Medicines To Be Taken For Curing Mirgi

What is the best cure and best hospital for epilepsy in India?

Hi,Epilepsy is a neurological disease that is marked by seizures. The span of these seizures can range from a few seconds to several hours. The prolonged seizures cause other medical problems as well, such as broken bones.Till now the cause of epilepsy is not known. It can be hereditary if someone in the family experiences the same or congenital. The seizures can be defined as excessive synchronous neuronal activity in the brain. There are several medications and surgical procedures to prevent or at least control the epileptic fits in the patient. Anti-epileptic medicines are used to cure the seizures. Now the problem with these medicines is that they have a lot of side effects. So, while consulting your doctor the trick is to find the best anti-epileptic medication that has the least side effects.Surgical options are there for epilepsy. But a surgery is only performed when medications cease to provide results. There are two types of surgical treatment for epilepsy:The first one is known as resection, that is, cutting away the area of the brain causing the seizures, specifically, a part of the temporal lobe. This surgical procedure is more commonly known as temporal lobectomy.Interrupting or blocking the nerve pathways that permits seizures to spread is another, though less common, way to surgically treat epilepsy. Multiple subpial transections is one such method. But the problem with this procedure is that it provides relief but not a cure.Recommended: Best Doctors for Epilepsy Treatment in IndiaThe best hospitals for epilepsy in India are:Medanta - the Medicity, GurgaonJaslok Hospital, MumbaiNew Age Wockhardt Hospital, MumbaiFortis Memorial Research Institute, GurgaonIndraprastha Apollo Hospital, New DelhiManipal Hospital, BengaluruGlobal Hospital, HyderabadArtemis Hospital, GurgaonAster Medcity, KochiNarayana Multispecialty Hospital, BengaluruHope this answer helps you. Thanks

Is there any medicine in Ayurveda for treatment of epilepsy?

There is no permanent cure for epilepsy. All you can do is to make your nervous system strong and develop natural immunity to the excitation of nerve cells. Ayurveda ingredients such as: Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Shankhpushpi etc. help establishing the latter part. I’m taking Divya Medha Vati after taking inputs from my neurologist (who has prescribed me allopathic medicines also). Do got through some research papers mentioning ayurveda, yoga and epilepsy at National Institutes of Health (NIH)Hope that helps.

Does brahmi cure epilepsy?

No. The only scientifically proven cure for epilepsy is brain surgery. A few red flags here:No scientific evidence provided. Claims based on anecdotal evidence. When something claims to cure multiple problems which are not inter related, it's most likely not true. Epilepsy has a complex mechanism with several types of molecular channels in action. To simply claim that a compound acts on a all of them, and then some out side the brain and other organs is simply not possible. If this claim was true, someone would be making millions out of this by selling it.

Is epilepsy curable?

Epilepsy Fast FactsEpilepsy is a chronic neurological condition characterized by recurrent seizures. There are many types of seizures and their symptoms can vary from a momentary disruption of the senses, to short periods of unconsciousness or staring spells, to convulsions.Epilepsy can be described as a spectrum disorder because of its different causes, different seizure types, its range of co-existing conditions, and because the disorder can vary in severity and impact from person to person.Epilepsy can be caused by many different conditions that affect a person’s brain (e.g., stroke, brain tumor, central nervous system infection, head injury). Often no definite cause can be found. Epilepsy cannot be transmitted from person to person.Epilepsy affects about 2.3 million adults and 467,711 children 0-17 years of age in the United States.About 1 in 26 people will be diagnosed with epilepsy at some point in their lives.3About 150,000 new cases of epilepsy will be diagnosed in the United States each year.3Epilepsy results in an estimated annual cost of $15.5 billion in medical costs and lost or reduced earnings and production. It's definitely manageable via medications. My uncle had epilepsy. And his fits took quite a toll on his health and the people around him. But when he went regularly to the doctor for his check ups, took the medication on time and maintains a healthy diet , he's doing quite well. He rides his cycle for about 10-15 miles daily. I think there isn't proper awareness about epilepsy, specially in rural areas in a country like India.  it is important to understand what should be done at the time of seizures. WHAT SHOULD BE DONE IN CASE OF SEIZURE * Stay calm and do not panic to take control of the situation * Make space for the patient to lie down * Turn the person to his/her side so that fluid from the mouth can safely flow out * Do not force anything in the patient's mouth or hand * Let the person rest for some time after the seizure * Call the doctor if seizure lasts more than 10 minutes More reading at : Epilepsy Facts & FAQ'sDivision of Population HealthAbout Epilepsy: What is Epilepsy

Which treatment is better for epilepsy: allopathy, Ayurveda, or homeopathy?

In my opinion, Homeopathy is best. But we need to be little precise in the sense that we need to follow Single remedy system of Homeopathy, which is law of cure. Then the diagnosis has to be carefully made. As i have explained earlier, I got a patient, she was being treated for epilepsy, wrongly diagnosed. The attack of epilepsy is preceded by Aura, some kind of sensation. Although there may be few cases (rare) with Aura absent. Now there could be various cause for it. And we need to find the root cause. The Single remedy system of Homeopathy successfully removes/eliminates the cause and offers disease free life. The system will cure all other sufferings as well along with epilepsy. It will be worth to note that this system is rarely followed and thereby you need to search for it and find it.Read—htysolution.blogspot.com,htyremedies.blogspot.com

Is there an actual cure for epilepsy?

Curing epilepsy.Last time the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) defined the disease and its consequences in 2014(1), it did not deal with cure. Why is that?Because this is a kind of disease with a sort of unpredictability. Some cases remain seizure free for years on a row, without medication, just to somehow relapse out of the blue. Most cases are treated without us being able to identify and resolve or remove a single one reason for seizures.Having said that, Epilepsy can be seen nowadays as a chronic condition not so different from Hypertension or Diabetes. The vast majority of patients can achieve a good control of seizures and keep a good quality of life. Some will even stay seizure free for sufficient years so that it’s possible to stop medication use. And fortunately, with adequate weaning of medications, some patients will remain seizure free. Thing is, when we are deciding to continue or not with treatment, there is no sure way to know. Sure, for each kind of seizure, age and patient characteristics, we can reasobably predict which will fare better.I have some patients that, after discussing pros and cons, we have decided to keep treatment, in spite of being able to stop it. Just because sometimes the safety provided by the medications surpass the need of being med free. Usually in those cases side effects are very negligible. This is very fortunate, we have lots of options and it's possible to tailor treatment with individual needs. Finally, some cases are less responsive and may be candidates to surgery. What I usually have to emphasize to patients is that we do not expect it to be a miracle cure, but it allows us to tapper down medication and improve overall treatment. So, conceptionally, do not expect a cure, but epilepsy may be considered resolved. Even if the patient does not achieve seizure free status, yes, we can control epilepsy better than ever!Thank you, @Paul Carter for the A2A.(1)International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) Definition of Epilepsy, 2014. Which treatment is best for epilepsy - homeopathy or allopathy?

Neither!! My god, what are you thinking???Homeopathy is medication made of WATER! Allopathy is treating medical problems with the opposite of what they are.Neither of these are any kind of actual medication! If they were actually tested and worked, then they would be available at hospitals, and doctors would be regularly prescribing them, but they don't!It's fine if you want something for small problems, something like you want better sleep or your breath smells, but if it's something like epilepsy, neither of those will do anything to help you!Go and see a real doctor, and get prescribed some real medication, like tegrotol, if you use these water medications, it is not going to help you, and your epilepsy is only going to get worse!
