Me And My Boss Are Not Getting Along At All. I Don

I don't get along with my boss. I'm worried that it's because he's black and I'm white. What should I do?

Well i'm from India. So i can answer without any bias towards either white or black people.I would like to ask a question here, if the part about him being a African American was removed, would the same description describe a person with whome anybody would want to work? A boss who continuosly belittles our efforts, who doesnt appreciate us or our work, who is arrogant and so high handed that he has the guts to humiliate others in front a group. Nobody would enjoy working under such a person.Look, i'm from a completely different place, culture and all. I have no idea about the black-white dynamics. But what you have described is not a bad "black person" its just a bad human being. I dont know why, but it seems to me that there is a tendency in white americans to feel racist even if what they are feeling is perfectly logical emotion towards a black person. Everything you feel does not originate from the colour of that person's skin. His work ethic, his behaviour, his interaction with his colleagues, everythin contributes towards that. And from the description you have given of that guy, i sure as hell wouldnt like to be working under him.Also, a teacher who himself says that he has learned not to trust kids cannot and should not be in a position to influence there growth and upbringing.

Should I ask my boss to fire a coworker who I do not get along with? My company needs me more than him and I don't get along with him.

Unless this person is your sub-bordinate, asking your boss to fire him without any other reason than you “"don't get along” is not going to work in your favor. First of all, nobody is indispensable on the job. Your company doesn't need you anymore than they need him. Don't lie to yourself, and think you yourself cannot be replaced in a heart beat. Secondly, there are always going to be people that you don't get along with in life. You're going to have to choose your battles wisely, and just learn to deal with difficult people. It's not fair to your compant for to expect them to fire someone based on your inability to get along with that person. Maybe this co-worker has things going on in their life that you are clueless about. Maybe those problems are making this co-worker edgy or difficult to get along with. Now, if everyone else at your company is also not getting along with this co-worker, you might have some legitimate point, and then an employee meeting is in order. But, if it's just you personally that does not get along with this co-worker, well I hate to be the one to tell you but, destroying someone's livlihood or firing them from a job that they need like everyone else on the planet because you have a personality conflict just isn't reasonable or responsible.

Is getting along with coworkers important? and why?

Just to help on cutting the stress level down at the office. I do not necessarily get along with all my co-workers...i tolerate them

I have a problem with getting along with my new manager at work?

I have a manager that has been with the store that i work for,for about two or three weeks now.I tried to call in sick one day last week,but I had to go in to work,sick,The next day I did call in sick,from what I've heard my manager didn't like that he thought I was trying to get out of not working.I have been working at my job for nine years.I haven't called in sick for almost four years.Today,he had me take a very late break,and then only twenty minutes later,he had me take my lunch.I get along with the store directore,and the other managers,just not him so much.I don't want to feel like i'm complaining about another person.I feel like I don't belong there after today,I want to get another job,waht do you think I should do.?

Why do scorpio and gemini not get along?

scoprios dont like or trust anybody at first which is why we dont make many friends. we only mesh with those that are interesting to us.

I'm unable to get along with my team lead, should I tell my boss that I can’t work with this lead?

Only if you have tried everything that you can to get on with your leader and assessed the situation with your coworkers. If you are perceived by many as difficult or if you are the only one that is having this problem then taking this to the boss will be career suicide.How is your self-awareness? How about your talent? In very few cases companies will put up with someone who brings something extraordinary to the team being difficult.If you have any doubts about this then the answer is simple. Try harder. View it as learning people skills and a vital part of your personal development. In the long run if you overcome working with this difficult team leader it could be the best thing to happen to you.

Do you actually get along with your co workers ?

This question is mostly directed at people who are working at a low paying job and that's not what they want their actual career to be. Do you actually get along with the people you work with? I get paid $2 more an hour than my other college friends who are working shitty jobs like me, which is why I don't wanna quit. But I actually dislike almost everyone I work with. My boss is psychotic there's not much to say about her, our admin is always so grumpy and rude and hasn't even bothered to learn our names, the supervisor spread some rumour about how my extended sick leave was actually for plastic surgery, and one girl always calls in sick so the rest of us have to work more hard to cover her a$$. Everyone else is absolutely useless except these 2 girls who are actually normal and act professional

What would you do if you did not get along with a coworker and your boss asked you to work on a project together?

This has happened to me. My boss knew that I could not stand a certain colleague Anthony. It had nothing to do with his personality which was sparkling, and more to do with his work attitude which was entitled. He was good at feigning ignorance. When the project reached crunch-time, he would look helpless and, because there would be no time to lose, some victim would do his job just to push things along. My boss was very aware that I did not like his attitude and how he did his best to convert my staff to his brand of working style (skiving, urgent leave, sudden medical emergencies and general lacklustre work quality).Most of the time, I was spared from working with Anthony as our job scope rarely overlapped. When there was a team project, we did defensive manoeuvering to minimize the impact of his lousy work. I tried to be professional when I worked with him, I really did, but it was difficult. Anthony had a bad habit of disappearing from his post at events because he wanted to be elsewhere, i.e., nearer the VIPs. And he felt that post-event clearing-up was beneath him, so he would skive off. Sometimes he would hide somewhere for a nap, or pretend to be very busy talking to someone, or occasionally, if the event had alcohol, he would try his best to get drunk. The boss was aware of his behaviour but even though she counselled him, and we brought up matters as non-confrontationally as possible during post-mortems, he would just put on an innocent face and make excuses.What did I do? I made sure that I did all my work well, and I made very sure that he could not use me as a scapegoat for any of his nonsense.
