How do members only jackets fit?
If your talking about vintage ones from the 80's they fit very "fitted".Not tight not loose if you get the correct size.They just fit your body correctly. I found a clean white one looks brand new from salvation army.Got it for 5 bucks that a steal right there since the vintage stores charge mega bucks for em.

A long time ago my mom gave me a "Members only" jacket that belonged to my grand dad. The size on the tag says "46" I'm guessing that's the shoulder width? Anyways it's like a beige color and is about 4 sizes too big for me. I was wondering if there's anyway to shrink it down some? The outer shell is 65% polyester and 35% cotton It also has an inner lining that is all nylon

Nowadays people are selling PU leather jackets in name of leather jacket and it is very difficult to make difference between pure leather jackets and PU leather jacket.I did some research and found on quora about www.leatherclue.com. People had written very good reviews about this website , so I thought to take a risk and ordered a leather jacket. After placing the order the leatherclue guy called me for measurements details for best fitting. As I had ordered M size but they asked me some size details about my body. I provided them and then they asked any design or color changes. I asked some design changes as they said that they don't charge any extra amount for any customization. So I gave some design changes. They called me twice to verify everything which increased my confidence on this website.After 9 days I got the jacket. I had not aspected lots but had some good aspectations as their response. When I opened the parcel box I really got impressed by jacket looks and finishing. Leather was also very soft and as they had said that it will be sheep leather. I rechecked with my friends and the leather was 100% pure sheep leather.I surely recommend this site if you are looking to but a leather jacket.You guys are doing great job.Cheer's
When you buy a jacket, should you buy it in a larger size?
Depends on how you want it to fit. The style with some jackets is to fit short and tight..most women's styles anyway. Remember when buying a jacket you wear it over other clothes. So buying a little larger can't hurt either.
Is it possible to tailor/alter a members only jacket to be smaller?
Yes, it is possible to alter a jacket by 1 inch maximum without changing the fit drastically. You can make a medium into a small but not a large into a small. Usually the jackets are graded one inch per size so sleeves are 1 inch longer for the next size up, and so is the neck opening, shoulders, waist etc.
Is it possible for a tailor to make a zip up jacket smaller?
It really depends on how much smaller you want to make it. There is such a thing as proportions. you can reduce something a bit- maybe a size smaller, but when you want to make it 2 -3-4 sizes smaller, then no. The proportions would be way off and the garment would look really odd. If you like the jacket that much, look into finding it at a different store, in your size. You could ask the store if they could check with their other locations and find the size you need. Besides, it would cost you less to find the size you need than to have one altered. Good Luck.
