Memory Card Is Corrupt What To Do Wii

Gamecube Memory Card Corrupt?

Hey guys. My GC memory card is corrupt and the Wii says it needs to be formatted.

I heard somewhere that you could temporarily fix it by putting it in a bag and then putting it in the freezer for about a half hour to an hour. Is this true? Is there any other way to fix it or at least get it working temporarily so I can save some of the files?

What causes a Gamecube black memory card to get corrupted?

Over a year ago my official Nintendo Gamecube black memory card got corrupted, and I had to format it to get it to work again, with all my memory deleted. I've heard some people say that changing it from the Wii to Gamecube can cause it to corrupt, but I don't see how it makes sense.

How do I get more memory? I get error code 241000. My Wii will not do flash games due to not enough memory.?

buy at least a one gig SD card, any brand will work, you can save any of your games, pics, music and whatever else on the SD card, it goes under the hood where the SYNC button is

Wii memory card problems ?

I wanted to play Luigi's Mansion on my wii. That works fine. At first, I didn't have a gamecube memory card, so I couldn't save. So I ordered one. But it still won't let me save. When I first put it in, the console said that the memory card needed to be formatted, so I said "sure," and then it said the memory card may not have been formatted. So I decided to try to save to it regardless, but the game says the object inserted in slot A (the gamecube memory card) can't be used. Ideas?

GameCube memory card won't format on Wii?

For the past week, I've been gathering GameCube stuff so that I could play Twilight Princess on the Wii. So, because I didn't own a memory card, I had to order one from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Block-Memory-compatible-Wii-Gamecube-Nintendo/dp/9861019731/ref=sr_1_cc_2?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1389850607&sr=1-2-catcorr&keywords=64+memory+card+gamecube) It's a DragonCube 64MB card with 1019 blocks of space. When I finally plugged everything in, and loaded Twilight Princess, the game immediately prompted me after I pressed START that the memory card was corrupted, and offered to format it. I clicked "Yes" since I didn't have any saves to lose. i did find it kind of peculiar that a brand new, empty card would corrupt so fast, though. After the card had formatted, the game asked if I wanted to create a save file. When I clicked "Yes" again, it went through the normal saving thing and then finally said "Save file created." However, immediately after that box had gone away, the game prompted me, again, to create a save file. It kept going on like this in an infinite loop, so I kinda got pissed because it WAS a new card. So I checked the card in the Wii's data management menu, and it, again, told me the card was corrupt. So I formatted again, and finally it said "Memory card formatted" and it showed me the boxes. After this I was like "Cool! I guess all I had to do was format it through the Wii instead of the game!" I thought I was good to go. Nope. Infinite loop again. Apparently, the card is corrupting IMMEDIATELY after I format it. I don't know why, and I just want to know how to fix it. I really REALLY wish to avoid purchasing a new memory card. I've tried everything. Blowing on the slot and the card. Pushing it in all the way. Halp?

My Game cube memory card not working on my wii?

As others have said, it might be due to a corrupted memory card. Or one that the Wii simply doesn't support.

If you have saved data on it and it just isn't supported by the Wii, a possible solution is buying an official Nintendo Gamecube memory card, and using a Gamecube and copying the data over to the official card.

However, this will require you to have a Gamecube or know a friend that still has one. And if the memory card is corrupted there is the chance that it won't even work on a Gamecube.

How would you fix sd card or slot in a wii?

Well first of all the problem might not be with the slot itself, it might be with the thing you put in it. You really have to pay attention to the error message. Did it look like this?

"The device inserted in the SD Card Slot cannot be used."

If so, here's what you can do to fix it:

1) Go back to the Wii menu, and turn the power OFF on the Wii console.

2) Remove the SD or SDHC Card and check the SD Card label to verify that it has the SD or SDHC logo.

3) Try the card in another compatible device, such as a digital camera or cell phone.

4) If it works in another device, re-insert the card into the SD Card slot on the Wii console and power the console back ON.

5) Go back into the SD Card Menu.

If the steps above do not help, try another SD Card. If you receive this error with more than one SD Card, your Wii console may need to be repaired. Please call 1-800-255-3700 for assistance.

The problem might also be with compatibility. Your Wii has to have the Wii Menu 4.0 and above to read SD cards with more than 2GB. To check what version of the Wii Menu you have:

1) Click the "Wii" icon on the main menu
2) Select "Wii Settings"

The version of the Wii Menu will be displayed in the top-right corner. If it is below 4.0, and your SD card has more than 2GB capacity, you will need to update your Wii.

Good luck!
