Meals Before And After Gym

Should you eat a big meal before going to the gym?

Definitely not…..and this is from experienceShoving a bunch of food down your throat only prompts lots of stomach drama with acids, blood flow and other actions involved in the digestion process…..then you plan to hit the gym, work weights, do cardio and tax your body with that task while it’s trying to work down that huge meal.So no, heck no and hell no……..do NOT eat that big meal. If anything you could hit a protein shake, have some fresh fruit or a simple meal that won’t fill you up, slow you down or create a bunch of digestive drama. In all reality, I don’t even like to eat…I go in with an empty stomach and allow my body to entirely focus on the workout. At first you’ll psychologically tell yourself that you didn’t eat anything and NEED to eat but that’s just not true! Think about it, can you imagine not eating for a few hours and suddenly, like a dead battery, you just keel over and pass out? Of course not, for thousands of years humans often had to go days between meals. The food in your stomach just gives you that energy as it’s digested but our energy storage is far more advanced and we’re just used to relying on ‘energy by immediate supply’Let me be clear about this: I stop eating at 8pm and the next day I hit the gym…..I do 45 minutes of weights followed by 1.5 hours of spin class and then I swim a mile in the pool and then I don’t eat until 2pm: it’s fine, no problem. Many will suggest that you need to eat protein and calories within 2–3 hours post workout, that’s fine if you’re not trying to lose weight. And there’s your answer you can take to the bank (implying that I’m right about this)

Eat Breakfast Before Or After Gym?

I get up at 5:45am Every Morning, and make my way to the local gym which opens at 6:30am. So now that i have got that clear, i am stuck with one thing, i don't know whether to eat breakfast before or after the gym, i do cardio for 1 hour each time. what i was thinking was maybe have a fruit before, then my normal breakfast when i get back??, or if not can you give me some ideas please !! thanks:)

Should i eat before or after the gym??

You should eat after you go to the gym. That way you will burn stored calories and not only the ones you just ate. I forget the exact numbers but you burn like 200% more calories if you work out on an empty stomache. I think it is actually even more.

Is it better to eat a meal before or after exercise?

You should always, always, ALWAYS eat within on hour of exercise, because this is when you body most needs protein, complex carbs, nutrients, and antioxidants to restore muscle glycogen and repair the damage you did at the gym.

But you should also have some kind of healthy snack an hour or so before lifting weights. Some cardio can be done on an empty stomach, for instance, jogging first thing in the morning, but there's no real benefit to doing this. The adage is that "fat burns in the carbohydrate flame," so focus on working out efficiently. It's nearly impossible to perform at your best if you've been fasting.

Carbs in Meal before workout?

good job! finally someone with enough sense to eat before they weight train in the morning.

how many carbs you need really depends on how long your training session is going to last. you don't wan to perform high intensity exercise for longer than 1.5 hours or the levels of catabolic hormones will increase drastically.

you really want to ingest at least 5 grams of carbs for every set that you are going to perform.

I would also 86 the protein bar after working out for some whey protein and fat free milk. whey protein is far cheaper per serving and will supply a lot more bioavailable protein for recovery.

another thing you should do is to try to eat at least a snack 1 hr after your post workout shake. since you are young and in school I would suggest taking something easy to make and carry like a PB and jelly sandwich. that should hold you over until lunch.

Should i eat a big meal before or after a workout?

i know people who have great bodies and they binge before a workout (they wait for about two ours before actually working out) but i prefer to eat a big meal after because i'm afraid that i might vomit if i eat before because i do a lot of ab toning work outs... so... which is best?

What diet should I follow before and after gym workouts to lose weight?

An overall diet that allows you to eat at a calorie deficit. To lose weight all you need is to eat at a calorie deficit. Calorie in less than calorie out means weight loss. You can eat all healthy foods before and after gym workouts but if you eat too many calories, then your gym workouts will be wasted. To learn more, If you want some meal ideas before and after workout:Pre workout you can try a balanced shake with whey protein, healthy fat (avocado or peanut butter), banana or other fruits. Post workout you can try a high protein and high carb meal with some chicken breast or other lean protein and some potatoes, brown rice, or other complex carbs. Hopefully this helps but you just need to eat at a calorie deficit.

What is a good diet before and after gym to gain weight? I weigh 66kg.

Well to gain weight you need to be in a calorie surplus which means you have to eat greater number of calories than what you burn. To answer your question a pre workout meal should be a combination of protein and carbohydrates as carbohydrates are our body’s primary source of energy.Post your workout should immediately follow by a fast absorption food source such as whey protein as our muscles have gone through wear and tear and they need to be repaired. A post workout meal 45 - 60 min after exercise should again comprise of protein and carbohydrates to replenish the lost glycogen from our muscles.RegardsNihal KhanIntern at Getsetgo.fitness
