Messed money order address up?
I purchased a moneygram money order today and on the money order i accidently messed the address up. So i scribbled it out and wrote my address next to it. The "pay to the order of" and my signature are both correct. Id assume my address isnt really that important being Im sending the money order to a company. Can I still send the money order and have the company be able to successfully recieve the money? thanks

So, I received my first parking ticket yesterday and got a money order to pay for it. I placed my name, the college that gets the money, and the college's address....oops, I was supposed to place MY address but I wasn't thinking. Will it make a difference? Can they still use it or do I need to get a new one?

Do not white out. Simply draw a single line through your error(do not try to scribble it out) and rewrite above or beside. the error should be legible and obvious it was a mistake. this is a legally accepted practice. courtesy blackworxinc.com
Whats the best way to fix a messed up money order?
If you filled it out wrong by addressing it to yourself you can just cash it and then get a new one. Technically you could just sign it and reorder it to another person if it's an order instrument ("pay to the order of"), but sometimes banks are picky once you start doing that. Your best bet is to take it to your bank, explain what you did and then have them issue you a new one after you cash that one.

I accidentally messed up on a money order and I need help?
I put the company whom I am sending the order to's address instead of my address. So I used white out to erase the address and fill mine in. Will this be accepted or do I need to go get a refund, and get a new money order?

A2ATake it back where you purchased it. This is your only option if you have already filled in the payee's name.If you have not filled out the payee's name, make it payable to yourself and deposit it into your bank account. They have to accept it for deposit, subject to the usual clearance rules.
