Messenger Sometimes Doesn

Why Facebook Messenger mobile app sometimes it doesn't tell me when friends were last online?

Sometimes it shows you when friends were last online. i.e. Online Now, Active 2 min. ago, Active 5 hrs. ago.

Sometimes it doesn't show anything. Sometimes show the info by a moment and disappear. Is there a time cut-off?

Why does Messenger sometimes show the last time that someone was active, and other times not?

It does if it was within the last hour. After that, the time drops off of the new Messenger update. Another reason why it will not show a last time is that the person has logged out of Facebook and Messenger on all their devices and so (theoretically, because I think FB tracks us all regardless of our settings) your time is not monitored.

What does it mean on Messenger, under the person’s name "messenger" instead of “last time active”?

It could be one of three things. One, it could be that they don’t have an actual Facebook account, they just have a Messenger account.Another reason could be that sometimes the time doesn’t like register right with it.Or that it’s been more than 24 hours since they were last active. It’ll only go up to 23 hours since last active.

Does the Messenger app sometimes show you online even when you are not?

Facebook Messenger statuses aren't accurate. My fiancé and I had the same problem. When he says he's going to work but yet after a couple of hours it'll still say he's "active now". As he never brings his phone to work, I called his work place and confirmed he arrived on time and was clearly working. There are a few times that both of us are in the same room and checked each other's status in Messenger, it'll say "active now" although our phones are offline or charging. The app isn't accurate so don't worry about it.

Why do messages on Facebook Messenger sometimes change from "seen" to "delivered"?

Paul Olaru is correct.  I am not sure what version of Messenger you're using, but "Seen" means the person opened their chat or Messenger to the conversation.  My version of Messenger doesn't have "Delivered" as a status message, but it says "sent" if the message has not yet been opened by the recipient (Apple's iMessages shows "delivered" if the message was sent but not opened, and "read" if it was opened).  In Messenger specifically a "seen" message may have a little circle with a miniature of the recipient's profile picture next to the message to indicate that she's opened it; a "sent" but not opened message has a check-mark next to it.Edit: Combined three answers on merged questions.  This question is very merge-worthy; I rarely go more than a couple days without a new A-to-A on the exact same question.  I won't be answering it in the future, nor any similar question, because there's not much to add.  Hopefully one of these answers will be helpful.Originally Answered: I sent someone a private message on Facebook, and their profile picture icon showed up, indicating that they read it. When I look at the icon next to our last two conversations, it is a white circle with a blue checkmark. Does that indicate that they marked it as unread or deleted the message? It usually means they haven't looked at the latest message in the conversation, whatever that may be.  You got the "seen" icon for any messages that were there the last time they went into the conversation, but if you have sent a new one since then they might not have "seen" it.I've seen numerous questions on Quora asking about the following: If you had a "seen" icon and it changed back to a blue circle without you sending any more messages in between? That I think must be a database glitch—I have attempted several times to recreate such a situation with my computer, phone, and a dummy FB account that I mostly use for testing, and I wasn't able to recreate a situation like that when I experimented with it just now.  I've never seen it in the "wild", either.  And as of today, 20 September 2015, FB aren't marking messages "Delivered" on the desktop chat window either.Whether the other person deletes or marks unread a conversation affects only the way it shows up on their device, not yours.

Out of the the blue my message window resets to the top every time I send or receive a message?

As described in my question, every time I send or receive a message, my IM window resets to the top, and I have to scroll all the way back down to see the message. This is very inconvenient because sometimes I have really long conversations. I have not updated my Messenger lately, the only thing different I have done today is updated my computer. WTF?????

Yahoo messenger games don't work anymore.. why?

I recently reinstalled windows on my computer. Now i have win xp sp2 (i had this before) and i also installed vista transformation pack to get a new look .As the title says, yahoo messenger games don't work anymore (and i'm not talking about games.yahoo.com .. that works fine, i talking about games in Y messenger). I installed java, uninstalled, installed y mess/uninstalled / installed .. then java again.. i even tryed an older version of java.. i tryed both manual and online instalation but nothing seems to work. When i start a game (pool for example) i get the gray screen.. sometimes i get a "Loading text" message .. and sometimes, after all this i get the all famous error from windows (u know.. the error report asking to send or not) and yahoo messenger closes. Before reinstalling windows the games worked just fine.
So can anybody help me?...

How do I know if someone deleted me from yahoo messenger list?

You cannot.

And imvisible.info doesn't work that way. It just tells status for a particular id (which can be wrong sometimes) .To know if someone deleted you from yahoo messenger doesn't depend on their status; if they are on your list, and are 'available', they will be shown online to you even if they have deleted you from their list.

you can only know if someone deleted you..(by manual way which requires cooperation from their side)..eg. if you have someone on your list whom you havent chatted for long..but you still have them on your list, and you start to talk to them when they are online..later it turns out you get an 'add request' from this person. (which means, this person had deleted you from their list since you hadn't talked for a while..and wants to communicate again so he/she added you back) . this is a common-sense way to know if they had deleted you earlier.

Why won't my messages deliver on Facebook Messenger?

Hi There :)Well, this all really depends. The Facebook MESSENGER comes in one of two states. You have the in-built system of the main Facebook website (the chat area) or the Messenger Application you can download to your phone. The two can have very unique issues giving reason as to why your messages aren't being sent.I won't disagree with the other answers here. There is a possibility the person has blocked you. However, I have another couple of details to provide you.In Messenger there is a small symbol to the right of your message which will come in one of 4 stages.1. Green circle - Message generated2. Green circle, green tick - Message has been sent to Facebook's main servers3. Green circle + fill, white tick - Message has been received by the other person's Facebook profile4. Fill of profile picture - Message has been received by the other person's deviceDepending upon the state of your message, one of these four will generate next to it. Determine what state the message is in, and then you'll find out where it's falling behind.1. Green circle - Your device isn't synced to the internet and/or Facebook services correctly. Refresh your browser page, and if that doesn't work check your internet connection.2. Green circle, green tick - Facebook's main servers are not communicating properly. Either it's a performance issue or a server has crashed and is being bypassed or recovered. Can't do anything, just wait. Will automatically send when able.3. Green circle + fill, white tick - The profile has received the message, but it hasn't been seen. This is NOT something you can control. This falls down to the next time the person sees their profile and/or device.4. Fill of profile picture - No delay. They've already received it.Please also note, number 4 does not necessarily mean they've seen it. There have been many times in the past whereby Facebook (especially where updating the application on your device) has briefly logged you in and checked all your systems before logging you out. It's a near-instantaneous function, but can register you as being active and/or having read a message. Does this mean you have? No. It's just something that happens... So... Yeah, that's a thing.I hope this helps :)

Why can't I send a file through the Yahoo Messenger?

I think I've done this before. But now, it doesn't work. My friend over the net tried to send me files through Yahoo Messenger, I accepted this but after sometime of transferring, YM said there's an error transferring this file. I called another friend and he told me the same thing happens on him. Why? I thought I could rely on messenger! Can the files be sent on email? Help me.
