Math homework, help please?

A toy rocket heads due north at 8 mi/h relative to the air. It experiences a 4 mi/h crosswind flowing in the direction N 60degrees E. Express the velocity v of the rocket relative to the air and the velocity u of the wind, in component form. Find the true velocity of the rocket as a vector? What is the true speed of the rocket?

N 60degrees E This means the direction is 60˚ east of north. In physics, we usually measure angles counter clockwise from the positive x axis. The x axis is east. This angle is 30˚ counter clockwise from the positive x axis. The first step is to calculate the north and east components of the wind’s velocity.

North = 4 * sin 30 = 2 mi/h
East = 4 * cos 60 = 2 * √3
This is approximately 3.46 mi/h

Let’s add the north velocities.
North = 8 + 2 = 10 mi/h

Speed = √(10^2 + 12) = √112

This is approximately 10.6 km/h. To determine the angle north of east, use the following equation.

Tan θ = North ÷ East
Tan θ = 10 ÷ (2 * √3)

The angle is approximately 71˚ North of east or approximately 19˚ East of north. I hope this is helpful for you.

PLEASE HELP!....I need help with this homework question in math..please oh please?

ok this is one tough math problem...
you work for a construction company that gives job foremen cellular phones to communicate with the head office from job sites.Your boss asks you to examine the cellular service your company recieves.The cellualr company your firm uses has cellular service with a monthly charge for each phone and a charge of $.15 per minute.You can't find any statement about the monthly fee,but you did find last month's bill for one of the phones,125 minutes worth of calls and a total charge of $38.75.
1)What is the monthly fee(without talking time)? explain how you found your answer....HELP ME!

Math Homework Help PLEASE!!!!! I'm desperate!?

Sure!

For the word problems:

1.) all you need to do is subtract 24 from 84. (84-24=x) (x=answer).

2.) 1170 (miles) divided by 9 (days). Just divide 1170 by 9!

For the distributive property, you take the number outside of the parentasis, and multiply each number inside the parantasis by that number.

For example:
3(9+6)=

You would take 3, then multiply 3 by 9.
Then, you would take 3 again and multiply 3 by 6.
The math sign between the 9 and 6 (+) would stay the same.
The final equasion would be: 27+18.
All you do is multiply the number outside the parentasis by each of the numbers inside the parentasis, leaving the sign in between the numbers inside the parentasis the same.

Good luck! Hope I helped!

HELP! MATH HOMEWORK! WORD PROBLEM!!ASAP!!?

Lettuce heads- a
Pound of tomato-b

2a+3b equals $2.85
3a+2b equals $2.90

We want to get 5a+5b. I'll say why later.

2a+3b+3a+2b equals 5a+5b conveniently.

So therefore, 5a+5b = $2.85+$2.90 which equals $5.75.

But now, we have to get 5a+5b into a+b. To do this, we have to divide 5a+5b by five, which also means dividing $5.75.

$5.75 divided by 5 is $1.15.

Therefore, a+b is $1.15

Your answer is $1.15.

(Each pound of lettuce costs 60c and each pound of tomatoes costs 55c)
