In the movie GATTACA, what are the 3 major themes the movie addresses?

1) A person can achieve their goals through hard work and determination. The big illusion in Gattaca is that only those people who have been genetically engineered to be "valids" are able to excel in life, i.e., be astronauts, for example. Vincent Freeman proves this illusion to be false.

2) The very fabric of society is at risk if we resort to genetic manipulation in order to make the "perfect" human being. Ever since the decryption of the human genetic code, a burst of new research in the field of genetics has occurred, and certainly, as our ability to manipulate our DNA increases, so too will the debate over designer babies escalate. GATTACA is a capitalist dystopia. In many ways it could be a utopian world: most people are genetically engineered to be born with no diseases, no afflictions, or tendencies towards disabilities.

3) In one scene, Vincent states that “there is no gene for fate.” Much of this film deals with the human desire to control fate, versus the willingness to let fate run its course.

Why is the Terminator 2 theme song so memorable?

A2A First of all, I couldn’t remember it even though I have seen the film at least twice. So I listened to two different mixes/versions of the song. And even thought I just heard it and it is fresh in my mind, I can hardly remember it.I can play more than 3,000 songs (at least) from memory. I can hardly remember the first part of this theme. I do remember it was pretty heavy with percussion. So for me, it is not memorableMemorable is a very personal thing, much like taste. If this theme is memorable to you, then is it because you first heard it on a first date with a wonderful lady? What there something special or even horrid going on in your life at the time? So, for me… I have to say that it is not memorable. It would have been easier for me to answer Why is the Terminator 2 theme song so unmemorable?

What is the best movie theme of all time in your opinion?

This is a tough question, I love movie OST’s and there are a lot of them which are my favorites. I almost answered with one choice and then another popped in my mind. So I will mention a few and will try to name one as best :) . I almost typed in the The DaVinci Code “Chevalier De Sangrealthis music was just perfect for the situation, it made us feel like a really big secret was being revealed, and like it touched the crescendo, so did the knots of story were untied. I am big fan of Hans Zimmer and he had given other amazing themes too like Time in inception , and Injection in mission Impossible 2, might be only good thing which mission Impossible 2 had :).Without naming too many I feel like I know which one I want to name as best today .This :Stranger’s theme from Blood simple by Coen Brothers. This theme was as haunting and as beautiful as the movie itself, a pure work of genius. It brought out the right emotions for movie, I can just listen to it for hours and hours. I will choose this as best theme today, but there are lots and lots of great themes and I don’t really want to compare and pick one as best .

"Unbreakable" movie question with conflict and theme?

The theme of the movie is not about good and evil, it's about Samual L Jackson's character being so fragile and is looking for someone who is strong in the shape of Bruce Willis's character. So it's more about yin/yang, that Samual L Jackson is looking for his complete opposite, as Bruce Willis is unbreakable!!!
