of this book. This book is also extremely good. It would be helpful. But as the exam time is approaching , stay sticked to one book only , otherwise it would create lot of confusion. All the best

Which is the best book to solve problems in maths for the JEE Advanced?

I cracked the Jee Advanced 2015 with AIR5827.I never used both arihant and M.L khanna, even though many of my friends insisted me to get through them. What I did was attended coaching and then in self study I would use cengage Maths series by G Tewani. It has good theory as well as questions.Tewani did a deep research about JEE and the changing trends and then meticulously crafted the book. Its worth reading. You will understand my words when you go through the books.       And side by side,I also used Tata Mc graw Hills Comorehensive Maths. Its highly useful in learning the approach to crack a particular type of problem that JEE loves to ask time and again. It covers lot of examples solved with the best approach. The level and the trick of the problems is JEE concerned.          I love to draw graphs. So I asked my coaching teacher one day that, is there any general approach to any problem via graphical method. He gave a book called Playing with graphs by Amit Agarwaal(Arihant)in my hand. Its possibly the best book till date which deals with graphs so beautifully.Caution:You'll fall in love with graphs.              And finally, good books are those which are deep and intense and are really up to the mark. But every student cant cope up with every book. Some find this book easy, some find that.So ultimately the reader is the one who can decide the best for himself/herself.It's not about how many of them you get through,it's about how many of them get through you.

Are Cengage books good for JEE Advanced?

Yes C-engage books are really good for IIT JEE advanced. But not sufficient to get TOP RANKS!if you want to get rank close to 5000 then C engage is sufficient. Now please understand I am here talking about maths book only.To perform even better you would need extra concepts/problems/ tough ….something more.I have made a list of some study material to fulfill that…1) rank booster questions bank or some fancy title like this by every Coaching Institute of Kota and Delhi and south ( Narayana and Chaitanya). I did at my time brilliant YG file and FIITJEE's GMP. Both had really tough questions. Take advice from your teacher about this because when you bring up doubts from them they will be helping you.2) test papers ( at centres) or distance learning test papers ( at home under exam Conditions) of various coaching institutes. I did at my time FIITJEE'S RTPF and FIITJEE open…CURRENTLY I would recommend to join ALLEN OR RESONANCE Test series.3) mock papers immediately before the IIT JEE advanced paper of reputed coaching institutes like Allen Resonance Vibrant are very helpful. You should also go through the study material of Chaina batch of south which I hold in High esteem!4) institutes also release their question bank of tough questions on JEE advanced…( please take advice of teachers regarding this). My first recommendation would be that take your own coaching institutions material. Then go for any more material/questions.Best regards.
