Mental Health Issues I

What are some issues in mental health?

Lack of local mental health hospitals.

Lack of local MHMR (Mental Health Mental Retardation) facilities and funding for those facilities.

Inability to force a patient into treatment unless suicidal, homicidal or actively psychotic and then sometimes for only 3-5 days for acute stabilization.

Adult involuntary patients typically only obtain treatment if placed on Emergency Detention Warrant, Police Officers Warrant or Order of Protective Custody.

Adult involuntary patients can not be signed into inpatient facilities by family members and if the family member wants to be able to sign a patient in they need to have a Judge declare the patient adjudicated incompetant and name a guardian for psychiatric treatment.

Mental health patients who have a psychiatric diagnosis and take prescribed, unprescribed or street drugs to self medicate. Some choose to do this when they can not afford their medications.

Patients seen different dates by different psychiatrists and end up with different diagnosis.

Lack of long term mental health hospitals.

Patients attempting to use the mental health system to acquire a mental health diagnosis that will enable them to get Social Security (SSI).

Occasional inability to determine if the person is suffering from a psychiatric condition or is a criminal attempting to act like they need psychiatric help.

Children using this as a way to manipulate adults.

Adults using this to attempt to manipulate others.

And the list goes on and on and on..... Hope to hear this helped in some way. This Spellcheck is having problems so I apologize for any typeooooo's

Do liberals have more mental health issues?

No. Statistically speaking, they have about the same.“Liberals”, however, tend to be educated and smart enough to seek help and are more open. They are less likely to try to pretend things are fine, bottle up emotions, and later have outbursts. Particularly violent outbursts.“Liberals” also would like to lift the stigmas that some conservatives continue to perpetuate, because those are killing people, very often conservatives. “Liberals” would like for people to get help and get better, no matter what they believe.President Ronald Reagan, in denial about his own family, did the entire nation a disservice in dismantling the mental health care system.

Should one keep mental health issues secret?

Thank you for asking as the question wanders many minds. It is a question, which bothers a considerable proportion of the population, although this should not be a question at all. For example, do we keep our physical ailment or heart surgery a secret? Certainly not. Similarly, conversing about mental health issues should not be an embarrassment.Unfortunately, discussing general health issues is acceptable, while confessing to mental health issues becomes a shame. The origin of such a notion lies in the stigmas and misconceptions attached to mental health conditions since ages. Ancient beliefs such as demonic possession, sorcery, unfruitful uterus getting discontent and angry, moon’s gravitational force, etc. were thought to cause mental illnesses. However, medical science, today, have grown beyond these beliefs to understand the causes of such mental problems. Realizing that mental illness is mainly caused by an imbalance in the brain chemistry, doctors and scientists have developed different psychotherapies and pharmacological treatments to treat such problems. It is true that irrespective of era or age, civilizations have always stigmatized mental health conditions and marginalized the sufferers. Sadly, the situation has hardly changed until date in spite of the progress made by the medical fraternity. Probably targeted campaigns that are being taken by government and institutions alike may help in changing the mindset for a greater good.Sharing mental health concerns is equally important like physical ailments, as both needs treatment for a cure. Until an individual shares his/her concern, or visit a medical practitioner, mental conditions cannot be treated. If left untreated, such problems can escalate quickly, making it impossible for an individual to function normally in life. Therefore, it always better to talk it out than to sit on it and suffer. After all, hiding one’s mental health concerns will certainly cause more harm than good.We know it is not easy to open up about hushed topic, however, if you feel the need to share, discuss or have any further query, you are most welcome to talk to us. Drop in your concern or your details and our team will connect with you as soon as possible.
